  1. Whadyasay- In fact I would be mounting them on the wall like my 35's are now (door hinges angled toward the listening area; $4. @ Home Depot.), and it really does give, at least in perception, more floor space. Of course, before I upgrade again, I will have a good listen to both in hopes that my sub would make up for any weakness in the 75's. If not, it's limited floor space again and RF-7s. However, I will need to think this through and develop a strategy, since I sold my wife on my 35's partially with the argument that it would eliminate my old lesser towers. As I recall, she liked that idea.
  2. Bump, because I would like to hear opinions also. I am thinking about upgrading in the future, and floor space is very important to me.

  4. The thread size is 1/4-20. I mounted mine with 1/4-20 eye bolts and turnbuckles in the corners. Very simple, effective, and cheap
  5. At first glance it looked fine, however, initially I was more interested in seeing how it sounded. Now that I am sonically satisfied, and since you asked, I went and looked it over real good and I think the fit and finish is excellent. Just so you know, if it looked like c%$@p, I'd throw a table cloth over it. This units not going anywhere.
  6. Shock and awe! Now I get it! Well my sub arrived yesterday, per plan, and I spent the evening setting it up and revisiting many of the bass intense movie segment often talked about on this site. All I can say is WOW! I A-B'd it against the one it's replacing for a short while, until I realized it was absolutely no contest. The depth charges in "U-571," the glass tap in, "Nemo," the "Jurassic Park" T-Rex scene were all amazing. The real kicker was when I invited the wife in to experience a couple of these and she said, "that sounds awesome." This is the same girl that said, "well it sounds a little louder" when I upgraded from my Bose System (yeah I now know, sorry!) to my current set-up. There is nothing like having buy in from the wife. On a funnier not, when I was done I noticed the pictures in the living room were all crooked, and later, the ones in the den, the pool room , and the dinging room. I'll have to get some two side tape. This thing delivers beautifully crisp SPLs way beyond what I need in my current 2000 cu ft setting or way into the future. Awesome!
  7. There still listed on the Klipsch main page. I haven't heard anything about them being discontinued.
  8. Just an opinion. If I was looking at spending $3K, I would be looking at separates.
  9. No explanantion needed. I get it. You are seriously into this hobby. That's great!!
  10. I am sure I could search through the forum and figure it out, but what do you do with all of these subs? Are you an installer or just an extreme hobbyist? I get the impression that you live in a forest of subs.
  11. Yahooo! I talked to Hsu today and I made the current wave of VTF-3 Mk2s. My unit goes on the truck tomorrow. I should have it by early next week. Can't wait! I'll post some impressions as soon as I have achance to give it a good listen.

I have a Yamaha RX-V2400 and love it with my favorites, HT and Jazz. Best bet would be to find Yamaha and Denon side by side and give a listen. Your mileage may vary.
  13. Any of these would work, however, plan C looks like the best to me. And again RB35's or 75's if you can swing it. Also, from what I have learned, you might want to get your three front speakers at the same height if possible. Enjoy!
  14. I am not sure about your HK, but on some receivers you can adjust the speaker levels, including subs, by input device.
  15. I originally bought 25s, exchanged them for 35s and I am very pleased. If you can afford the 35s, buy them. If you can afford 75s, buy them. Your best bet is to listen to them side by side and decide for yourself. I saw a significant difference in the 35s. Enough to convince me to spend the extra money.
  16. I agree. I would like to stay with an all Klipsch set up, but with the RSW 15 priced at twice what some of the performance competition is, I stop and think, hard. I'm all for product loyalty up to about an additional 15%.
  17. It shouldn't make a difference. The speaker is configured identically in either case, up or down. Of course you could move the mounting tab.
  18. I'd like to have your speakers, but the TV could use an upsize if you really want to enjoy the home theater experience. I currently have a 55 Hitachi Ultravision and my next upgrade is a 65" diamond Mitsubishi or comparable unit.
  19. TheEar- I've been around here long enough to know that if I got a nod from you on a sub selection, I'm gonna be OK! Made my day! Thanks! P.S. The E-mail response from Hsu said the order would ship in a day or two. I hope that wasn't a generic response for all products seeing how I've heard they were a little behind on VTF-3 MK2s. I was set for a bit of a wait, but the sooner the better.
  20. I just ordered the Hsu VTF-3 Mk 2 ($699. with free shipping). Out of all the suggestions and research I have done, this unit best met my criteria for physical size, performance, and price. Actually it was a lot less money than I had planned on spending initially, but the higher priced competitors were simlpy too large (a deal breaker for me) or did not extend low enough with power. And the price is amazing! I am very pleased with the unbiased support and feedback I received on this topic while trying to nail this decision. Hsu is a little behind on these units, so I eill report back in mid to later February when i receive the unit and run it through it's paces. Thanks again!
  21. I am really leaning toward the VTF-3 at this point, however, the only ones I see on the Hsu websight are the VTF-2, and the VTF-3r. There are no VTF 3s or MK IIs? Does anyone one know why they are not listed? The VTF-3R sounds perfect, although for a few hundred less I could live without rosewood and piano black. The performance and price point are exactly what i am looking for though. As soon as i get it sorted out over the regular VTF-3 and Mark II, I'll pace an order. Does anyone have the inside scoop on this?
  22. Thank you all for the feedback. Frankie, you were right. It's a Def Tech Powerfield 12, not a Soundfield 12. Whatever it is, it still falls off a cliff at 40Hz. I think I am afraid of the size or the PB2+ would be a no brainer, but it's huge! 28" tall!? I have the room for it, just don't know if I want anything that invasive in the room. Same goes for the PC Ultra. I've heard the sesimic 12 and it auditioned well. The only other one I'll be able to audition in town here is the RSW15. I think I will do that tomorrow. It's a lot of money and I want to make sure I get this one right. Ahh, and then their's the VTF3. This is going to be tough. Sure wish there was a way to get a listen on the Sunfire sig. No local dealers though. Oh well, I'll figure it out in the next month or so. My habits include 80/20 HT and music. Here's how it stack up for me right now. SVS PB2+ -If performance was the only issue, this would be it. However,I'd like to find similar performance in a smaller package, at a similar price. A bit more is OK. Sunfire Sig - Can't locate to audition. Not on TN list? Does it really go low enough with authority? RSW 15 - Looking good! I'll have a look and listen tomorrow and see if the dealer will deal. That is what they do. Right? Seismic 12 I like! In the current TN top 10 atleast. Maybe a little light on the bottom end. VTF3 -I like the right ups, but again unable to audition. The size and price look good as well. This would be so easy if only I could find them all side by side to audition. I guess that is what keeps life and the hobby interesting. Thanks again for the tips. Any other words of encouragement or additional advice is welcome. I am new to this, but I don't want to go back and buy another sub in six months when I'm more well versed. I'll cetainly keep you posted on the purchase. P>S> Anyone looking for a Def Tech Soundfield 12?
  23. I am about to pull the trigger on a new sub. I was quoted $1400. for the Seismic 12 from a local dealer. Is this a good Price? How much better would this be then my DefTech Soundfield 12. My DT falls off the chart at about 40Hz on the Avia disk. The only reason I don't go straight for the PB2+ is the size, and the Sunfire is out of my budget range. My room is about 13 X 17 with 9 foot ceilings open on one end. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.

    Single RS 35

I mounted mine with a door hinge (3.99 home depot). It It works excellent and you can't even see it. It was a little scary screwing into the cabinet, but no problem
