Updated pics with new Yammie 1400. Still need a new TV tho. 36" is not cutting it anymore. Anyone want to buy?

Chapter 24 "Times Up" in Independence Day is also a great demo scene. Anything on my THX & DTS Demo discs are great too!

Thanks a bunch! Just ordered one myself to add to my DD and DTS plaques!

What is the difference between RF3 and RF3II
yamaklipsch replied to wrench_peddler's topic in Home Theater
If I'm not mistaken, I believe the only other difference is that the RF3II is magnetically shielded. -
Thanks for all the replies!! It seems that a lot of people feel it is not necessary and that bi-amping would benefit more. I'll probably go ahead and try it when I feel ambitious enough to tear apart my gear. (Maybe for spring cleaning) Chances are, I'll just leave it as is. THANX AGAIN!!! Pete

As you all know, my RF-3IIs have the capability to be bi wired. From what I've been reading, it appears that this method is preferred by most people. Not necessarily on Klipsch only but on other brands as well. Does anyone bi-wire their speakers? Any pros and/or cons? I am using a Yamaha RX-V1400 receiver so I would use A and B terminals. Is this correct? I was always unsure of this so I figured this would be the best place to ask this question!! Thanks in advance for any thoughts!!

Beautiful system!! I'd love to hear what those dual SVS sound like in the corners.. on a hardwood floor!!

That driver belongs in a professional sound reinforcement cabinet for DJ and PA use. While it is designed to play LOUD, it probably won't go much lower than 45hz or so in the proper cabinet with the proper amp. Not designed for HT use. Good price tho.

I listened to the RF-35s and the RF-3IIs. Personally, I preferred the sound of the RF-3II. Not to mention, I got the same deal at 6th Ave. here in NJ for $495 Also picked up the RC-3II from them for only $199!! I think the deal is still on last time I checked. The salesman told me it would remain that way until they cleared their inventory. Now if they would only discount those darn RS-3IIs

www.6ave.com has them on their site.. they ARE an authorized Klipsch dealer. I purchased mine from one of their retail locations here in Jersey.

Kinni.. that pic is deceiving, the TV is about 2 inches higher than the audio rack.. good idea tho!!

I wish I could move the door!! Then I can get a larger TV.. 36" isn't cutting it anymore.. Would like a JVC 56" HD set..

Don't forget to check out Crest Audio.. The largest supplier to the touring sound industry. I used to have the one pictured here in my system. Model LT-1000.. Comes with a 5 year tranferrable warranty.. You can find a used one for around $300.

Front stage. The Yamaha RX-V596 in the photo was recently replaced by the Yammie 1400, also my 4 year old Toshiba DVD quit on me. Replaced with a JVC XV-N50.

You will be able to use the OSD, however when watching any source connected with component, the receiver will not superimpose the menu over the picture as shown in my screenshot in my previous post. That pic was taken with the menu overlayed on my digital cable box connected with S-video. The menu will instead appear on a gray background. See my screenshot in this post. Don't know why Yamaha chose to do this. It doesn't bother me too much, but there is a lot of talk over at the AVS Forums about how this is an inconvenience.

I like the superimposed menu as well, however I didn't think it was a fair tradeoff for DVD picture quality. I don't have an HD set either so I would like to take advantage of the best quality I can get at this time. When I swapped out my s-video for component, I did notice a difference in picture quality.

I have the Yammie 1400 which works the same way as your 2400. The menu will not overlay on DVD connected with component cables even when the GRAY BACK option in DISPLAY SET menu is set to AUTO. It will, however be superimposed on sources connected with S-video.. see attached file..
