  1. Geez, I thought Klipsch did make car speakers! [*-)]
  2. "They're called 'pinters' because they drink a pint before lunch and a pint after lunch!" LOL, I was thinking the same thing!
  3. That is a print of Monet's "The Artist's Garden at Giverny". Something my wife came dragging home one day.
  4. "Are those shelfs wall mounted or on legs? Couldn't quite make it out." Michael, The shelves are free-standing platforms made using 2x4s with a 3/4" birch plywood top. I originally built them a couple of years ago soley for the purpose of having a place to sit my brother's Lascalas when he came to visit (CW-LS wars!). They worked out so well that I decided to stain them black and keep them for the electronics. They can easily handle 300 lbs. I like the CW over the Mitsubishi. I tried a Heresy center between the Cornwall mains, even two Heresys before I got the Vertical CW, and was not satisfied with the center channel. The CW center made a huge difference.
  5. This is the living room (wife on left, babysitter on the right). The other Khorn is to the left of the frame along that 16' wall. You can just see one of the Dyanco Mark III amps at the lower right of the frame.
  6. Michael, This is my HT. I'm running '83 Heresys in the rear corners of the room about 6' off the floor. The Khorns are in my living room, and the CWIIs are in the garage for now. BTW, the CW HT is also a very good 2-channel powered by the Scott 299D and a 99B for the derived center CW. The Thorens 125 MKII/SME 3009/Shure V15III vinyl rig is what I used most with the system when I'm not watching a movie.
  7. Tom, Does the "Saladbowl" and that driver cover the range from 550 Hz on up to around 20KHz, or was there a tweeter in the mix? That is a nice looking horn.
  8. My brother had LS mains with a CW Center (vertical, on its side) and CW rear surrounds. It souned really good, but then he replaced the LS's with Khorns and moved the LS's to the rear. That sounds even better. IMO, the CW center blends very good with the Khorns or the LS. Three Lascala's across the front would be good also (I still like my three CWs across the front even better, IMO of course).
  9. Arkytype, I think you must be referring to the CD that Woodog brought. I think he said the artist was Ar Rahman, CD title "Vande Mataram" (Forrest, correct me if I'm wrong). I jotted it down because I really liked it too.
  10. "What really makes something "pro audio"?" ---------------------------- Black paint and handles []
  11. Quite possibly the world's best car speakers!
  12. I thought this was a cool looking shot of SSH's 2A3.
  13. This poor guy was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
  14. The staff at the Goat Roper could not have treated us any better. Apparently, this one overlooked our shortcomings for one night, because she was very nice.
  15. I too want to express my sincere thanks to Dee and Tony and Lee and the other Arkansas Klipschters, and of course to the Klipsch employees who made this a very special weekend. And a special thanks to Trey, who made possible the rare experience of visiting the plant that PWK built. Michael did a much better job of expressing heart-felt thanks to everyone responsible for the gathering, so I'll just say ditto to what Michael said. I have just a few more photos to post. The first is Trey receiving from Dee the custom-made lighted Klipsch sign.
  16. I thought the CWIII sounded very good, and since I currently have CWs and CWIIs, I think I can say it is worthy of being called a Cornwall. FWIW, The CWIII (and CWII for that matter) does not need a tweeter with the sensitivity of a K77. The LS and the Khorn LF sensitivity is so high that a K77 is required. The tweeter used in the CWIII and the HIII may be less expensive, but that does not mean they won't sound as good (or better) for those lower sensitivity speakers. I think the K79 in my CWII sounds just as good as the K77, but the K79 could never be used in a LS or Khorn. During the demo in Hope, I personally preferred the CWIII to the LS, but that is probably because my ears do and the K401 do not match up too well, especially with SS amplification. I think the CWIII is a winner, and much improved from what we heard in Indy, and even that was pretty good.
  17. Kaiser and Michael discuss the optimal sound pressure level.
  18. Kaiser won one of the BS buttons in the door prize drawing. (Thanks Lee!)
