  1. If it was me and they are suggested by Klipsch and they are famliar with the product, I would do it. I am the same as you I could not live happly without my system. So for me I would take the chance to get it fixed. Finding a new one is most likely not going to happen. Good luck
  2. Just to let you know I have a similar setup and it is excellent I am glad I upgraded when I did and for what I paid for them it was worth it.
  3. sorry to bump this but I still have some Ultra 5.1 speakers (no sub) available if someone needs them. They are in a shipping box wrapped up and ready for shipping. They need a new home thanks again
  4. let me know I have the Ultra 5.1 front center and surrounds if you wanted to use them instead. Let me know
  5. Amen to this I upgraded my speakers to the RSX-4 and the RCX-4 and that made a big difference but it would be nice to see newer products from Klipsch in this market
  6. I have great condition Sats from the Ultra 5.1 set. Center Right\Left Surroud (5 speakers total) please let me know if you need a picture or if you interested. Also if you in the local Boston area we could meet if you want the speakers. I'm asking 125. for the set and they are well protected in clear bags with each speaker being wrapped in bubble wrap and the box filled all around with peanuts. thanks
  7. not sure you will get a reply here since this is Personal Audio... mostly Ipod speakers and Computer Speakers. Have you contacted Klipsch to see if they have any leftover grills? Also Ebay or Craig's list if someone has damaged speakers
  8. I would love to invest in a better power chord but this chord isn't your everyday chord. It's a special 2 prong cable with no ground. I have only seen it on one site and it for some medical equipment. "magnetic personality" ha ha I wish!!! [] the remote is a volume only pod (little circle volume control) I would leave it disconnected but I do not know the results of that. Is it set full volume without it or no volume at all? http://www.klipsch.com/products/discontinued/details/sws.aspx thanks
  9. I was wondering if any SWS owners are having this issue? If you touch the power chord it makes the sub thump or humm. If you touch the volume cable it will have the same effect. I tried plugging it into different outlets and originally it was used on my parents home theater setup. Even down there if you stepped on the cable or got anywhere near the cables it would humm. Sort of hoping someoene else has seen this and found a cure. The cable is only 2 prong and has no ground so I don't know another way to ground it. thanks
  10. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=220273510798&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=012 auction is for the Fronts, Center, Surrounds only. So 5 sats only thanks PM me if you have any questions about them, I upgraded that is why I am selling them
  11. I was looking at a JVC, maybe not as nice as the Onkyo but small for using with the PC. It seem to have every port I needed at the time but I decided to keep using my ProMedia Ultra power amp.
  12. Yes, this was my worry as well good to see someone feels the same and I do. I have great news... YES it is removeable and I have put mine behind my 24in LCD monitor. I could move it out to the front but the way my desk is designed it think it would look weird. I can here it pretty good with out the stand. Trust me when I tell you I made the right move changing to the RSX4's, I don't regret it at all. I would of liked the idea of the 5's but for positioning for the computer and where I sit they didn't make sense. There is plenty of mid bass and crisp highs for my taste. I bet if Klipsch made a 4 channel amp to use with this with more watts along with a power sub they would be amazing. That would be a neat idea if Klipsch could come up with that. Buy any set of speakers from the company and pair it with a 4 channel amp that can be hooked up to the PC with an external pod volume control or small remote. Then pair that with any one of their powered subs..... SWEETNESS!!!! One can only dream!!
  13. not sure how you would do that actually since you would need to convert from 1/8 inch to RCA and would have to have inputs for front (left/right) center and sub then rear (left/right)
  14. Here is the link but I imagine they are similar if not the same as the Ultra's but you can check it out http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/promedia-5-1.aspx
  15. not that anyone cares much but if you are looking to update you sats then maybe my feedback will be helpful. I finally recieved my RSX4 rear speakers today and testing them out now.... sounds SWEET 4 - RSX4 1 - RCX4 1 - Ultra Sub 1- SWS Sub
  16. I bet you can check here hxxp://www.klipsch.com/products/details/promedia-ultra-5-1.aspx
  17. Well I never took a picture of the setup with the RSX5's cause I felt they where overkill for my setup but they were really nice. The 4's will fit on my desk and I will be able to move them around a little more then the 5's plus the bass won't won't be over powering. Once I receive the replacement 4's I will take a picture of the whole setup. If anyone is considering purchasing the 5's I would consider the things I didn't which was how close will you be to the 5's and will they be too much thanks to all for your posts and info... really helps
  18. I'm still testing the speakers tonight but I think I like the RSX4's all around. The 5's are nice if you sit a distance back from your computer. The 5's have nice low end but the 4's for the distance are crisper and I get a nice mid/bass sound from the 4's that I do not hear on the 5's. Almost like the 5's are overkill for my situation. I think I will keep testing for the weekend and will post a picture later tonight of my setup
  19. OMG just got them today RSX5 x2 RSX4 x2 and RCX4 x1 WOW are the 5's BIG!!!!!! but the sound is different nice lows coming from these speakers I will take pictures later tonight still testing
