  1. While this is all simmering, I took the time to open our brand new case just delivered from our wine club ! Boxx, you know its a happy day when a new one arrives. Next, I will show a photo of our choice for THIS simple Italian dish...

What wine club do you belong to?

  2. I had a witty post for this thread but then I read Dave's adventure and forgot what I was going to say. Soooo lemme just add I thoroughly enjoy a stogie and a good single malt. Tonight however I might tip back a bit o Bourbon with my Reposado 96 maduro......or mabye The Balvenie Caribbean Cask with A Macanudo Maduro.....Or maybe Macallan with ......

  3. Being an opportunist, I have to say the title of this thread peaked my interest. I think a bit of a redesign of the C3's that changes the cable and add a mic and iDevice controls like the X#i’s or S#i’s would be a great idea. I would be very interested in such a product. Even the name C3i's sounds appealing hint hint hint![H]
  4. Let me just add a couple quick comments here. I prefer Brand XXX but only would recommend their model 38DDD. The web sites I've seen them on are very detailed. Great umm rear and front panel shots. The knobs are clearly visible and also have a center tweeking adjustments on them. Inputs and output are easily distinguishable that even the most novice user could get excited about it. I've seen them laid in such a manner that multiple units can be chained together with relative ease.

  5. Yep I am impressed by these. I do miss my C3's they were the best sounding IEM's I have ever used but the nozzle eventually broke on one of them. But these S5i's are nice, extremely comfortable to wear, more so than the C3's were. I might have to splurge for a set of X10i's at some point. I'd love ot hea the Mode M40's someday.

  6. Until this past weekend I would have put Wisconsin in that mix. If I were to pick today I'd say LSU vs Stanford for all the marbles. I do not beleive the Big 12 is as good as reported and Boise St. is benefitting from a weak conference schedule, one in which they are not dominant. I think LSU will win it all continuing the SEC stranglehold on BCS domiance. Alabama has a valid shot I just do not think they can match LSU speed. LSU defence is is brutally efficinet.

Beyond that all I can say is WE ARE PENN STATE!

  7. Since you have Khorn's, an LSII and HIII's already. I'd add a second set of HIII's and call it a day. All Heritage rigs are awesome. As long as you have the room you cannot go wrong. Move the KLF's into another room and let them be what they are.

  8. Who here is using them. I am looking at possibly building an HT using 3 KL-6504-THX, 2 KL-6502-THX and 2 KS-7800-THX and a KA 1000-THX with 1 or 2 KW-120-THX.

If you are using any of the THX Ultra 2 in wall or even in ceiling products I'd love ot here your impressions both strong and weak points. Thanks.

  9. Thank you Mr Hurd!!!!! Agree satin finish would be much more perferable. Were they mated to the Klipsch SW 311 sub when you listened to them?

I believe this was the system we heard, but it's been a while so I could be mistaken:

As far as sound quality, I think I might actually prefer the promedia series. I bet the Gallery would go louder, but it's a bit congested in the mids compared to the typical bright Klipsch sound.

If you wanted something nicer, and an even smaller visual footprint, then I'd go with the R-5800 inwalls, which are $400 each. That leaves $1700 for the subwoofer of your choice. The SW-311 retails for $1600 so you could save $100.

I dunno, maybe someone from Klipsch will tell me I'm crazy, but I remember the first time I heard the R-5800's and it blew away everyone in the room. Everyone thought it was bigger floorstanders playing until they told us which ones they were. I simply can't fathom the Gallery system giving that impression based on what we heard down in Hope.

Mike thanks I have not discounted out an in-wall option. It is just a permanent/fixed solution when you go that route. I am not giving up my Heritage speakers by any stretch but I will likely move the HII's to other duties throughout the house. My LS will still be in the same room for 2 CH duties. The in-wall or flat panel solution just opens up the place some. At $400 each I could get 5 and 2 R5650-S for side surrounds. Anyone know what the 5650’s run?
  10. Anything will be an improvement on the AL crossovers, I prefer the ALK universal in Lascala's.

The A-4500 with the CT-125's is a very popular option.

    Dave

+1 Al's universal crossovers sound great in La Scala's. I use them in mine. I also use Bob's tweeters and it is like these networks and tweeters were made for each other. I think next up at some poitn will be to replace my Altec 511b's with Fastrac's.

  11. Yes, I happened to have spent some time in the room that was set up with the Gallery series product, and I deemed it to be a great bang for the buck, however I must warn you that they are glossy, and will reflect light. This may or may not be an issue to a potential purchaser. ( I know I would prefer a satin finish, if I were buying them for a family room )

Glad to see someone was paying attention, Yes you can't possibly expect me to, by now you should know better.

DTEL you just crushed me with tha bit of info, I was heavily relying on your attentiveness in this matter [H]
