  1. You can replace DD 5.1 with any receiver with preouts. You need preouts to connect receiver with your Promedia speakers. Preouts bypass amp section in receiver, you don't need it anyway because all Promedia spakers are amplified (contain amplkifier within them).
  2. Prologic supports 4.1 configuration, Prologic II supports 5.1 and Prologic IIx supports 7.1.
  3. It doesn't look like you do know much about PCs Elite but suit yourself. I do own Promedia DD-5.1. You can't have analogue sound through digital outputs no matter what.
  4. I wonder if someone tried to hook up all three sound card outputs to PM 4.1? If I select in Windows 5.1 configuration then use mini plug splitter (2 males plugged into front and center sound card output on one end and female mini plug output on the other end plugged into front mini plug cable going from Klipsch controller) to output front and center outputs to front output of PM 4.1 will I get 5.1 sound or center channel will simply disappear. Is it possible to mix front and center channels in the first place? Why I'm asking this is that my PM 4.1 works fine and I'm not into spending $400 for new PM 5.1 just ot get 5.1 surround sound.
  5. Anyone know where to purchase G9 cables?
  6. PS2 Dolby Digital and DTS are primarily for playing DVD movies. I don't have a single PS2 game that supports surround sound.
  7. I would recommend Monster Cable THX certified and also you should buy here from Klipsh's online store Monster speaker wire THX certified. It is around $100 but you will be blown away with sound. 5.1 Monster kit form Klipsch goes for $70 and optical and coax digital cable Monster THX are $25 for 8ft.
  8. I think the only way for you if you have Promedia 5.1 speakers is to get triple Y 3 and a half inch splitter. Plug splitter into your speakers and then connect outputs from Promedia DD-5.1 and outputs from your speakers preamp module into that splitter. You can also try Radio Shack switch box I bought recently.
  9. If you find any DVD audio or SACD decoder then let us know because I know of none presently.
  10. I would say that both of you have no knowledge about PC sound and how it works. Believe it or not, PC has analogue sound which means that you won't hear anything from digital outputs except sources that are digital like DVD movies or CD music. Creative Labs has introduced their own processor DDTS-100 that is $50 more expensive but features Dolby EX, DTS ES, Neo 6 and Prologic II in addition to basic Dolby Digital and DTS and what is most important it features switch box that will let you hook DDTS-100 with digital inputs and regular analogue sound card outputs. When you want to watch DVD movies select digital output in your DVD player and then switch to DDTS-100 and when you do the rest in analogue on your PC just flip the switch. Promedia DD-5.1 doesn't include any switch box or any instructions on how to connect PC to it and therefore it is not meant for PC at all unless you want to play DVD movies on your PC. Klipsch should have clarified this on their web site or in Promedia DD-5.1 manual. IGN review of Creative Labs DDTS-100: http://gear.ign.com/articles/449/449167p1.html?fromint=1
