  1. While the klipschorn is the flagship and foundation of the klipsch name , sadly i'll have to be the lone soul to disagree.

Flame me all you want " but " at the price point " yes " the klipschorn is a fantastic deal a great speaker , but thats all .

You guys can afford klipschorns, thats what makes them so great along with driving them with micro watts of power. If your back pocket was stuffed with bills you'd soon find out theres a whole other hi-fi world out there, none of you venture there because it's simply out of reach. I worked along side men who spent more money on lunch then most of us have invested in our kits. But i was just that " a worker " not a player .

I own klipschorns and love them to death , because i can afford them but if i had an unlimited line of cash the klipshorns would find there way into my garage in a big hurry.

My last boss had a pair of wilson audio's in his office that cost more than my house , they sounded so good i can't even begin to describe it.

Sorry to burst your bubble but if you walk around with blinders on long enough your going to bump into something that hurts. It's a nice gesture to pat each other on the backs once and awhile but don't play the fool along the way.

PS : This is not a flame thread , i'm speaking from 15 years as a roady and recording studio set up man . I'm by no means an expert , but i've listened to just about every speaker built on this contenent and just giving an opinion on whats appealing to my ears, others may disagree and thats ok . Audio is a very personal experiance that has a lot to do with taste.

  2. I find this lack of information hard to believe.

What you guys are saying is it's up to you to decide ??

OK i've got a room thats 100ft x 100ft so if i think one tiny 12 inch sub is enough then i'm right ???

    Ok i've got a room thats 24ft x 20 ft and i fill it with 25, 18 inch 6000watt subs , i'm right again ???

There has to be some sort of THX rating or method of calculating room size to sub woofer output. It can't be as simple as how much bass do you like , a single subwoofer has to have an effective area it's able to produce bass at a certain level.

I'll try the guys over at AVS , i'm sure they will know.

    Thanks Craig for a memory

Were you and craig in some sort of kinky 3 sum pudding party that we should know about ?2.gif

  4. I'm stickly a " PP " pudding guy , nothing like the " magic " of them old " Pull & Peel " metal pudding containers .

This new " SET " pudding is for the kids , personaly i can't stand the new " S imple E asy T hermoplastic containers .

The pudding takes on a whole difference taste and the " magic " seems to dissappear.

    " DISCLAIMER "

These opinions are strickly my own and come from nothing more than eating way to much pudding .

  5. Arthurs :

Who do you think your fooling ?? I've seen you on those other pudding forums !! Going by the handle of piggy and oinker , you've got a real problem and need to seek help fast .

I seen your post on pudding asylum last week , OH ya !! you know the one where you hid under the pourch and eat all the pudding with a " wooden " spoon !!!

Your a dam trader and a discrace to the silver pudding spoon group.

Personaly i think the moderators should kick you off .9.gif

  6. OOhh sorry flamers this threads not about you !

Last night i was admiring a freinds huge record collection as we were moving his possesions to another house. When we stop'ed for a break his wife sat down with us and went over there columbia house CD selections for the month.

I piped up and ask why the heck was he buying CD's with this massive record collection ? His response was " my record player crapped out years ago and there fairly expensive to replace today "

So i said hey stop and think about this for a minute , even a half decent used record player can be had for less than 1k but look at what your going to spend on CD's at $15 or $20 bucks each, by the time you re-buy everything already have .

I suggested trying to find a used rega or the likes . Anyone have a decent suggestion for a ( non- techy ) table for under 1k . We'll be looking used and i have " no " clue as to the price points in this market , any help would be great .

  7. Sorry man but thats just my take on it .

I play'ed hockey to the junior AAA level , i was the enforcer on our team.

I've been in more fights in one weekend than most guys have in there entire lives.

Yes i've done worse , i broke the jaw of our opposing teams coach one night , after a game. I cleaned the ice with his kid ( broke his nose and fractured his cheek bone )that night and he thought at 18 i was'nt tough enough to take the old man on, well he spent 8 weeks eating out of a straw for that mistake.

Don't lecture me on the world of hockey player's , i've been there .I lived on a rink for 15 years.

This kind of stuff goes on every night , across canada and the usa. Guys get boarded from behind and end up in a lot worse condition than this kid is in. The " drug " problem in junior hockey is unreal , you just don't hear about it . These guys are trying for the big paycheck , the " show " .

Steroids , cocaine , speed , ive taken it all and watched fellow teamates flush there lives down the drain over addictions.

Hell grant furr of the edmonton oilers was so blasted on cocaine he can hardly remember winning those cups . I could tell you stories that would curl your god dam toe nails !!!!

Broken neck my *** !! I've had a fracture on C4 & C5 from being boarded 10 times harder than this kid got hit. They are saying he's got a " small " chip out of a vert " big difference from breaking your neck " which by the way kills you . You can't " BREAK " you neck and live to tell about it. You can fracture verts in the C or L but you can't " BREAK " your neck .

You guy's just sit back on your couch and get entertained by the saturday night games , but have " no " clue what the life of a player is all about.

Todd screwed up and got caught , for that he's out $500,000.00 in pay plus the team is down 250k . How is this any worse than marty wacking that big *** brashier in the head with his stick ? Violence comes with emotion in this game.

The " POINT " of my first post was that this happens everynight but since this game was on tv and it's the NHL well hey now it's a news story.

Todd was wrong in what he did, I'll agree with you guys on that.

where i take exception is with the news exposure.

  8. How much is a fair price for a pair ?

E-bay had or still has a pair in poor condition with " chunks" missing and there still bid at $200.00.

    I bought a " mint " and i mean " perfect " pair of 511b's for $75.00 a while back ,so i can't see how a beat up pair of 311's can be worth that much .

Are they that rare ? or in that great of demand that one should expect to pay this kind of money ?
