  1. Judy has a 2015 EcoBoost 4 cylinder Mustang. An absolute blast to drive. It is loaded with options and has a the bells and whistles along with selective suspension for different types of driving. About 320 HP and gives her all the power she needs. It really flies when in the power band for the turbo. Gas mileage is good and hold the road like a dream.

  2. I had the B&W N801s and S800s and all of the heritage.

The B&Ws have amazing midrange and clarity.  They really eliminate the cabinet reflections (put your ear behind the marlin head and you can hear clearly, this is what would have been reflected off the cabinet).  They also have the tweeter right next to the midrange driver and they blend as well as a coaxial speaker.

The power that you are using sounds very low for 800 series.  I used 700 wpc (Classe CAM350 and Bryson 7Bs - 4 ohm speakers) and they needed it.

The K horns has way more impact, but much worse imaging (flat with a hole in the middle bottom) and broke up at high volume.  This was with the K77's and K55 and K-400.  The B&Ws just get louder, the K Horns sound different when played louder.

My annoyance with the B&Ws was needing so much power.  I wound up with Palladiums, which have more impact and need way less power.  They were a lateral move from the B&Ws.  My annoyance with the Palladiums is having to listen to "Dude, for that much you could have bought blah blah blah..."  That does not seem to happen with the B&W 800s.

They are power hungry, but I am waiting for my Adcom 555II to return from service. Double the power of my current rig. However, the get loud enough for me as is. But double the current power will definitely help!

  3. The picture doesn't show 802 Diamonds. I also didn't say they sounded better. They showed me the time alignment problems of the Klipschorn. The Klipschorn sound equally well as the 802 Diamonds, with the only difference being the time-alignment and the difference between direct radiators and horns. I would sell the 802's before the Klipschorns, but the 802D were bought for my wife. Plus, she would never let me sell the K-horns, either.

  4. Telephoning fish is when you use the generator of an old crank telephone to stun the fish, which then rise to the surface and can be grabbed by hand. The technique can also be used to cause worms to come out of the ground onto the surface so you can just pick them up for bait.

  5. A related story....

I was in court in Hope waiting on one of my cases to come up in municipal court. During the wait, a man had been charged with "telephoning" fish in the Red River. After the testimony, the man was convicted and fined $1500, confiscated his truck, trailer, boat, and motor. The hard thing on the guilty party was that the boat and trailer belonged to another man, and the motor, another. He had borrowed those items from, I assume, former friends. I would have hated to have been in his shoes!

  6. I know this topic has been covered many times, but I want to use 3 mono amps for powering two Klipschorns and a Belle as a center. Do I just use the fig. 2 from the Dope from Hope article for wiring a center as configured for a stereo amp?

Just noticed I misspelled Klipschorns in the title and can't edit it out.

  7. There is an Altec Model 14 in Imperial Beach, California that I would like to have. eBay auction is about done. I have a single I have been holding onto for many years, but shipping is outrageous! These are the kinds of data we need to know about. Members locations that may travel a lot or planning travel.

I don't have the territory that I used to (Mississippi to New Mexico, to Mexico to Kansas), but I still cover Arkansas, Oklahoma southern Kansas, southern Missouri, and maybe into the fringe of western Tennessee. Small items I can easily carry, but the bed of my truck is filled with testing equipment normally. I have carried a set of Cornwalls in the back seat area, though. My schedule is flexible, but unpredictable.

  8. This series was some of the best hockey I have seen in a while! Both teams were great, and the goal-keeping was outstanding! Thanks to both teams for such an enjoyable series.

  9. I have fit a pair of Cornwalls in a 4 door Silverado back seat area, A pair of Heresy in the back seat area of a Silverado extended cb. Klipschorns in a 4x8 Uhaul with the top hats off. Epic CF-2 in the back seat area of a Silverado extended cab. A single Heresy in the passenger seat of a Silverado (seat belt around it).

I keep furniture pads in the toolbox of my extended cab Silverado. Judy and I have unloaded Klipschorns by ourselves, and up the steps of our house (twice). Belles and La Scalas have always gone in a trailer or in the bed of one of the pickups. We also have a 15 passenger Ford Econoline with three seats removed as an option for hauling.

  10. What a game! I had to watch on the DVR, but it kept me up. Very exciting and I can't believe the Pens didn't win. Jones was outstanding and he definitely carried the Sharks in the game.

As to the officiating, I wish they would call penalties when they are so obvious. They miss too many calls. I have to think it is on purpose.

  11. Judy has a 2015 Mustang Ecoboost 2.3l. Puts out about 320 HP. She had a 2010 370Z Nismo with a rear mounted turbo, but decided she wanted something a little tamer and quieter. The Mustang is awesome!

Picture files are too big to load. Don't have time to downsize right now.

  12. Full disclosure, the photo of a Buick V8 in a Rotus is not my car.

I still have a 4 barrel manifold off a '62 or '63. I also have a manifold for a 215 V8. Don't know why I kept them, since I have sold the engines I had long ago. Found a couple of 215's and a 300 in a salvage yard about 15 years ago and snatched them up since I was into MGB's and planned a couple of V8 conversions. Ended up selling a 215 to a guy to put in a Pantera, and the 300 went to a guy in the northeast that just wanted to crank timing gears and cover and heads to build a 215 stroker for a MGB. Wish I had kept the 300 since it was the only year they had aluminum heads.

Still have a '86 Fiero in the back that is begging for a V8 conversion though.

  13. I liked this Mini.  That's George providing scale.  Note the decal in the rear window.

A Mini Traveler! Love those. There are always a couple of them at the British show in NWA. I spent 3 decades driving British cars. MGB's specifically. Now I have gotten into 60's Honda motorcycles.
