  1. i hosted the pics on a different site and used them here. so the attachments are different picture files than the picture files posted in the text.
  2. so is that supposed to read like that or is it a mistake? do you think the box reads incorrectly "1000 watts" to catch ill informed audio peoples attention? the general public probably thinks lots of watts are good so thats why they put that on the box. could that be called false advertising(even though its a jetta commercial)? but then again it says r 8 and not rw 8 so there not directly giving false info about the rw 8 any one have comments on this part of the commercial? maybe a moderator could answer this question? thanks scp53
  3. there two different subs in a sense. for really, really low stuff the svs will own the rsw's im sure. for the higher frequency punchy bass the rsw's own the svs. or at least this is what ive heard from others on this forum. scp53
  4. ok heres some pics. a few have my old titanic 10in mk3 and rb25 next to it so you can get an idea of its size- 24 Hx24 Wx24 3/4in D). i plan to finish the sub later. I'll paint it black this weekend and build a grill soon. (sorry for the large size)oh yeah, it weighs 120lbs. I'll post a review soon. Right now all i know is that it plays plenty loud and deep to PO my dad LOL . rattles the **** out of the door and pictures(and of course me).
  5. what do you plan to power them with? PE plate amps? a big crown or osq amp?(sorry about hijacking this thread. i know its a FS thread) scp53
  6. then the box must be messed up or something. Im trying to see the commercial right now but it wont load. Im POSITIVE that yesterday when i saw the commercial it said r-8 on the box and 1000 watts. that is NOT correct if its supposed to be a rw8. someone watch that commercial and tell me if im right. scp53
  7. try posting in the pro media area. you'll get better answers there imo. scp53
  8. thats going to be insane!! how big is the room? Have you talked to Chad from ascendant audio yet? maybe he'll tell ya its "too much". but theres not such thing as too much super low bass. He told me that he is scared to turn up test tones with two 18in ava's in his home(IB setup). im not sure if running 4 will be safe for the house. please post pics and tell us how you like it. i think after you get that built you'll never have to upgrade the low end again. good luck scp53
  9. you can buy one direct from klipsch. what happened to yours? broke it? Klipsch Parts Department Phone Number: 317-860-8100 Toll Free: 800-274-5547 Fax Number: 317-860-9195 E-mail: parts@klipsch.com scp53
  10. i saw that new jetta commercial and saw klipsch in it. but what is that sub in the commercial. the box says r-8 and 1000watts(you see it when its being carried to the car and in the cars back middle seat). is that a new model or something? in the room when its unboxed it looks like a rw10 or 12. thanks for any comments on this. scp53
  11. Id leave it up on the klipsch board for a few more days. Im sure theres someone that would buy it. just "bump" it now and then to keep it towards the top of the "powered sub" section. good luck scp53
  12. are those 18in avalanches your talking about? that would be the ultimate sub system. if you have any neighbors, they'll for sure hear it and feel it scp53
  13. Out of curiosity, why are you selling the SVS?
  14. Im sure you'll be able to sell that easily. Thats a good price imo. good luck scp53
  15. Well i got it built and it is IMPRESSIVE!! I need to put it in a bigger room than what i have it in now to really get the low end out of it(i dont think the waves fit in my smallish room). I watched pearl harbor and some lotr and shook my pictures nicely. Ill post pics and a better review in the next week or so because ive been busy. later scp53
  16. merkin, the titanic mk3 is definetly musical enough. I think the choice would be between depth or "musical punch"(as already said by CAS). I think SVS offerings no doubt will win with depth, the titanic offers decent depth and good musical punch, and the rsw would be similar to the titanic(but i havent done a side by side comparision. one member on here said he thought his titanic and the rsw15 sounded VERY similar.). no matter which sub you choose, any one of them will put a big smile on your face good luck scp53
  17. huskerfan1978, welcome to the forum id possibly contact klipsch tech support Klipsch Home Audio Customer Service Toll Free: 1-800-KLIPSCH (1-800-554-7724) Mon - Fri, 8AM - 5PM EST E-mail: support@klipsch.com or you could take the amp off and look it over. Look for any obvious problems(black burnt parts, etc). Im pretty sure the only problem is the amp and nothing with the woofer(you can push evenly on the edges of the speaker's dust cap. if you hear any scraping or other noise, the woofer is damaged.maek sure to push EVENLY. and dont go real far ) How much are you willing to put into it? what did you pay for it(if i may ask)? As you may know, this is not the greatest sub in the world(at least for music) so putting anything over 150-200 into it wouldnt be worth it(but thats imo). about the cheapest fix for it(other that a klipsch repair) would most likely be getting a amp from partsexpress.com. but that ksw amp may have a built in eq so a "generic amp(flat frequencey output amp)" from pe would not work well. answering those questions would better help us solve your problem. scp53
  18. welcome to the forum cris.rodrigo, what are your 5.1's? do you plan to use just the old sub or the sats too? you'll need to split the mini cable right out of the sound card and then run two wires- one to the 2.1s and one to the 5.1s. the volumes would need to be controled seperately or else use the windows volume control. also, it probably be best to place both subs in the same location(trying to keep them in phase). i should also note that it be better to go to the pro media part of this board for better answers. scp53
  19. i agree, its probably the amp. maybe its time to get a new sub?
