  1. ya they are great speakers if you have the space. I got an amazing deal for mine off Ebay - $550 shipped! and they were/are perfect. I ended up paying nearly $400 for the center though, but it is worth it. I would say anything under $700 shipped is a good deal, because shipping will be a legit $100+.
  2. ya I would like to hear more about this also - I have the KLF20s and the KLFC7 - I need some surrounds and a sub to go with them. I was looking at the RS25 surronds. But anyway - anyone actually have the KLF20s with a good sub?
  3. exactly...I have an external sound card made by Creative that has optical outputs, and that is what I hook up to the receiver. I used to use the before mentioned method - works fine, but the SQ is ok at best - though with any MP3 lower than 192kbps, it doesnt really matter how you hook it up because the SQ isnt that great to begin with
  4. I used to run mine on a QSC RMX850 amp with a legit 200 watts RMS/side when I lived in the fraternity house (they competed with about 400 people/party and numerous other systems and never missed a beat). That amp never overheated when playing at full power on bass heavy songs and other classic rock songs all night long. I sold the amp because I had to move on from that life, but 200watts/speaker was way plenty but I could tell the speakers wanted and could take much more (as long as it was clean power).
  5. I really did look very close all over the horn, but didnt see a mark. I may check again, but Ill probably wait till I get a voltmeter or unless someone has a deffinate way - I dont like to unscrew and screw in the speaker many times.
  6. Hey guys, I just noticed when I took apart my speakers today (just to mess around really) but there are no markings on the mid and tweeter horns as to which terminal is the + and -. I know that I took the speakers apart a while ago to re-seal them because the cabinets were vibrating and I may have switched the speakers when I put them back in. On the woofers, there is a little red circle by one of the terminals (the + one obviously) but there is nothing like that on the horns. I would like to think I could tell a difference if one of the horns was out of phase with the other, but I dont think my ears are that good at the moment. And I dont hear any off sounds at all. So should I just use a voltmeter on them? I dont have one, but if that is the only way, I could get one, because its bugging me big time because I dont know if they are playing right. thanks alot.
  7. Well that noise happens only on certain songs...and they are when I play through my computer. So it could be just mp3 quality or my wire that connects my computer to my reciever may be bad. Cause sound is perfect when I play through the DVD player with the optical wire...so I think my speakers are just fine! but thank you for the help
  8. One more thing...could it be something with the wires? I think I can hear a similar noise through the center speaker when I have it in surround, or maybe a bad wire from the crossover to the tweeter?
  9. Hey all...new to the forum, I have just started to notice that on certain mid-lower bass notes, there is a crackling noise that comes from the tweeter on my speakers. It only does it on one of them, and the tweeter still plays fine. It sounds like if you held a piece of paper by the port when the speakers were playing loud - that crackling/fart noise (sorry for the basic explination). Dont know if I need a new tweeter, or something may be vibrating back there. Like I said, it still plays fine. thanks
