  3. There's a B&O Beogram 0n Audigon now for $175. One Music Hall MF5 on Audigon for $425.
  4. Hiya,I have a 1984 "The AR Turntable" that I bought in 1984,for $450,I love it,can't afford to upgrade, but from what I've read I would have to spend over $1,000 to beat my AR. There's a mint one on EBAY now,I don't beleive they sell for over $375 in mint condition with arm. I believe in 1985 AR came out with the AR ES-1 which is identical to "The Ar Turntable" except they fixed the motor bearing problems. I have had zero problems with mine. Also I believe the AR EB-1 is a good choice too. Just my 2 cents, which with a dime will get you a cup of coffee. Also I believe folks here really like Thorens. Cheers, Robert
  5. ***BE SURE TO READ ALL THE QUESTIONS&ANSWERS on the bottom of the EBAY AD.

  8. Paul Gryzbek @ www.2baudio.com has some real nice ones on his web site that he makes himself, called vintage speaker terminal convertors or spelunkers,I have a pair each on my Scott 233 and Fisher 400 receiver, they work very well. Cheers, Robert
  9. I bought a mint pair of oiled oak Chorus I's a few months back through that were advertised in our local paper, they were just 15 minutes from where I live, paid $500. Kept them for 4 months or so,liked them alot. Then along came a pair of Chorus II's in C8.5 oiled walnut condition for $450,for that price I couldn't pass them up,but had to drive 5 hours each way to get them. I played the Chorus II's and then the Chorus I's,A/B-ing them with help from my wife. Both Chorus I's and II's sounded very good, but the II's were sweeter in the mid range and the bass was slightly better. But to our ears the difference between the 1"s & II's was not that great. Either speaker is a very good choice. I sold the Chorus II's on Ebay for $600,which was a very good deal for the buyer,he drove six hours each way to picke them up. I made enough to pay for gas to pick up the Chorus II',had to drive my wife's gas pig suv. But loking back I did like the Chorus I's,they didn't have a single nick of scratch, they were perfect. But I'm settled with the Chorus II's. So If you find a pair of Chorus I's at a good price, you can't go wrong. When I had my Chorus I's I was thinking maybe the II's are so much better sounding and should keep an eye out for a pair and I read all the Chorus posts on the Klipsch forum. Most folks seem to like the II's over the I's. But for my ears the II's made a slight difference in sound, not enough for all the trouble of selling the I's to get the II's and driving 10 hours, but hey it's a done deal now. If you find a pair of I's for under $700 in mint condition you can't go wrong. Cheers, Robert
  10. What's really sad is, I A/B-ed the Chorus II's with no working tweeters against the original Chorus I's and the II's still sounded better. I sold the Chorus I's,can't wait to hear my Chorus II's with working tweeters! Learning experience for sure. Cheers, Robert
  11. OOPS double post, please forgive me
  12. Many thanks!! I tried my Forte tweeter in one of my Chorus II's and I get tweeter action out of my Chorus II's now. My Chorus II's take K-79 diaphragms. How do I order a pair from you BOB? I would like to get them asap! I can not believe all this time and I had no tweeters! GEEZ LOUISE!! Cheers, Robert
  13. From reading the post about the Belles and covering the squalker w/cardboard. I decided to turn the bass all the way down and turn the treble up all the way up on my Scott 233 amp and cover the mid range horn with cardboard on my Chorus II's. Suspecting my tweeters may be dead. After sticking my ear into the tweeter I hear nothing,no hash,ZILCH! does that mean my tweeters are kaput? I did the same on the other speaker, zippo too. I have a pair of Forte I's in another room I did the same with them and I hear hash in the tweeter just fine. My Chorus II's I bought about 4 months ago used. They are in supreme condition and I had the crossovers modified my Dean G. on both the Chorus II's and the Forte's. I'm 99.9% sure I intstalled the crossovers correctly on the Chorus II's. I have a green and black wires going to the tweeter. If my tweeters are Kaput,do I just order a pair from Klipsch? what's the cost? Ahh sew,I see tweeter diaphrams on EBAY. Should I just try hooking up my Forte tweeter in my Chorus II's to see/listen if the diaphrams are bad? Cheers and many thanks, Robert
  14. Hmmm. No I don't,you can email me @ rlahser@carolina.rr.com
  15. Hi, I have one pair of Telefunken smooth plate 12AX7's for sale$35. I bought them last week as a pair from Paul Gryzbek,"Bizzy Bee" Tube Audio design. Paul said they tested strong and came out of a Fisher receiver. All the white tube labeling has rubbed off. I have a receipt from Paul,I paid $40 for the Pair. Turns out I don't need them for my Fisher. Holler if you want them. I did use them for a brief time in the preamp section and they sound great!! I switched to Sylvania 5751 Gold Brand grey plate gold pins for the preamp section in my Fisher 400 receiver. If you don't like them send them back for a 99.99% refund. Cheers, Robert
  16. Thanks for answering my question. I learn so much from you guys.

Please look at the link and tell me if the test numbers are close enough, does it matter if the quad is not matched?
