  1. tea yea yea!!!!!!!!!!, no metal bands but i would aleways listen at high volumes in my car, my older sister used to tell me i would grow up one day and stop doing that and what do you know turns out she was right. you know how it is you want something so long you finally get it you can convince yourself a terd looks and sounds good if you try hard enough Joe
  2. now larry werent you listening,, skip the belles and scalas go straight for the throat and get the k-horns, you can find the odd good deal if you look hard enough seriously though belles are an awsome set of speakers you wont be dissappointed with them should you win Joe
  3. so im setting here wandering why my newly accquired k-horns sound worse than my belles or scalas that kei, i look at the originals and notice hey this one does alsoth has me holding for him, i strike a deal to keep the new bec refurbished crossovers from keiths scalas leaving him with just the original al X-overs i take one of the AA's by BEC and start installing it thinking all the while it has to be the crossovers i get to the mid wires and i notice hey this new x-over has 4 sets of inputs i look at the original x-overs and say hey this has 4 also HMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!! i was in such a hurry to geet these set up and hear the awsome sound i just knew i would hear i connected the inputs from the vrd directly to the bass bin with the bass leads bypassing the crossovers all togeather, except i guess for the occasional stray signal that would make its oun path i admit this freely and without malice so let the stones fly!!!!!!!!!!! now for The good news my k-horns now sound better with the crossovers included in the loop, go figure!!!!!! and to think it only took 4 days to find this SNAFU, IS THIS HOW YOU KNOW YOU ARE GETTING OLDER???????????? Joe
  4. larry if you want more bass with the dynaco just forego all the stops in between and get k-horns, i cant put into words the differance in bass i get now with the horns, i do have a small sub woofer that is just gathering dust that should compliment your set up, (it is a klipsch 8" with a 50 watt amp case has been redone in birch with a light stain and varnish) till you save up enough for your next move in audio. would loan it to you or sell it for 75.00 the model is KM-S Joe
  5. i had a thorens 160 and it was a decent table without a doubt, but alas it left me wanting more, so moving up was never a question after hearing a better table (gary,s basis to be exact) i now have a basis 1400 and couldnt be happier well not that i know of yet!!!!!!! Joe
  6. this was a steal deal, one thing of concern though. this is a very fragile table arm set up and if not shipped exactly as was originally packed there is a great chance it will get damaged, i would suggest contacting the seller and trying to be sure it will be packed properly and of particular concern would be to have the arm tied down and the 2 shipping screws from below in place before shipped , FYI this table regularly brings in excess of 400.00 used so yes you did good Joe
  7. just a thought i have, was wondering if any one would be interested in a thread dedicated to listing vinyl that we would have and be willing to trade for whatever someone else may post for trade. not interested in making money on this in fact each person should pay to ship there trades by an agreed upon method, and albums graded according to goldmine standards SO WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK???????? Joe
  8. yes they are huge but sound great, Odd thing though the scalas & belles sounded better with vinyl and the k-horns seem to sound better with cd. still along way to get a real idea of the sound Joe
  9. the ouner had a 3rd party store sale the horns for him and as it is a retail outlet and i was picking them up i had to pay va state tax, yes larry all done for awhile. To beat what i now have would cost tons more than i have in $$$$$$$ and i have more albums than i know what to do with just accquired more classic rock that were doubles of some i have they are in great shape think i am going to try to start a music trade thread, you know this is what i have what do you have and are there any i have you want type thing we will have to see how the new forum format works i guess, the last stack of classic rock vinyl my daughter tok home with her a couple days before you asked for the list Joe
  10. your belles are stacked in a corner out of the way, of course i guess i should have put some padding between them , you think???????? kidding they are fine, by the way priscilla said she thinks mine is bigger than yours (k-horns that is) enya sounds freekin awsome on these boys the bass is crazy deep Joe
  11. went from heresy's to cornwalls, to la scalas, to belles, and now the big dogs 1975 K-Horns (they will be here a long long LONG TIME) MUST SAY THE BASS IN THE K-HORNS IS VERY NICE INDEED. checked all the components they are all original and all seem to work very well, the cabinets are in very good shape which supprised me a little i was expecting worse by the pics, seems to be a pair of well cared for and loved horns, dont know why the ouner decided to sell but i sure am happy they did. 1450.00 with tax for a very nice pair of 1975 all original walnut k-horns is a SMOKIN DEAL, almost as good as thebes marantz 8b deal. will listen for awhile before i give a impression of the sound Joe P.S. THESE THINGS ARE HUGE
  12. WILL DO LYNN, GLAD YOU ARE ENJOYING THAT SHELF. I HAVE COME CLOSE TO OUTGROWING MINE, ITS FULL AND I HAVE ABOUT 700 R&B ALBUMS TO GO THRU YETPLUS A FEW OLD EASY LISTENING ALBUMS. JOE
  13. "my k-horns were cheaper than yours, THEY WERE FREE" THATS JUST NOT RIGHT NOT SURE I CAN MAKE IT THRU THE DAY NOW JOE
  14. to bad there are so many nut cases on the bay, i recently sold a yamaha px 3 TT to a goy that started telling me how he guaranteed it would be damaged even before he received the thing and of course after he got it he started telling me how he wanted his money back now not thru a money order as he paid with, and then he refuses to send it back , funny thing is after i mentioned serial# matching and him returning it in same condition he received it he went off the deep end I FEEL YOUR PAIN joe
  15. domestic yuck bliss HUH!!!!!! well at least i have k-horns and they are twins i might add Joe

Probably the same setup with the B model. Hmmm . . . you beat me by 2 seconds! ---------------- beat you by 2 seconds huh!! were you going to bid against a brother forum member? i had a substancially higher bid in than the winning one. i was supprised tey stayed as low as they did. i would apolagize for beating you by 2 seconds but i'm really not sorry i have been lusting after a set of k-horns ever since i heard garys over a year agoi will have ouned all the heritage line speakers now but will be keeping these for sure. my room is to small, and i dont know where i will put half the crap i have to move bot i will struggle thru somehow Joe
  22. heading out tomarrow to get my k-horns finally yes yes YES!!!!!!!! seems to be an awsome deal have to let the belles go but i guess i will make it thru somehow. belles for k-horns thats a pretty good trade the belles are already sold to a forum member and the price of those covered the k-horns only out tax's and road expenses. 220 miles round trip, can any of you tell me how hard it is to remove the top horn section for transport, and how tall the lower section is by itself thanks and i will of course post a thread of my thoughts after i get them set up Joe
  23. IS THAT WHAT YOU WOULD CALL AMP ENVY !!!!!!!!! JOE AND THANKS PAUL FOR THE INFORMATION I SEE WHAT YOU WERE SAYING (THOUGHT I GOT LUCKY THERE, BUT ATLEAST I DID GET A MINT COPY OF 2 VIRGINS ) JOE
