  1. If you are happy with the speakers i'd keep them. Although more to the low end of receivers, I had pretty good luck an Onkyo and ksf 8.5s a few years back. I've heard HK do well too, which is probably what i will be upgrading to next.
  2. Happy new year - thanks for all the advice last year everyone! the HT has come a long way. And although it will probably never be more than a work in progress things sound (and look) pretty awesome cheers
  3. Thanks for the advice, that's basically my plan. And although for me half the fun is the hunt, I have had my fun hunting and now it's time to get one in my living room! []
  4. I've been looking for a single chorus for what seems like forever, but probably in reality is about a month now - talk about a needle in a haystack. Seems they only show up either halfway or completely across the country from me with local pickup only. Is there anyone else in this situation that wants to team up if a pair show up for a reasonable price? I only need 1, for a center. This would be for a chorus 1. Also, does anyone have one for sale or know of someone who does? Thanks!!
  5. Tracy Chapman is another good one.
  6. I'm hoping santa can get his hands on a single Chorus for a center. An xbox 360 or a Wii to play on my projector wouldnt be bad either
  7. ha thanks. speakers on top of the entertainment center looks pretty badass. How did they sound laying on the side? I know it's probably not a fair comparison because they are up pretty high, but if i get a 3rd chorus for a center and turn it on its side, any idea how that would affect the sound?
  8. Got a single Chorus 2 for sale but none of the original flavor. I think im going to hold off for a closer match. Plus you couldnt be farther away from me for shipping! haha. Thanks anyways though.
  9. yeah, that double chorus setup is pretty awesome. Ha, i just said to my fiance 'well i can 4 of these in a row, or 3' I think getting a chorus for a center will be awesome, cant wait!
  10. For folks using multiple, are you splitting your LFE channel signal into multiple paths or are you placing the sub in the amplified path before your speakers? Or, do you all have nice pre/pros with multiple bass outs []
  11. Seems like a bunch of people are using chorus for 2ch but klf for HT. What makes the klf better suited for HT use? Is it just the lack of an easy to find center for the Chorus?
  12. Thanks for the offer, I wouldnt go through all that trouble though. These pics have helped me overcome the size factor on these. In fact, im even planning on getting 1 more chorus for a center. If anyone has got a single chorus 1 for sale please let me know [] Thanks everyone!
  13. I agree, ive had plenty of onkyos with klipsch speakers and i like the combo. They arent too bright, id say they're fairly neutral. For the money they are a great deal, however i am definately looking forward to the days when i can afford separates.
  14. Tone is definately good - i find myself listening to bass lines now more than ever. Especially stuff that my old band had recorded in the studio when i used a nice bass. its unreal. I had my klf-10s in the same spot though last week and they just sounded fuller. Not as detailed, but fuller. I think with my sub hooked up i will have the best of both worlds. Too bad the sub output on this receiver just crapped out on me.
  15. Thanks for all the replys. knowing now how big those klf-30s are (i thought theyd be on par with the 10s) it looks like i might get to keep the choruses after all! Still would consider a trade if anyone is interested, but for now it looks like i have overcome the WAF in this matter In fact, i have even brought up my plans to get a 3rd chorus as a center, which was met with less resistance than i thought! Unfortunately now i have to find a single chorus in new england, probably not the easiest thing to do. Oh yeah, one thing that did surprise me about the chorus is the lack of bass. Although its cleaner, meaning that i can really hear the notes and tone of the bass guitar, there is absolutely no 'thump'. Not a huge deal because I have a sub, but i was a bit surprised. Other than that, really love these speakers!
  16. So the 30s then are much bigger than the klf-10s? I have 10s now and the choruses are just about twice the width.
  17. Hi again, Ever-impatient, i am already looking to replace the chorus Is I just picked up. While definately more accurate then my klf-10s, they did not pass the WAF test. Although not forced to sell, i am open to the possibility of selling or considering trades involving klf-20 or 30s. Im in the boston-area. Also if anyone else wants to chime in about how the 20s and 30s compare to the choruses please feel free. Ive read a couple of opinions but they were from a few years back, anyone have anything new to add? Will i be disappointed after getting rid of the choruses? Thanks so much! PS dont tear me to pieces about the 'projector screen'. It's only temporary!!! []
  18. So i picked up some nice Chorus I's last week while my fiance was out of town. nice speakers. lets just say she doesnt appreciate the size and shape of these monsters in our tiny tv room. Anyone have any pics of chorus, forte or quartet in your set up that looks nice, that way i can show her in a bigger room they will fit right in? Otherwise these speakers are going to have to go, bummer.
  19. I bought a refurbished 32" lcd from phillips. I couldnt be happier. It was about 700 bucks. I'd recommend checking them out. www.philipsoutlet.com On a tv that small, i doubt youd really need 1080p. Then again, ive never seen 1080p so take my opinion with a grain of salt Best of luck!
  20. Thanks! Having both the C7 and the Academy I can say that there is not a huge difference at all. I have the C7 set up with my choruses right now and it is a very close match. Cant wait to set up the Academy though!
  21. Just picked up some Chorus I's WOOHOO!! Although i couldnt crank em because i got back pretty late and didnt want to freak out the neighbors, even at low volumes i noticed a difference from my KLF-10s. I love the KLFs, and although these have a similar tone, I actually noticed a backup vocal track on a CD that i'd never heard before. Isn't that somethin! Anyways, because i have an Academy that im going to use, my KLF-C7 is now up for sale. I want to get $350 for it, which is market price. Sorry I cant offer it to you good folks for cheaper, but i have to pay for those choruses and need to buy some gifts for xmas for my understanding fiance. Boy are those choruses taking up a lot of living room real estate. I figured you all should get the first crack at the c7 before the auction crowd incase anyone wants one. It is in awesome shape. I can send hi-res pics if you are interested in seeing more. Also in case you are wondering, its in front of my LCD not underneath! I will ship it and pack it so very carefully, but if anyone is within driving distance to Boston, I am less than an hour north (seacoast NH) and would be happy to let you audition it here, or could even meet somewhere convenient. If you do want it shipped then it will be no more than 40 bucks to the 48 states. If it is then ill pay the difference. If it's less i'll send you back the few bucks through paypal I've got the boxes and packaging from the academy so the cost will be shipping only. Thanks!
  22. Hi again, I found some Chorus I on epay on the cheap (i think anyways), and i have a black academy kicking around at home, so it looks like my KLF system is going to be sold in the upcoming months (at least that was my justification for buying the chorus) Problem is, and dont be offended, but I am not a fan of the oak finishes. I like black, as it seems more modern to me. Plus the Academy is in black. Will these be worth significantly less if i paint them black? Also, should i expect to see night and day difference between the chorus and the klf-10? I am sure hoping so. Thanks for any advice!

    CARS

Seems like all pixar movies have such good surround sound. I remember Incredibles being great too.
