  1. another stamp on the back in upper right says USA
  2. I picked these up from a garage sale today but there is no paper on the back to identify with these. IS there anyone here who can tell me more about these ? There are stamps on the top of the back of each of them as follows 101U069 and 95U881
  3. sweet setup..those new heresys are quite nice... but does everyone that own them go old school with the amps? and spin records?
  4. thanks for the advice Richard...still thinking on it
  5. wish i could blow my wad on the III's old buck but im a bargain hunter...have two kids, i have to be. ive had at least 15 klipsch floor speakers and as many center bookshelf and subs. All were purchased at bargain prices...My first speakers I bought new were CF-2's i paid a big bank note on those but when i went to sell them there was no market..i didnt get but 300 bucks for them...i said never again will i spend that much on new gear. and seeing that i always like to change speakers and hear new sounds Its better i just wait and find good deals. I sure would love to hear those III's though. they look sweeet
  6. I had some heresy II's a while ago, and i thought my kg 4.2's blew them away. But when i look back on it and have come along way in speaker knowledge i realize its because i had them hooked up to a denon 1803. I went to sell them for 250 and ppl were jumping all over it..i was wondering why all the fuse..these speakers suck LOL . Now over time i realize i made a misake getting rid of them.. ive got to get them back..But this time its going to be the earlier ones...im looking at these (locally) what do you guys think ? http://cgi.ebay.com/KLIPSH-HERESY-LOUDSPEAKER-SYSTEM-EXCELLENT-SOUND-PAIR_W0QQitemZ180226003133QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item180226003133... he says its all original
  7. its really unbeleivable that so many of these are tampered with..its really a complicated and technical issue when u go to buy these..so many variables......BSUfbfan i think the Y in that serial number means those are the heresy II's if im not mistaken.. as far as the k-55 drivers... G Kennedy said that they started changing over those drivers in the late Heresy I's. so it could very well be stock equipment.. im just not sure if those are heresy I's or II's
  8. ya i see what you mean...and hes asking a premium dollar for it too..or close to it.......Theres an aquantince of mine i bought 3 pairs of klfs from him, he lives in san jose .... he has six pairs of heresys..hes willing to sell me a pair cheap because im a return customer. with the info i got here i can go threw his inventory and know what im looking for..... one thing i noted in the specs on these heresys...they dont get down real low in bass...somewhere in the 50;s...but have a 116db SPL accoustic output,,, im very interested in matching a pair up with a good sub that digs down low and hard...I think it will be an awesome set up to have..ive been missing out man i know it...you guys that have owned these vintage speakers have been enjoying some good music...
  9. you guys are very helpful in providing all the information a heresy seeker would need on his journey. Im a little worried about that capacitor thing..if theyre starting to dry out it could be a reason for some ppl to sell..ill be aware of that. On the other note... the 1975 thru 1980's i believe is what im looking for. A good friend of mine compared the change from heresy I's to II's is like when the corvette went from the big block v8 to the small block in the 80's. I took his advice because he is a friend..And it looks like most of you agree the I's had the better gear under the hood Wish i could afford those III's...maybe someday
  10. Thanks G K!!! thats the info im lookin for ...ty ty
  11. thanks G. K...what i would really like to is what am i looking for on the label...ic different types like HOO and HBR .. or what serial numbers would I be looking for. I want the best heresys klipsch made..but i need some more advice...
  12. Can someone tell me what heresy type was the best klipsch had produced....once someone told me to make sure to get the ones made before 1985...im not sure i dont remember clearly.. Is there anyone here that knows the best years klipsch manufactured them..and if so..how do i recognize them...ty!
  13. hmm now im curious...we need a klipsch rep to help answer this question. where are one of those guys when u need them[*-)]
  14. the old label might have peeled off and he just made a new one from the old one.(kinda odd being so new though) . ive bought a few floor speakers that didnt even have labels at all..as long as everything else is original it shouldnt stop anyone from buying it.. IMO
  15. oh nvm i just read hodgesj post...will tune in thanks for the heads up
  16. im looking for a website that might have the episode archived ..is there anyone out there that knows a site where we can watch it....anyone computer swavy enough...I mean if its all legal to do so... i found this site Episode: Klipsch Bike Program: American Chopper OCC builds a bike for Klipsch Audio Technologies but staffing shortages in the shop has the crew scrambling and Senior must hire new people. http://www.tv.com/american-chopper/klipsch-bike/episode/1166687/summary.html?tag=ep_list;rating;8
  17. i love the color picked on this..I had a vision myself the rim design would look exactly like that..its awesome..The fabrication is great..the only thing that strikes me is its kinda left blank..I thought thered be a horn attatched to the handle bars or tank somewhere...or some logos of the heritage speakers..or something..just looks a little plane... I still give it an 8 outta 10...if u were to ask me....ITs awesome!!
  18. I just bought the Denon 2805 and i love it..i love that AL24 processing..but im really stumped on what would be the best setting for home theater and music..this speaker configuration EQ setting and frequency setting has all got me totally confused lol...please someone tell me whats the best settings for this reciever..Im running RF 35's all the way around with a RC35 center
  19. I just got threw upgrading my system to the 7.1 channel pro logicII extc extc... I added some nice Klipsch bookshelf for rear effects and i got RF35's all the way around with the Rc35 center. Although my topic here is recievers. I went to goodguys and started with the Denon 2801..It sounded great but thought id go up since i had 30 days to exchange. I went to the THX Yahmaha for 999.99...Then decided to go with the Denon 3801. After testing all these out my conclusion was the Denon 2801 was just more practical and easier to navigate with good sound. The Yamaha was to bright and the denon 3801 was nice but just a bit more difficult to operate. Its like u gotta be a frikin technician to setup the audio options on those high end amps... Is there anyone else out there that agrees with me ..and just decides to go with the more practical amps because the high end amps are too safisticated??
