  1. Okay i am a overseas consumer...........and i love the retro 50's look ! But i agree with DeanG: but to me it looks more like a dustbin. I still love mine Black LaScala's...........I hope they don't mess up with new Heritage line . Bennyboy
  2. And jim, Play Machine Gun from the "Band of Gypsy's" album.......when you feel bad. BUT STAY Away from the drugs..........haha ! Bennyboy
  3. Jim, Still waiting on Trey Cannon to help us out..........[:-*] Bennyboy,
  4. Chris, You make it much to difficult........... Besides with so many questions it's hard to respond. But i will try to make it easy for you with my funny Englisch from the Netherlands. Forget the Vifa and Scanspeak shit and certainly not the ribbon stuff. Because they sound thin and shrill [:@] A real Klipsch fan will hear the things for real. As a drumset player i know how a snaredrum sounds. Not the high volume of it but a snaredrum is a very complex sound. You will not a dome tweeter for this specific sound. This is just one example there is so many more.............. You will a new front channel ; how is your back channel ?? The RC7 is just perfect for the center but i would prefer the RF25 or even the RF15 as a front channel. You can use a RC7 but cost more as a RF25........ And a RF25 looks nicer as a front speaker. Technical is there nothing wrong with a polymer chassis it is even better then Die Cast Alu. Polymer has less ringing.......... I think it would be nice (wise) to by first Klipsch speakers before you will make an appeal to DeanG. I am sure he will help you out but you have to listen first . Then you can deside what has to be done or changed. I hope this help you .... Bennyboy
  5. The premiere serie has the looks of the TAG mcLaren........... Benny
  6. To Jacksonbart, I am not sure what you mean. But i think the speaker is damaged when he felt down to the floor. So you can see the speakerbaffle is made from a fiber composite like a formule 1 racingcar....... Benny
  7. To Larry, The picture was taken on the IFA 2005 in Berlin (Germany). The man with the long hair behind the Khorn is Werner Enge. He is a Klipsch dealer in Germany . Look at his site : http://www.klipsch-direct.de/ Somewhere on the forum have i found this site. Benny
  8. Has anyone seen this already............ Look at the La-Scala : it's like a Belle-Klipsch. The top of the Khorn is a bit lower but i coold be wrong. When it is lower then the question is what is in there......... Bennyboy Okay mine englisch isn't that good , sorry
  9. Dean, Okay ,forgive me for mine bad englisch. But sure i have a great respect for you guys ! And i know you have the best intention to make pretty stuff. I bought mine La-Scala speakers brandnew whith the AL-4 network. The first set wasn't okay ,the network didn't work fine and one driver (K55x) didn't have the same output as the other. So the importer gave me a new set.But it was actual not better. So i did go my own way . Many crossovers have i tried. I spent a lot of money to get the speakers right. Some measurements took place . Finally i read the forum . So in the end i went back from an AL-4 network to an constant impedance "A-series" network from AL Klappenberger. In mine opinion is 1800 dollar a lot of money for an AK-4 upgrade. I don't think there is much different in the AL-4 and AK-4. And i think you guys do a better job here. Maybe it is better for me not to get involved here and stay away. Thank you
  10. Thank you Guys, You are extremely fast just like horns supposed to be...... Now i am sure i can get somewhere . Ben
  11. I have bought a pair 1977 Heresys and i was aware that there were bad tweeters in them. But i just thought they could repaired easy. But the tweeters are in a condition that it would be better to look on eBay either round or square .Here in Europe i found nothing so i bought a pair in California for 150 dollar and let them send to the Netherlands (that explain mine englisch).Anyway, it cost me 179.55 and import cost of $20 finally almost 200 dollar. And do they tweet ? NO !! The guy assured me that they were in good condition and good working. When i contact him he only wil pay me back $150 when i send them back. I don't think this is fair because i payed him 179.55 whit Paypal. Question are there any Forum Members nearby Alhambra(California) because i can not swim across the Ocean............ I have a pair La-Scala's and wil use Heresys for surround but it wil be very difficult to move forwards. Now i have four tweeters maybe i can make one good pair . Any suggestions ? Thank you Ben
  12. And to all , The worst thing is that most think that those changes are an upgrade again .....ha ha ah haaa !!!! Trey Cannon just went back to Atlas again and just bought the PD-5VH which they had for years........ And built again the cheapest crossover like the Ak-4 and AL-4 And now you have the bass coming from the midrange and there is no crossover between the midrange and Tweeter ! And over ten or maybe fifteen years we are going to rebuild those AK-4 thing over and thinking how the good old times were...... I don't think a speaker sounds when he does you are on the wrong way. I rather think a speaker performs And whit the equipment of Al Klappenberger he performs at his BEST ! Ben
  13. Listen to the Radio ...............? He is tuning his favourite country channel...
  14. Al, I am not surprised of the results from you !! There is a big gap between the midrange and tweeter crossover . When you have seen strange things in the analysis then it is correct... Besides it is a very wild crossover. The midrange go's to a frequency of 4500 then the tweeter should take over Which he does not.He starts to tweet round 5000 Hz and much to loud !!! I think it is important to take the maximum out of the midrange . The only thing the tweeter has to do is make it crisp (and do not quack) It is easy to change some caps to set the crossover and flatten out the frequency curve .But it make the impedance load even worse! I sure hope you get an AK-4 crossover to take some measurements. Ben
  15. Coytee, When you go for a hornloadedspeaker design then you want maximum benefit of your amplifier ! So when you go for the AK-4 filter design is the same as walking up the mountain.Because it is a very bad filter-design. The impedance load go's up to 15 ohm in the high and midrange. That is not what the amplifier want to see. And that is not the only thing, it sound very bad too. Even when you use the best component it don't change the design. When your driver is okey you don't need a new one. It's the same as Atlas always has made. The factory went back to Atlas because Electrovoice make this driver any more. So it is not that complicated : You only need a good filter design. The ALK-ES is............ Ben
