  1. I agree with everyone about the RF-35s.....I'd go out and demo them for yourself though......
  2. I've had that problem with my DirecTV HD receiver......try rebooting the receiver.....should clear it up..... let me know if it doesn't work and I can give you some more suggestions..
  3. I have also used the EZset on my HK DPR 1001, but I found that I had to run it 2 or 3 times to properly balance it......I have an RC-35 and it always sounds clear and for everything I have watched the balance has been great.

I have heard about the problems with DPR 1001, but I just got it about a month ago for under $300, so that was a good bargain for me. I figure if a channel blows out, then I will be able to swap it under warranty. I didn't have the money to go for expensive electronics and decent speakers, so that's why I spent my money of the RF-35s and RC-35 instead..... I think I'll be getting the RS-35s next, hopefully followed quickly with a new sub....
  5. what size SVS sub would you recommend for 12x12 basement? The PB10 or PB 12? I think I'm down to this or a set of RS-35s.....i think i'll forget about the separate amp for now.
  6. SVS is only available through the web, right? I have a hard time spending that kind of money without being able to demo things.....any other suggestions for brands besides SVS and Klipsch(my 1st choice)?
  7. yeah, i'm very interested, but would like to know the price!
  8. All online dealers must also have actual stores....vanns.com has retail stores in Montana.....
  9. Can anyone tell me what the MSRPs are for some of the Klipsch subs?
  10. Thanks for the advice....I have been unhappy with my KLH subwoofer, although it could be just bbe because I don't have it set up correctly. It never seemed to blend very well and seemed overbearing at times...... So what kind of improvement would I get by going with a seperate amp and using my HK DPR 1001 as a pre/pro?
  11. I'm looking for some advice on what to upgrade next in my 7.1 HT setup. I just bought a HK DPR 1001 and a pair of RF-35s and an RC-35. I'm currently using a KLH subwoofer, Sony floor speakers as my sides and some sony bookshelf speakers as my rear. What upgrade would get me the most bang for the buck? I'm thinking of changing the side speakers to RS-35 next, but I'm looking for some opinions.....maybe getting a seperate amp?
  12. Let me tell you there is a huge difference.....I bought the Synergy series from Best Buy to demo first.....sounded ok, but lacked the bass and full sounf I wanted....so I went to demo the reference at a local dealer.... I walked out that day with RF-35 and RC-35 and returned the Synergy. I don't think you can go wrong with the Reference....definitely worth the extra money.
  13. Klipsch customer service is outstanding......I e-mailed about my dealer isssues and they took care of it very quickly......
  14. Also, it's great to buy from a store, so you can demo them and insure you like them.....no online retailers will be able to do this effectively....
  15. DEALER TYPE: Retail Store PRODUCT LINES: Reference I'd strongly recommend buying from an authorized dealer.....read my thread below......I looked at factorydirectsound.com and acousticsounddesign.com, but you get no warranty and aren't guaranteed to get real speakers..... If you're worried about price, always try to negotiate with the dealers.....I was able to get a very good price on my RF-35s and RC-35....
  16. Well I did finally end up buying from an authorized dealer for a good price......after a lot of hassle that I described in another thread. Basically, I went to one place (Sound Images in Bethesda MD) to demo the Reference series.....however the salesman refused to let me listen to these speakers....instead he pushed me towars PSB speakers (decent, but NOt what I wanted).....So I had to drive an extra half hour to second store in the chain to listen (unfortunately they didn't have the RF-5s the other store had, only RF-35). Anyway, I ended up buying from an authorized store and I am MUCH happier about it......I love my RF-35s.......
  17. The only reason I gave my money to the Falls Church location was that I was treated extremely well there....they didn't try to sell me a new receiver like the other location did (HK DPR 1001) and they were actually encouraging me to get Klipsch after discussing my needs..... It just sucks that some people will not be shown Klipsch based upon one guy's "expert advice" Also, I should point out that the one store in Bethesda is run by one guy, so there was no manager to go to......I think I'll also bring this up with the manager of the location where I bought things.... Is there a 1-800 numbers for such matters at Klipsch?
  18. So I was having a hard time this weekend trying to demo some Reference series speakers in my area.....I went to one of the few authorized dealers (there are 4 or 5 in a 50 mile radius) and the salesman refused to let me demo the Klipsch speakers(this was at Sound Images in Bethesda MD)....instead he steered me towards some PSB speakers.....they were decent, but not what I wanted. Needless to say I left mad and went to the other Sound Images in Falls Church VA. I now own the RF-35 and RC-35 speakers. So I e-mailed support@klipsch.com, but wanted to know if there was anything else I can do and how seriously will Klipsch take complaints about dealers? I was very disappointed and almost didn't end up with what I wanted......let me know if there are suggestions on how I could follow up on this. thanks!
  19. I just wanted to say after a few hours of tweaking my system with the new RF-35s.....the difference is amazing! I am getting a much fuller sound out of these and they sound perfect..... Now I'm wondering about my receiver setup....I currently have a HK DPR 1001 with 50W/channel. Some of the dealers have almost convinced me to return my HK and upgrade to a Denon or and NAD.....any thoughts?
  20. well i just bought the RF-35.....I think I'm very happy with them(we'll see after a weekend of testing). Is $1150 a good price for a pair of RF-35 and a RC-35? It's about $100 more expensive than I've found online and it has hte 5 year warantee.....
  21. so you think $800/pair is a good price for the RF-35? I'm looking for some input on any good online dealers for the reference series!
  22. Does anyone here have experience with factorydirectsound.com or acousticsounddesign.com? They offer reference series cheaper than most other places...... Also, does anywhere have the new Synergy series besides Best Buy? vanns.com only sells the old synergy speakers.
  23. I currently have a Synergy F2 I bought to test out, but I have noticed that the sound isn't as full as when I had a demo in store. My question is, do the reference series sound more full? Just for info, I am using a HK DPR 1001. thanks!
