  1. Because of the way the living room is layed out I wont be able to use the cornwalls, the TV will take too much of the room. I did see the klipsch HD theater 500 on craigslist which might work, I want to keep the cornwalls but will have to store them for a period of time.
  2. Thanks for the reply, I've not been on the forum here for a few years. The room will be about 12x15, small house, the budget will be slim, I dont want to spend more then 2K really, but might if I buy the components separately. What I really need is a bit of direction for home theater systems, THX? Dolby? whats stable, whats obsolete, what do I need to look out for while shopping for components, The room is going to be small so I dont want huge speakers. are some of the wireless systems worth looking at or is the sound crap?
  3. The HT I have is old and finally died the other day so it got tossed and I sold off the old speakers, So; I would like some ideas for a nice home theater system. the only speakers I have currently have left is a pair of Cornwall Verticals that I picked up some years ago, the problem is I'm moving next month and the living room is much smaller and there wont be room for them. I can store them but I'm considering selling them in order to buy a new HT system. The TV is a 52" sony Bravia. I havent looked at HT stuff in years so I'm starting to do my homework and thought I'd ask here for some idea's.
  4. Thats why I got rid of the wife. hehe, no really I did get rid of her, not for that exact reason but....
  5. I posted this once before, In the local bargan trader someone is selling a huge collection. It seems its still available. here is a link. http://www.bargaintraderonline.com/caddetail.html?/ad-cache/7/2/3/85112123.htm
  6. lol, yea some people should never touch a paintbrush or spraycan. I have a pair of cornwall II's that were my ex father-inlaw's. He slapped a coat of black paint and put wheels on them, he used them in a DJ business years ago. They are chipped and dinged so when I have the time and money I'll refurbish them.
  7. pic's for anyone interested, Yes there in rough shape, thats how I got them, the ex father-inlaw is an idiot. I may just wait till I have room in the garage to refinish them. Hmmm, OR decorators for fronts, cbr II's for rear, Just need a couple of Heresy's for center and surounds [] http://outer-reef.com\images\DSCN1769.JPG http://outer-reef.com\images\DSCN1770.JPG http://outer-reef.com\images\DSCN1771.JPG http://outer-reef.com\images\DSCN1772.JPG http://outer-reef.com\images\DSCN1773.JPG http://outer-reef.com\images\DSCN1774.JPG http://outer-reef.com\images\DSCN1775.JPG http://outer-reef.com\images\DSCN1776.JPG http://outer-reef.com\images\DSCN1777.JPG http://outer-reef.com\images\DSCN1778.JPG http://outer-reef.com\images\DSCN1779.JPG http://outer-reef.com\images\DSCN1780.JPG http://outer-reef.com\images\DSCN1781.JPG http://outer-reef.com\images\DSCN1782.JPG
  8. I use auctionsniper, I find that if I use ebay's proxy bid there are those that will constantly nickle and dime the bid up till you hit your limit. This practice is used by the seller using multiple ebay id's to push the price of their product up, Its not accepted by ebay but sellers get away with it. The good thing about auctionsniper is you don't have to keep hitting the page to see what the price is or if your still the highest bidder. so the page counter won't go up quickly. If I see a page counter climb I know others are looking at this item and the bidding may get hot. With a snipe bid program I just but the max amount I want to bid on the item but it will only bid that amount in the last 4 or 5 seconds so it works the same as a proxy bid but keeps the loosers from nickling me to death.
  9. Mike, seems the firewall/spam gremlins got the email, I sent you another you can use.
  10. LOL, You So Funny! My ex=father in-law moved back to NY thank GOD!!!!!! and the ex-wife is moving back there this week! Hmm, Maybe I should be having a party! []
  11. Mike, I'll be taking pictures tomorrow and post them or send them to you on Sunday sometime
  12. I have a pair of Cornwall II's, CBR, that were my ex father inlaws. He used them for years in a DJ business, painted them black and put wheels put on the bottom for rolling around. They have scuffs and small chips from the veneer. I wanted to restore them but simply don't have the time or space for such a project. I will take pictures this weekend. I'd like $500 you pick up, I don't have the time to deal with shipping. I'll hold them if you need time, I'll drive a couple hours to meet half way. Im located near Orlando, FL John
  13. Hmmm.. Mr George Wright's constraint, patience and business ethics with this idiot convinced me as to what my next brand of amps will be.
  14. Dang, wish I had the clams for those! they would fit better in my new house. []
