  1. Way too much for this room. Have tried large speakers such as Tekton Lores and they overpower the room. Not to mention that they are heavy, which is what I am trying to avoid.
  2. I currently have a pair of RP 160M's that I am really enjoying. They seem to be loading my 13 x 17 living room perfectly with deep bass and a nice, effortless presentation. My only complaint is that I get the best results moving them 3-4 feet out into the room. This is becoming a pain because my stands are sand filled and really heavy. I don't have the option of leaving them out in the room permanently as they would block foot traffic. One solution I am considering is getting a pair of 4000f mini towers. They would be infinitely easier to move, but I am wondering if I would retain the great bass with two 4" drivers. They are rated to have deeper bass response, but that doesn't always tell the story. Anyone heard these little towers and care to chime in?
  3. No affiliation with sale. https://syracuse.craigslist.org/ele/d/watertown-klipsch-lascala-2s/6915279830.html
  4. BTW...the price paid, per the receipt on 4/24/1990, was $760 + tax.
  5. Thanks, I’m very pleased.
  6. Well, I lucked out. The HII's I looked at were a solid 9 out of 10. Really, I could not find a flaw in the cabinets or grilles. Original owner also had all sales receipts, manuals, Klipsch dealer list etc, which is interesting to look at. They are singing in my family room now!
  7. Thanks for the advice. Just what I was looking for.
  8. Lol, I guess my expectations are low because I don’t think any photos look good on CL. But the condition looks excellent from what I can see.
  9. I am going to audition them tomorrow morning. https://syracuse.craigslist.org/ele/d/central-square-klipsch-heresy-ii/6888557184.html
  10. I am interested in a pair with raw birch/poly finish. They look pretty good.
  11. Hi - I have been searching for a pair of Heresy or Heresy II’s and would like to pair them with a subwoofer. First of all, is $500 a reasonable expectation of what I will pay for a single owner pair in excellent condition? Also, which Klipsch subwoofer would you choose to partner them with for music? Room is not large, but is bass challenged because of a 12’ cathedral ceiling.
  12. Could be, but I don’t think so. I had a good conversation with one of the sellers. I kind of expected them to counter somewhere in the middle. Like I said, not the end of the world. I still think a pair of Heresy’s, with my subwoofer, will be the best match in my room. As I stated in an earlier thread, the RP160M’s are pretty amazing to my ears in this context. I do appreciate the comments from the forum experts, though, and now know to follow up on any Quartets in the future.
  13. Regarding the comparison between the Heresy and Quartet, I realize that the Heresy doesn’t go as low in the bass region as others in the Heritage line. But my room has always had nightmarish bass peaks and, for the first time, I am getting great results with an Elac subwoofer with an EQ feature. So positive are the results with a pair of RP160M’s, that I was thinking that Heresy’s would give me that Heritage midrange while saving on space and $$$, comparatively speaking. Of course, if Quartets or Fortes showed up at a reasonable price, I will take a look. Just thought I would explain my thought process...
  14. That’s a great price. Before the seller informed me that the speakers were already sold, she immediately accepted my offer of $300 - making it all the more frustrating. Oh well, win some, lose some...there will be other opportunities.
  15. Lol...I made an offer and it was accepted. 5 minutes later, the seller reached out to say her spouse had already sold them. Snoozing, losing etc.
  16. Good question, I will ask. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
  17. Seller is asking $500, but that seems a little high to me...mulling it over.
  18. I have been looking for a used pair of Heresy IIs, but a pair of Quartets is available locally. I’ve never heard Quartets so I would appreciate any feedback. Also, the seller used them in a 3000 sq. ft. commercial gym; would this be a deal killer for you? He is telling me that they were on elevated platforms and are quite dusty.
  19. Can I ask why you prefer the H1’s over the H2’s?
  20. Wow, just stunning. I’ve never heard Cornscalas, I bet they are amazing.
  21. Yes, tubes and Klipsch are a natural match. I had a Quad VA-One integrated last year and wish I had it back to pair with the 160’s.
  22. Very nice system. It must sound great...
