  1.

Keep in mind the "cornscala" isn't a Klipsch product.  .

Before the forum conversion I had the original threads identified and bookmarked where Bob Crites was building a "test box" set up; and a parallel thread where he first "coined" the term "CornScala" in reference to the test box (that ultimately morphed into the various CornScala products on his site).  I haven't had a chance to "re-find" those threads since the old bookmark links no longer work.

    I bought bob's 1st set after the test boxes........awesome

  2. I have been bummed out this week getting back in town on Saturday and reading about Boxx on Sunday. On Tuesday, trying to get past it, I unhooked the McIntosh SS amp and pre, hooked up the ARC tubes and AND HOOKED UP THE OLD B&O 4002, everything worked, wonder how that happened. Been spinning vinyl since Tuesday, sounds good. No enhanced bass, just a full sound you can

let yourself fall into. Out doing errands a couple of mornings ago, saw the (most interesting) beer ad on a bar wall, well at least I started out the trip doing errands, thought of Boxx and all his steady effort and knowledge.

Welcome to the forum. I've met several folks here...........great people. Sounds like you would fit in nicely.

  3. Well, after viewing the pictures of the crossovers, I've determined:

    1. That they're ugly. No Klipsch speaker is permitted to have ugly networks.

    2. Obviously stolen from the original set of "Alien".

    3. Soldering was performed with a propane torch.

    4. Assembled while viewing the schematic upside down.

I know, I'm too harsh. Sorry. The Klipschorns are a gorgeous though.

Is there any fix for this?

  4. Oh great Youthman now I have to sound like I know what I'm talking about, I think the pressure may be to much ?

You the man Youthman, always well thought out explanations and comparisons with great pics, people respect you because of how you are, a good guy you can trust, it's obvious just by the way you deal with everything. You don't need to do anything it's just how you are and it shows even in just typed words, you are in the right profession, kids need more of this.

For a long time I have been wanting to say something to you just never did, and I really don't just pm people, I just say it where everyone can see it and they should and I am sure most know already.

I joke, tease and make fun anytime I can but don't think I don't notice how many really good people are here and appreciate all of them, probably why I feel comfortable to say some of the things I do. (and I do control myself)....(alot) :D

    +1

  5. I think I liked the first half of this thread better than the second half, I could clearly tell a difference.

Yeah, and your ears ain't so good.

I wish they would go back and replace the edits. I missed the good stuff.

Hey Dean.....I don't like Bob's cornscalas anymore. Can you fix them?

Hey Bob......Dean said you screwed up my speakers.

  6. And the guy who used to be PWK's minister at the Episcopal Church (I think he switched over to Eastern Orthodox)... I believe he knew both Paul and Paul's first wife Belle.

That gentleman told some great stories. Hope he is well.

  7. Pride, ego. I'm guilty of it too. No one likes having their opinions contradicted or put under the microscope. There is also the problem of lack of body language and many times things just don't translate well with the keyboard - and so it leads to misunderstandings.

Something else I've noticed is how many simply can't deal with being challenged. IOWs, as they say, they like to dish it out but they can't take it. When they find out they can't get away with personal attacks and/or derogatory statements, they leave. This forum used to be inhabited by older adults, most who were fairly technical and level headed, though admittedly not always. There isn't near the participation there used to be - sometimes I notice there's only three people browsing a section of the forum.

I looked up your Jubilee buying threads awhile back. Good stuff, of course I wasn't the one being chewed on. Most of those guys are no longer here or don't post. Wonder where parrot is?
