  1. You're spot on, most of the time I am...but at 280 pounds I don't get to many takers to try my temper.
  2. Yeah, you're right. I don't like people hiding behind the viel of anonymity...gett'n all brave. If people are gonna get in my face I'd like them to try it in person.
  3. I want a neon sign, some beer glasses and some shirts in the 2x to 3x sizes.
  4. Hey my login and password still works. Yes I am very sorry too that this table turned out to need some work. I bought it used from a dealer in 1982 so it was a few years old at the time, but I was unaware it had been gone into until I had the interconnects upgraded in the mid 1990's. I would never have sold it if I had known it had issues. Like I said before it had almost no use from about 1996 when I moved until I sold it. I had been used a few times to record some of my favorite songs which I can't get on CD but had been played only at low levels for recording. It really seemed ok to me. Michael I am sending out a little something in today's mail to help out with the troubles you have had. I really hope it works well for you now. I guess the reason I got so angry was that I honestly believed I sold you somehting that worked fine...it was quite embarassing for me. I would never risk my reputation or my word over a relatively small amount of money for people on this forum I have come to like and respect...and I hope you believe that. Anyways, I hope you are in love with the Thorens now! Eric
  5. http://orlando.craigslist.org/msg/193368828.html No connection with seller. It's in central Florida, don't know if the seller would transact with non-local buyers.
  6. Mike, Please give me a call today some time. If you don't recall my number email me at eric.hummel@wyndhamvo.com.
  7. Coyotee, Jeanie Almond in the Logistics Department at Klipsch was the consumate professional. She had taken care of getting mine trucked right to my front door. They even took them downstairs for me. I tipped the Fed Ex guy for his extra help. Once the delivery time was established it was no big deal and everything went very smoothly. Good luck with yours I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine!
  8. Hey Paul...yepp'r Chuck Mulhearn told me the same thing and it is mucho' better. The sound went from a flat 2D to more of 3D experience. I was amazed. The acoustical treatments also were more dramatic than I had expected. I thought it was just my ears having some sensitivity to the 1.6-3.5kHz region but everyone else has noticed a much more open and natural sound as well. I would have thought that with all of that increased absorption the spl would have dropped and my power requirements would have gone up to compensate...just the opposite is the result. I guess my room acoustics were much worse than I originally thought. Live and learn I guess.
  9. Okey dokey, I'll wait for Mike to let me know when he wants to swing by.
  10. Sounds good Mike. I'll be in South Carolina this weekend but have no other travel plans at this time. Let me know what works.
  11. Mike, When I dropped off the Thorens for Michael we talked about the acoustical treatments I was experimenting with. I am almost done and that combined with the speakers on the long wall has made an improvement that I did not think was possible. I mean I thought they sounded real good as it was but the improvements have been so dramatic I would never have thought it possible. I mentioned Auralex to you at the time but I decided to take a different route. I went with 1.5" convoluted foam with an NRC rating of 0.85 at frequencies between 250Hz and roughly 4kHz mounted to 1/2 inch think fiber board backed with 1/16 inch cork. I placed the panels behind the speakers, along the side walls and some up high on the wall opposite the listening position. I am probably at about 12-15% coverage which is probably close to where I need to be considering the high level of reflectivity in that room with the hard floors and wood paneling on two of the walls. I went this route not only for the cost but because this is the first time I have really tried any treatments to this extent. If you are thinking of experimenting with this come on by and check it out and give me your impressions of the changes. Michael please tell me you are satisfied with the Thorens...I don't want you to feel obligated to keep it if you don't like it. By the way since both of you guys have been very generous and helpful I would like to give you two free dibs on my records. You would have to reimburse me for actual shipping only if you wanted them but I thought I would see if you two wanted any of them. I have some Jazz, mostly 70-80's rock and pop and some classical...probably 200 LPs in all. Most of these records are in very good to excellent condition. If Mike wanted to swing by and check them out that would be great. Let me know.
  12. Christina, I have owned a pair of 3-way Jubilees for almost a year now and love them. They are sitting in a room about the same size as yours and are driven with 3 studio series BGW SS power amps. I have owned every other Klipsch Heritage speaker except the cornwall over the years and these Jubilees are without a doubt the most dynamic and realistic set up I have ever owned. The 3-way set up eclipsed the $7k mark but they "are all that." Now you're going to hear alot of gum flapping about tubes vs SS, digital vs analog and alot of other BS around here. Thing to do is take your time and decide for yourself what combinations sound best to you. Truth is by the time you arrive at this point you are so far along the point of diminishing returns that huge amounts of money are required to make appreciable improvements with many types of upgrades (this tone arm vs that tone arm, this amp or that one..blah blah blah). Those arguments have become repetitive and of little value. That's why I suggest doing some independent research and listening for yourself. With my set up after a year with these I have just now started adding acoustical treatments and making very small adjustments to equalization, time delay and cross over settings. It took me some time to make sure that what I was doing would improve the sound rather than just change it. Good luck either way you make a great choice.
  13. Michael, The Thorens manual is attached for you to my previous post regarding the tone arm model.
  14. Scott, The other stuff is still for sale.
  15. Mike...no apologies necessary please. I'm glad the discussion came up so I remembered to get the manual to him.
  16. Hello there fellers, That sure is a TP-16 arm on that table I sold Michael. I don't have the original maual for it but attached is an electronic copy I have. That tone arm and B&O cartridge should be a nice sounding and very acceptable match...at least until Michael gets bitten with the upgrade bug. Even in stock trim she is a very nice sounding table. Thanks again Michael and Mike! Eric Thorens 125 MkII.pdf
  17. Well thank you Larry...hey if I can't trust Michael Colter then who can I trust.
  18. eric hummel 1733 sunset drive clermont, fl 34711 I am calling Mike now and will get it to him this morning. Our offices are with a few minutes from one another. He should have it by lunch. Thanks and sorry about the paypal thing.
  19. Michael, The Paypal account has been closed. Please let me know if you still want the Thorens. If you do I will deliver it to Mike this morning and you can just mail me the check.
  20. Michael, For some reason our account is hosed up. Even though pattie_hummel@rcid.dst.fl.us is a valid address and she can get emails there, the phummel@rcid.dst.fl.us is the only address she can use to logon to her computer. These means that she can't confirm the new address and we can't retrieve the payment either. Both of us are way to stressed out now to do anything further with Paypal. So please cancel all payments and just mail me a check. 1733 sunset drive, clermont fl 34711 thanks

  22. I don't know why either. Apperantly both email addresses are on the account. She is talking with them now to see what the issue is. I'll let you know when they get it fixed. Thanks again.
  23. Below is the correct email address. Thanks Michael. pattie_hummel@rcid.dst.fl.us
