  1. I've always been a fan of this movie. I don't think it was ever a real popular movie and I haven't talked to many people who have watched it. I thought it was well-written and loved the ending. Charlie Sheen really stepped it up for his role in this one.

The Blu-Ray transfer has amazing audio. There's several parts that feature dynamic explosions and music that are crystal clear. Picture quality is excellent too, although some of the special effects show their age.

    4/5 stars.

  2. That really stinks. I recently watched a Blu-Ray concert of Chicago with E W & F and it was fantastic! Maybe you can pick up a copy and watch it in the comfort of your own home.

I saw the Eagles recently and I felt they were playing way too quiet! A couple of the faster, livelier songs had adequate volume but for the most part I was diasppointed, I usually listen at louder volumes at home than they were playing!

  3. Congrats on the weight loss! It was not easy I am sure but you had an unfair start, middle and finish on the woman at work. It is much harder for a woman to loose weight when compaired to a man as a man has more mussle mass thus he burns more calories, just breathing or sleeping let alone working out!

Yeah, I know I had the upper hand. But, I had her look back at her first 3 months of dieting and I still had her beat. We also went by total percentage of weight lost during those first 3 months and her next 3 months and any way you calculated it I still won. It was good motivation for the both of us. Last year she said she was going to lose weight as well and I think she ended up losing maybe 10. It definitely helps to have someone else to partner up with when it comes to things like this.

  4. Thanks again for the kind words. This diet and exercise stuff is addicting. When I made my first goal of 178 pounds I then made a new goal of 170 and hope to be there by the end of July. I'm not sure what I'm going to do once I hit that point. I guess I'd be comfortable staying within the 170-175 range. I know winter's going to be hard not being able to run outside as much.

  5. Great Job Wuzzer! You probably feel better and have more energy already. Especially if you are exercising.

Yes, I've been running three days a week and doing weights/cardio 3 days a week in between running. Getting some very nice muscle definition in my arms and legs. Now I just need to work on my midsection!

  6. great news Wuzzer...you driving that 'stang???...

Unfortunately it isn't my tires being melted into submission but I do own a yellow GT convertible with a black top. I found the pic online and thought it would work well as an avatar. [:)]

Today was the final day of the weight loss contest between a co-worker and me. We started the contest April 1st of this year. My beginning weight was 208.5 pounds. I lost about 20 more pounds than she did in that time. In her defense, she started dieting January 1st and I didn't start until our contest started in April 1st. She had already lost about 20 pounds prior to our contest so I had an easier time losing weight right away. She's lost 43 pounds since January 1st.

I was a little worried because last week at the cabin I ate Twinkies, hamburgers, brats, fried fish, macaroni and cheese, potato chips, beer, etc. I was on vacation and needed to not have to care about what I ate. I still lost a half pound over the past two weeks.

She now owes me an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet at Pizza Ranch, a local pizza chain. I haven't eaten there since the week before I started my diet when I had around 12 pieces of pizza. I don't think I'll be able to pack that many in now and frankly I don't want to.

My wife got me a gift certificate for a new suit at a local men's store and if I can keep the weight off through Christmas I'm going to treat myself to a couple more. I wear a suit every day to work so it'll be nice to have clothes that aren't falling off of me.

I wish success to everyone out there who is trying to lose weight. Its not easy but it can be done and the results are well worth it!

  8. I'd love to hear the Icon series some day.

Have you thought about placing your center speaker on top your stand and then the TV on top of the center speaker? The speaker could definitely handle the weight and it would sound much better getting it farther from the floor.

  9. There are a lot of walleyes on the lake but I prefer fishing for smaller, easier to catch fish. Funny thing, I've fished for walleyes several times and the only time I've caught one was in the Mississippi River when I was going for smallmouth bass. One walleye in my entire life!

Here's a picture of the northern I caught:

  10. I agree with a statement that a forum member once made (can't remember the name). He said that if you were to line up different sets of Klipsch speakers that are in their higher end of speakers (RF-7s, RF-63s, Forte IIs, KLF-30s) that they would sound a lot more alike than one might think. Thankfully Klipsch is one company that is always looking to improve their products. PWK left quite a legacy behind and if I worked for Klipsch I'd make darn sure that legacy was still alive and kicking.

  11. Since you're using Blu-Ray and HD-DVD the only way you're going to get the HD audio formats is by sending the audio through HDMI. So, options 1 and 3 are the only way you're going to get the best audio.

From my own experience I've found that Marantz receivers do a great job with 2 channel music and also with home theater. I know a lot of people on here use Yamaha and have heard very few complaints about them.

I'd be inclined to hook up the bare necessities to the Marantz first (only enough to test the sound) and then switch to the Yamaha and see what you like best.

  12. I enjoyed the past week at a cabin in northwest Wisconsin with my wife, mom and dad, grandma and brother. When we got home today and unpacked everything my wife wanted to watch TV. I hopped online to check emails and of course the Klipsch forums.

My wife is watching the movie Outbreak that is on TV and I have to say that I really missed the Klipsch sound while I was gone! Its funny how you get used to something when you're able to listen to it every day. Having a dinky little TV at the cabin and stuck with factory car speakers there and back makes me appreciate what I have at home! Its really amazing how awesome that Klipsch speakers are.
