  1. A wall plaque like the one you used to sell would be great! N
  2. I helped my friend swap the horns and they are identical. The horns have stickers with the part numbers on them and the part numbers for the RF-7 and RC-7 horns are the same. N
  3. A friend of mine has an RF-7 with a defective tweeter and found a damaged RC-7 with intact tweeter. He'd like to swap the tweeters, are there any internal adjustments needed to be made to the RC-7 horn to work in an RF-7? Thanks, N

I've seen three of these from my last five customers. Someone from Klipsch needs to go over and put a foot on someone's neck. ---------------- Dean, How can I check if my RF-7's have the correct value on the board? Same question for the RC-7 resistor. Thanks, N

Horrible quality control. N
  8. Does anyone know where the RF-7's are made? I've heard China, even Mexico, but nobody seems to know for sure. N

Setting them to "small," in this configuration wouldn't tax the system as much. FWIW: I run my speakers "large". On music I prefer crossing at 60 Hz and for movies I like to raise it to 80 Hz. ---------------- How can you run your speakers "large" and have the crossing at 60 Hz??? "Large" means "full range", you can only do crossing if the speakers are set to small. N
  10. I have the Integra Research RDC-7.1 processor which is the Onkyo TX-NR1000 minus the amps and it sounds awesome with my RF-7's and RC-7. Highly recommended. N
  11. Does anyone know if the RF-7 and RC-7 are going out of production this fall? Thanks, N
  12. My RF-7's were brand new and yet they sounded different, I'm 100% sure about that. I calibrated them with a SPL meter, moved them around, nothing helped, the soundstage was a disaster. In spite of the excellent deal I got them for - $1180 for the pair from Good Guys - I had to return them. N
  13. I really got them for that price, Good Guys family and friends exclusive. N
  14. I just returned my RF-7's and RC-7 to the Good Guys store in Anaheim. I paid $1180 for the RF-7 pair and $429 for the RC-7, brand new. The speakers are mint, in my room one RF-7 sounded different from the other, that's why I returned them. Considering how much I paid for them new you might get a great deal on the open boxes with full manufacturers' warranty. N
  15. I have a similar problem with my brand new RF-7's: the left and right speakers sound different and I can't get the sound to balance correctly either. One speaker has more highs than the other and the bass is tighter too. I calibrated the speakers with a SPL meter and moved them all around the room - didn't help. I'll take them back to the store and get another pair. N

My B&K Ref30 runs hotter than the Parasound. I believe it also has a 10 year transferrable warranty to boot. You should be able to get one for under a grand during the summer months on e-bay. Prices will climb comes fall. ---------------- The Parasound warranty is not transferrable. N
  17. Is stereo is important to you then don't get the Lexicon MC-1. N
  18. Steve, Thank you for the clarification. It does sound great at 14 feet away. N
  19. I just got my RC-7 and when listening with my ear close to the woofers I noticed that the woofer on the right sounds different from the woofer on the left, the one on the right has more high frequencies. Is this normal? According to the RC-7 info on the Klipsch site "Klipsch Tapered Array Technology operates both woofers at the lowest frequencies but only one all the way up to the point where the tweeter takes over". N
  20. Well, I said many RF-7 owners, not most. Several have the Pioneer 1014 receiver run their RF-7's and they are happy with the sound. The main reason I got the RDC-7.1 was its great sound, features came second. Sound wise I also like Arcam stuff, very warm, Arcam would probably mate very well with Klipsch. I didn't know about the 1v rms output, thanks for the info. N
  21. I plan on keeping the RDC-7.1 for a very long time, I've tried a lot of preamps and I like this one the most, it's an outstanding unit. I'll see how it works with the RF-7's. If I don't like the sound I'll return the RF-7's and keep on using my B&W's or try other brand of speakers. I agree that the Sony amps are not the best and one day I'll replace them. At the same time I've noticed that many Klipsch owners are using lower end Yamaha, Denon, Pioneer etc, receivers whose amps are not as good as the Sony amps and yet they are very happy with the sound. If the RF-7's sound good in their systems then they should sound at least as good in mine. N
  22. You are quoting the Audioholics review. They reviewed the 1.03 version of the Integra Research. The software version is now 1.08 and all of the problems have been solved. Not to mention that no other processor on the market has the features the RDC-7.1 has. Sound wise, the unit is great. Krell or Anthem processors wouldn't match well with a forward speaker like Klipsch. N
  23. You must be joking about the Integra Research RDC-7.1 preamp. Or maybe you're confusing Integra Research with Integra, they are not the same thing. Over the years I've owned the Sony TA-E9000ES, the B&K Ref30, the Krell Showcase 7.1, and the Anthem Statement D1 processors. The Integra Research is the best preamp I've had so far. Speaking of reviews, there haven't been many RDC-7.1 reviews, if any - the unit was released only 6 months ago. N
  24. You may be right about the Sony amps but the Integra Research RDC-7.1 is one of the best processors on the market. N
