  1. OK, I have the opportunity to score some older klipschorns for cheap. model KD, so I think they are from the sixties. Are these desirable? Are they on the same level of performance as newer ones? I sure don't need them, as I have too many speakers now, the only corners I have are in my shop, so that's where they will be, and I already have klf10s, epic CF-4, and a few other speakers out there, but I'm so curious about the klipschorns.
  2. Hi, I,ve got heresy2s and they rock with the tilted back risers they came with. Bass is adequit and tight. But I'm a bass *****, so I tried hooking up my velodyne HGs15bg2 with them. Absolutly awsome! As far as extra stuff in the delivery chain, do you want your system to sound better, or what you consider bass shy?
  3. I hanen''t really heard fortes that much, but I love my Heresys. Even more so with my velodyne sub. Heresys do not get the respect they deserve.
  4. Stevie Ray Vaughan, in a class all by himself then Rory Gallagher Jimi Hendrix, incredable Clapton, in his cream and Derek years, Paige, sounded great on studio albums, not so great live, He'd be kind of suckin, then would do something real sweet and make it work. Quirky, but I like that. Jerry Garcia, don't make me laugh! Just kidding, but not one of my favorites
  5. Hi, I have RF3 2s and heresie 2s, there very different speakers. the 3s have that awsome bottom end and alltogether a great sound, more refined or subdude than the heresies. the heresies on the other hand have more midrange being a 3way speaker. If you like that more pronounced midrange the heresies you will love. Really awsome with a good sub, I had them hooked up to my velodine HGS15BG2 and they were the whole package.
  6. I have a bunch of klipsh speakers, and I recently took 2 of my RF5s out of home theater duty to listen to in a house that I use when I work down south. Man these speakers rock! I guess I never knew how nice they sounded , had them in the H.T. setup powered by a\ 100 watt yam. H.T. receiver. now hooked up to 200 watt adcom amp and preamp and nad CD all from early or mid 80s. anyways, I allways here you guys saying how great your RF7s and horns sound ,but I had to brag a little about thr 5s.I have a 2500 dollar velodyne sub sitting right there and tried it with them but disconnected it ,mabeyh didn't have things adjusted right. how big a difference in sound and volume between 5s and 7s. because I just bought a house with a huge family room, mabey would by 7s or lascalas, gotta love those klipsch speakers.
  7. nice looking speakers. you should be able to pull out the dents in the dust covers with a vacuum, but you'll need to decrease the hose size with a peace of small plastic hose otherwise your just pulling the entire tweeter out, hose must be smaller then the dent, good luck, Joe
