Here's the crossover Bob made for me.

I just found this thread. The 828 low mids are in parallel. T1 is +. According to the building plans I have but cannot find now, they say to connect the first 828, then connect it, to the second 828, + to +, - to -. Bob made a set of X2635 crossovers for me a few years ago based on the schematics from EV and they really made a huge differance. Limono - I bought my 18WK from you several years ago up in Mich. Don't know if you remember or not. We met up at the McDonalds. Here's where it sits now.

What's the proper method to hook a stereo cdp to the single input on a mono tube pre-amp? Will a simple "Y" adaptor work?

There's only one unfortunately but it sounds great. Until I asked Bob to build the crossovers, I never appreciated the excellent sound the Patrician can reproduce. The old X2635 crossover worked but not well at all because of age. The difference was night and day once Bob's were installed. Those old crossovers are nice to collect, but certainly not to use.

After several years of procrastinating, I finally started working on turning the bass horn section of my Electro Voice Patrician IV, into a more modern looking and fully functional Klipschorn looking cabinet. I call it a Patrichorn. It contains all the original drivers found in the Patrician except for Bob's tweeter, and right now I'm using a University SAHF mid range driver to see if I like it better. The crossover was built a few years ago by Bob, according to EV specs. I built the 200hz wooden horn that all the drivers are mounted in, and the entire top section housing everything. I modeled after my Khorns. I still have to build the side panels but right now I'm going to relax a little and enjoy the wonderful sound it makes. I think I'm going to end up painting the top section black like the 60th anniversary Khorns but I'm still undecided. Here's a slide show I put together. I hope it works. Bernie

Come on, ob, lighten up! What's the difference between putting in a snipe bid with 5 seconds left, and sitting by your computer doing the same thing? I've done it both ways, and prefer the snipe bid. Especially when the auction is ending at 2 AM and I don't want to be sitting at my computer at that hour. Mike That is why you can't say it's an auction, I don't get a chance to bid again............it is about the highest bid right? NO the clock ran out no more bids..............that is my complaint..........I hope I worded that right............You don't get a chance to out bid the last bid.....................Hey, E-bay works for some, for some it does not, that's never going to change, if you like E-bay please use it , most people like buying and selling on E-bay, I just don't enjoy it.................... In a traditional auction at an auction house, the bidders are all present or on a phone live, right there where they can be seen by the auctioneer so the auctioneer knows if the bidding has reached the max. On eBay, it's obviousely not the same situation so it's not the same as a traditional auction, but how else can you end an auction where the bidders are not physically in front of the auctioneer, unless you have an expiration time? Should it go on and on and on assuming there might be a bidder somewhere in the world who would like to place a bid at some time or another to beat the last bid placed, or should there be a time limit? Ebay is a new type of auction, designed to be played with different rules than traditional auctions. It works well for the majority of the players, the majority of the time.

There are scammers involved with every method of selling any item anywhere in the world. You have to take the time to check out the person you are wanting to send money to in hopes that he will send you the item you will be paying him for. Read the feedback and see what people have said about the seller BEFORE you place your bid. If he has questionable feedback, or no track record yet, stay away or possibly suffer the consequences, but don't be surprised if the guy rips you off. Ebay has gotten a bad reputation from people bad mouthing them because of a bad transaction they were involved in, or just by people talking about horror stories they heard about but which did not involve them. I don't believe the items bought and sold on ebay are being sold by eBay themselves so why bad mouth eBay. Bad mouth the seller, or the buyer but not eBay. I sell and buy on eBay and I'm an honest seller, a good seller and my 500+ 100% positive feedback speaks for itself, and I'm small time compared to most other sellers with great feedback. Without eBay, I wouldn't have been able to find the items I have bought, nor would I have been able to find a buyer half way across the world for an item I have for sale. For the fees they charge, it's worth it to me or I couldn't make the sale. People don't talk about the great transactions they've had on eBay, but they sure do about the bad ones, and I'll bet that one bad one could have been avoided if the buyer checked out the seller first and stayed away if his feedback was questionable. Too often we just have to get that item no matter what the guys feedback says, instead of taking the time to make a sound decision of whether this one is worth it or not, or should I just let it go and wait for another to come along, because one will eventually. Just my .02 worth. []

High ..??? Yowser...!! Probably was a good price but not being sure what they normally are worth, I was afraid to bid too high. Since I just started looking for horns like this, pricing was all new to me. Now I know for next time. Those were nice looking horns though.

You guys have convinced me to find the proper horns with a 2" opening. I'll just have to be patient and hope some will show up, or if I get impatient, maybe try and build them myself. I wanted to try for those that went off today on eBay but they went too high.

What is the JBL adapter model number? I looked on Partsexpress but didn't have much luck finding their adapter. Anybody know that part number or any advice on how to search for it on their website?

Bruce, Those are stunning for sure. Are the plans on a file or do they have to be mailed? I still don't know if I'm going to use these drivers so I may not build the horns but looking at those horns temps me. Bernie

I just acquired a pair of JBL 2450H mid drivers with no horns. Very large 10 lb drivers. I think they are the H, not the J but I have to check with my meter because they have no labels on them. Has anyone ever had any experience with them and would they be compatible in Khorns or are they just overkill? Also, what horn would you recommend to use with them if they could be used in Khorns? Yes, they are at Video Lab. I think Mark wasn't anxious to chit chat about them because he knew the guy who owns them was asking way too much. They've been there a while. He was originally asking $4500, but would let them go for $4000 which is still too much. Mark watches eBay and sells on ebay under the name mars19 so he's aware of what they've been selling for recently. The owner has agreed to sell them for $3500 but that's firm, supposedly. Bernie

Bruce, You saw that I didn't have the corners either for mine but when opportunity knocks.... My next house witll be bought with my Khorns in mind above all else! These have the brown grills too, not black. AK2 crossovers though. The speaker owner wanted way too much for them and I told Mark, the store owner that. Mark wants them out of his store because of the space they're taking up. I told him I'd pass the word around.
