  2. Hi Richard,

I was just looking for maybe a better sound or a better crossover.  I am still using EV DH1A drivers and with the cold weather coming looking for a project or two.

Chris, the analog crossover I meant to say a passive analog. With an external EQ

Pair of Klipsch KLF 20 3 way loudspeakers, each has 2 10” drivers, horn midrange and horn tweeter. I took these and completely restored them. The veneer was rough and bubbling so we sanded them down and ironed out the bubbles best we could and refinished in a walnut wood stain, there are still some spots that are not perfect but still look amazing. I took out the tweeter and crossovers and sent to Bob Crites which he rebuilt the crossovers using new sonic caps and upgraded the tweeter with titanium diaphragm. These speakers are LOUD, crisp, clean and bass is incredible. These are rare now and are in perfect condition and will last a lifetime. I will audition for only very serious buyers as these are special and do not come up for sale often. They need nothing but a good amp and your ears!  A pair on eBay is selling for $1500 now with no upgrades. Read Less

Yes that will work and I used my one very large tuba sub as a tv stand for a few year until I got this Yamaha speaker for a center speaker, first off make sure you have the driver that inside the box as close to the ground. I also placed a thin peace of rubber material under it and under the tv. Not that it needed it as the tuba when built the right way, will not vibrate or rattle any, the tube sub box I had , I built using 1” mdf and it was close to 110lbs with the Dayton Audio mkII 15” driver. So she was a heavy B!!!!!
What ever box you use and if possible, just make sure the driver is a fair away fro
The tv and that it does not vibrate
Good luck and post some pics
I’ll look and see if I can find some of my old tuba sub, but for now here’s a pic of the Yamaha center speaker I use as a tv stand

    This is a old pic

Dollar for dollar Klipsch has no equals
Name one other speaker company that can build a speaker and keep working like new after 45 plus years of service. Answer NO ONE !!!!!!

did you have the mouth of the sub facing you or the wall ?

You might want to read the first page of this thread.

This is the statement that had me ask the question......   What was the rehab ?

" Although they are in very nice condition, I have no use for them.  I simply want to make them available to my forum friends after I do some rehab on them to keep me busy for a week or so.  (My labor is the fun part.....)  These will be plug and play when complete.

Most of you are familiar with this amp, 60 w per channel. Uses 6550 or KT88 . I had this one built 10 months ago  with all the upgrades - Best Capacitors - Attenuation pot  (so you dont necessarily need a pre amp sounds great straight from the source )   -    Auto Bias board ( Greatest thing since sliced bread ) - digital bias voltage Meters installed ( cool bling ) . Basically like new, I spent over $2,100.00 with all the upgrades -- yours for $1,500.00 . I have gone thru several other amps over the past year and had to spend almost twice as much to find something I liked better & it is better only by a small margin . If I had it all to do over again I would have stopped with this amp & call it good enough , because it does perform way above it price range .

Who built the amp ?  Any pictures of the underside ?
