  1. First I just gotta ask, I'm starting to notice the larger Synergy speakers like the C-3 and S-3 are no longer in production, so I'm first asking are the Quintet III's still a current Klipsch product?

    And for my main question, A lot of people recommend the Sub-10 to compliment the Q3's, it seems like a good choice but what about the SVS PB-10, is it too much sub for the Quintets? How does it compare to the Sub-10?

  2. Dave may have come across quite an idea. How about using a local Klipsch fan / Forum member in each major metro area with BB stores as a 'shopper' to check the condition of displays and salesman knowledge from time to time.

    I'm sure that Klipsch representatives in the field don't have the time to check in as often as seems necessary. They might appreciate the feedback and then could give kudos to store managers or correct deficiencies.

    Michael

    Sounds like a good idea, but I can't be that person in my area, I don't have a BB. Moved to the sticks.

  3. my NAD dealer

    never had an issue, super fast shipper

    http://www.amsound2.com/

    congrats its a nice cd player

    Ouch, that link you gave is an unauthorized NAD dealer, with a 1.8 out of 10 store rating, I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole, I paid the extra to have a warranty.

    Their NAD stuff is most likely B-Stock / Refurbished

    The reason I know they are unauthorized is I asked NAD Customer Support.

  4. How about this...

    How many times can we really listen to DSOTM, I mean it's a great Album, but are 20 different formats really going to make a difference, music is music, enjoy it for what it is.

    Personally I've listened to DSOTM too many times as to where the only time it's being played is to demo my system to people. And actaully I've lately stopped using it as demo material.

  5. Without a doubt I can tell a huge difference over my previous source which was my PC with an Audigy 2 sound card.

    Espesually with HDCD's, but it could be just every other CD player I've heard my HDCD's in sucks compared to this NAD.

    It's also WAY louder then I'm used to, before it was loud but now it's LOUD, I can't even bare to turn it past 1/4. I have no need to play with the tone controls as well, they will stay flat.

    I'm listening to some Duran Duran right now, sounds beautiful

  6. I had bend over backwards to get some answers out of the place I ordered my NAD C542 CD player from but it finally came today.

    I'm never again ordering from Harvey Electronics in NY, they may be NAD Authorized but I guess that means nothing in terms of customer service. Now just to wait for my line conditioner to come (from another place)

  7. By the way Mike, if you are wondering why I haven't called. I haven't really even had time to use my new camera yet, other then a few quick shots when I went to St. Louis.

    It's kind of a shame right now to have spent so much money on a camera and not even beable to use it, but I gotta work to make the moonies.

  8. Well I guess I've held it off long enough. I want to get into the fun world of turntables, I really have no clue where to start. I know a few brands like Rega and Pro-Ject but that's about it.

    I actaully have a budget on this cause I don't wanna go crazy overboard if I end up not liking it, I've been actaully look at maybe buying a higher end gently used TT for maybe $300-400, but also if I end up liking it I don't wanna be stuck with something I'll want to upgrade immediately.

    How good are lower end tables like the Rega Planar 2 or Pro-Ject Debut III? Are they enough for someone with quality in mind to be satisfied with? Both those I wouldn't mind buying new because the price seems decent.

  9. 102db = 1w

    111db = 8w

    120db = 64w

    126db = 256w

    Trust me, you have nothing to worry about with your 600 watts driving the RF-7's you will greatly pass the comfort limit before you have to worry about doing that, unless you are sitting there with hearing protection on listening to your music.... Now stop worrying about it and go enjoy those RF-7's, Unless you want to give them to me. I'll be glad to take them off your hands.

  10. I'm not sure on the 7100 but I had a 7125 and it was a kick'n amp,it sounded as good or better than my adcom 5500(200 watts per) and a slew of other amps I've owned.It was no "commercial"amp,if I recall it's an ATI amp rebadged.Great with music and miles above any avr amp I've ever heard.Price is the thing.

    Seems I was misinformed about Outlaw, I was pretty sure DrWho said they were pro amps in nice looking cases though.

  11. I've run across an Outlaw 7100 amp for sale near where I work. It's a 100 watts x 7 channels at 8 ohms. I am currently using a Yamaha RXV-3000 receiver with no separate amp. I've seen the conversations here about receiver vs separates and I've wondered from time to time what I'm missing...so curiousity is rearing it's ugly (and expensive) head...[:D]

    I would use it in the theater setup listed in my sig. Legends all around. I NEVER listen at high volumes (60-70 db is common).

    Sooo a couple of questions o' wise ones...

    What improvements to sound quality should I expect to hear if I still use the Yammie as a pre/pro? Greater detail? More punch?

    Many here have recommended 200 watts per channel for the KLF-30's. I'm not in any hurry to "amp" my system. Would you pass on the 7100 and watch for a 200 watt per channel unit? Is there a difference (between 100w and 200w) I will hear or "feel" at my listening levels?

    Any guidance appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Brad

    Recommended 400w for KLF30's??? WHO SAID THAT?

    They are 102dB sensitivity are you INSANE? I have 150x2 seperate amp pushing my F-3's and part of me wishes I saved money and bought the 50x2 amp instead, I have an overkill amount of power and mine are only 97dB

    Do the KLF30's have a big impedance dip like the RF-7s did? Maybe thats why they recommended 400w but still, geesh.

    But anyway how much are they asking for the Outlaw, DrWho told me before Outlaw amps are just commercial pro amps in home audio cases, and many have said their amps aren't as good in terms of sound quality then most home audio receivers/amps. Expesually for 2 channel. Outlaw makes one hell of an awesome pre/pro though.

  12. My NAD 2 channel preamp has 2 sets of preamp outputs which are variable too so you can adjust the output

    Model C162 it's $600

    But if you ask me I'm not a big believer in subs for a true 2 channel system, I'd run small bookshelfs without a sub, I'm that hardcore. hehe

    Espesually with modern tower speakers and old speakers like Heritage, I wouldn't even think about running a sub with them. Speaking of which you have KLF-30's why on earth do you want a sub? Or is that not the system you want the sub for.
