  1. These are $150 US each so I'm looking for cheaper ones to hold RSX-5's. Thanks. In case you are wondering why I want something like this it's so I can mount one on each end of my cornerdesk. Then I will be able to stretch the speakers out behind me when in use and retract them when not in use.
  2. I've got you all beat. We have been getting at least -30 C without the windchill and with the windchill, which are only light winds so far , it has gone down around -60 C. In another month or so it will be getting real cold.
  3. Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10x50mm Leupold Vari-X III 6.5-20x50mm Tasco Custom Shop CU 8-40x56mm I put the last one in to piss you off Ken. It's no Leupold but it's actually pretty good. One of the original ones before they changed factories, at which point the glass on the customs went to crap. Put it on a .300 win mag with a bipod and you can nock down any moose in sight but I rarely use it any more since getting the Vari-X III 6.5-20x50mm. I also bought a Canon 75-300mm but it's a f/4-5.6 IS USM. The built in image stabilizer really does away with a tripod.
  4. I like Pioneer Elite and Denon.
  5. Got the speakers the other day and I must say I'm impressed. These are some of the best sats I've ever heard as long as you back them up with a sub. Can't wait to get the RCX-4 because the RSX-4 looks like mini me next to the RSX-5's. Trying to figure out how to mount the two rears on my corner desk as the furthest position on each end of the desk is not quite far enough behind me but it's close. Can't mount on walls and have stands but can't use them due to the risk involved with owning an overly energetic 100lbs Chesapeake Bay Retriever. I have some ideas though.
  6. Bad news! They called me today and after shipping out the speakers yesterday they came to realize that it wasn't an RCX-4 but rather an RSX-4. When they do get the RCX-4 in they will ship it to me and I will send back the RSX-4 so at least I will be able to use the speakers until then. Too bad though but what can you do!
  7. I agree with you Ken. You would practically have to give away a plasma for me to bite when there is so much better for less or even better again for that price. At least it's WXGA but I would sooner go with a 70" Sony XBR Grand WEGA or a 61" Samsung HLM617W or both for that price and still have money left over. Ultimately a digital projector in that price range or even half or quarter that price would be my choice.
  8. Yeah they are sweet! I bought 2 pairs of SR60's after my disappointment with the Zalman 5.1 headphones which were good in theory but poor in frequency response(no bass). The biggest plus with most of the Grado line is that you don't need a headphone amp to power them unlike the Sennhiser HD-600's and the AKG K-501's that I was considering. I will probably move up the Grado line down the road but for right now I'm content with the 60's.
  9. Good news! My dealer just called and the RCX-4 just arrived so I should have them in a couple of days. They made some more calls for me yesterday and now Klipsch is saying there was a problem with the cabinet and grill fit and they had to go back and make some design changes or something to that effect. So I guess the production shortage due to the holidays and Canada being on the not so important consumer list was another load of bull. At this point I don't care, I just want my PC speakers. Hope yours comes soon.
  10. Good to hear. I hope that our wait comes to an end soon. Bubbles is a tard! Some people actually thought it was me but if I looked like that I'd have bigger problems than back ordered speakers.
  11. I'm in the same boat as you. I have been waiting 4 months for my RCX-4. The RSX-5's came in a couple of weeks ago at my dealer but I'm not having them shipped to me until the RCX-4 is in too. They told my dealer that the RCX-4 would be shipped in January but 4 months ago they told them that they were in stock and my dealer should get them in a couple of weeks. Klipsch A.K.A. Lying A holes! Any way I'm curious as to what you think of the RSX-5's as I have not had the chance to hear them yet. Thanks.

    Call Of Duty

Chillen, can't say I agree but perhaps if you gave me some examples I might see it your way. I only say this because I own pretty much every first person shooter that is worth buying and I don't recall being disappointed with COD's graphics. I was actually impressed with some if the effects. I run the game with every possible graphic setting on or turned up all the way at XGA resolution and it looks pretty good to me so maybe that is the difference. Still I would like to hear some examples because if they are any good I have them and would like to compare again as I dont view COD as a let down in this area.
  13. You proabbly can't tell but the rubber handle is propped up which angles the speaker right at my head. When I took the photo I was standing behind the main seating area so it gives the impression of being angled too low. I actually have more room to tilt it even higher but it is not required as I used a laser to position it to point right at my head when seated.
  14. I would suggest what some others have, a sport bike or dual purpose bike in the 600cc range. The handling and braking are so much better on the newer bikes especially the crotch rockets where as the dual purpose bikes are easy to throw around and offer a bit of off road fun. You really need this because as strange as it may seem a lot of drivers dont see motorcycles when they pull onto a street and or they are unable to judge the speed and distance of a bike which means they pull in front of you when you least expect it. You have to always be ready for this and consequently be ready to brake and or maneuver. You also have to take you time getting used to a bike and I dont mean just your first one but every one. A good example is back in 85 when the FZ 750s and GSX-R 750s first came out a lot of my friends had them and I was lucky enough to have both. Im one of these guys that likes to spend a lot on time on my back wheel or take turns without slowing down by power sliding around them. Very often I rode my friends bikes so they could try mine but even though I had the same bike in my garage theirs would sometimes do unexpected things due to different suspension setups, tires etc. Road and weather conditions can greatly alter what you expect a motorcycle to do. Even the temperature of the pavement can affect weather a bike wheelies or burns out and can get you in a lot of trouble if you are expecting it to do the opposite. Sand or gravel when turning at intersections can be very dangerous too. Ive seen a lot of guys who drove dirt bikes for years get a street bike and think they can drive flat out but instead they go down and sometimes take others with them because they never took the time to get used to the bike and over estimated their driving experience which was on a totally different machine. Someone mentioned shorts and sandals being stupid and they are right. I always wore fully leathers no matter how hot it was and at the very least a person should wear denim. FYI worn denim offers better protection than new denim. What Im trying to say is have fun but be careful. I have seen a lot of accidents, luckily never involving myself and no one was ever severely hurt as in killed but that was also a bit of luck too when you consider I have seen motorcycles spinning end over end at just under 100mph approx. 15ft off the ground or when drag racing one time the guy I was racing hit a moose at over 130mph. All lucky to be alive. Im not trying to scare you but you need to approach the sport with some maturity because you may not be so lucky. If you approach it which the right attitude you will have many years of enjoyment from the sport. 15. You could always use my patent pending Rubbermaid toolbox stand.
  16. For a sound card your two best choices are the M-Audio Revolution 7.1 or a Creative Audigy 2 ZS. The mini plug for the digital out on the Audigy is not an issues as Radio Shack sells an adapter to convert it to RCA. I own both of these cards and I would go with the M-Audio Revolution 7.1 for your setup. I run the Revo in my HTPC and the Audigy 2 ZS in my gaming rig. Personally I would not us an AIW Radeon as there are better video capture cards on the market from Flyvideo and other companies which will also allow you to upgrade in the future without having to upgrade your video card too. I would definitely use a Radeon card just not an AIW. Another nice card for a HTPC is a HOLO3DGRAPH or a HOLO3DGRAPH II which gives you component and SDI inputs with DCDi deinterlacing and a bunch of other nice features for HT. You may also want to consider a good software DVD player, the best of which is TheaterTek. I have TheaterTek but I use Zoom Player which is a shell that allows me to mix any audio or video codecs from any software player along with ffdshow aswell as the option to use VMR9 and a host of many other features that are too many to go into here. You definitely need to do a lot of research at avsforum.com as dougdrake suggested but in the end it will be worth it.

    Call Of Duty

Call Of Duty has a lot of new user created maps out now which are a lot of fun.
  20. Me! I often tell people that is what I do for a living because I get paid to do a lot of wrestling. I'm guessing you mean the televised stuff so I would have to say The Ultimate Warrior and Sailor White.
  21. I agree with mOOn. In the Canadian Military there are different standards for men and women but they should be the same for all and if this was the case I would have no problem with the issue. In the male institution I work at we have female officers and for the most part they suck, sometimes quite literally but that's another story. They are not able to handle the same duties as most male officers and usually are responsible for a lot of the diciplinary problems we face everyday. Don't get me wrong we do get a very small percentage that are as good or better than most male staff but they are few and far between. I'm sure some will think I am anti women but my only concern is my safety and the safety of my fellow officers. All too often staff have gotten hurt because of a high number of female staff working that day who could not handle the physical and emotional situations they were involved in. Regardless of how you feel I have first hand experience in a violent environment and they don't cut the mustard. If she can do the job I support them but it should be the same standards for all and if you don't meet these standards you should get the boot weather your male or female.
  22. Do a search on painting drive face plates and PC monitors and you will learn everything you need to know.
  23. I'm in Canada but it's not the store I'm dealing with that's the problem, it's the fact that Klipsch is not sending many Sats to Canada because there is a big demand for them in the US. In my mind once you pay it should be first come first serve but it appears the potential for a sale is more lucrative than one already made. Nice customer service.
  24. Thanks for the review because it's nice to hear that the satellites sound good because I've owned 4 RSX-5's and a RCX-4 since Sept. 10th but still to this day reading this review is as close as I have come to these speakers. Klipsch could careless once they have your money which is why I'm still waiting for my entire order to show up even though I paid for everything back in Sept. I'm hoping sometime in the 1st quarter of 2004 they will send me the rest of my order and I can finally hear them in person. I've got nothing against Klipsch speakers but the company is a different story.
  25. Dual boot is the way to go here. To solve the ram issue in 98 right click My Computer and go properties, performance tab, file system, and then under the hard disk tab change the typical role of this computer to network server.
