  1. if it was me, I'd make sure there was a wall that lends itself well to use with a projector, I'd also make sure there was a receptacle in the ceiling for the projector. I'd also figure out at what height the rear surrounds will be, and have them wired to the correct height. I know nothing about acoustics, so hopefully someone else can give you some insight on that. Oh, and for lighting, I highly reccomend lutron remote control dimmers. they work very well for a dedicated theater room.
  2. something I hadnt thought of, but a very very good point.
  3. i use the 510 as well, i dont know what i'd do with no side buttons. logitech has done me wrong by removing 1 of the side buttons on the new g7.
  4. I assume you're talking about the klipsch dd-5.1 or something similar to that when you say digital decoder. What you propose seems to me like it would work fine, but IMO, you should spend the money you were going to spend on the digital decoder on a better reciever with discreet preouts and more buttons, bells, whistles, and gadgets. That's just me, and I'm not sure what kind of a budget you're on. I'd like to hear what someone else thinks as well.
  5. you could do one of 2 things hook the sub out on your reciever to the sub, and wire the speakers directly to your reciever or (supposing your reciever has 5.1 ch pre-outs), you can use 3 1/8th stereo to 2 rca jack cables and plug the pre outs from your reciever into the sub of the promedia system as it would be connected from a computer.
  6. as of now the only components I have are the k77s. I'm looking to build 4 way speakers. Woofers will be peavey black widow 1502s, upper mid will be jbl 2105h, and tweets will be the k77. I'm looking for a low mid speaker, so if anyone has any suggestions, i'm open to them. I have no idea what I'll be doing with the box as of yet, I've ordered some books and I'm waiting for them to arrive. I've also got a set of jbl 2441h's that I'll be building a subwoofer or 2 with. I'm figuring on powering them with velodyne spl series amps that i've picked up on ebay. I had originally considered the idea of putting the amped 2241s in the speaker, but since they'll have to be in a portion of the box all to themselves, I think it will make the boxes inordinately big. I've really got no timeframe on this, I'm doing it more for a fun long term project and learning experience than anything, so I'm quite open to any suggestions or information. I'd like to put a website, but I'm sure it will be a few weeks till I get around to designing something.
  7. ok, that makes sense to me, so i guess the question I should have asked is this: As you may have guessed, I'm building a set of speakers with k77s in them. Since I know nothing about horns, what do I do with them? (I think I asked the t-s question so that I'd feel better about the fact that I have no idea what I'm doing.)
  8. Hi All, I'm new here, and as my topic suggests, I'm looking for the T-S numbers for the K77. I've done quite a bit of searching here and elsewhere, and cant seem to find them. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.
