  1. Yes scottie, you are correct higher voltage or something like that. I have some cheap EL84's in it now, Craig just finished it so now it's time to find some nicer tubes. Jay
  2. Did you ever find out anything about those xovers? Jay
  3. Does anyone have a matched quad of either of these tubes they might want to part with? The prices online are just way to much, and ebay you never know. Jay
  4. I know a guy that has a pair of Forte II's in the boxes and in mint condition, if you are interested in those let me know. Jay
  5. Thanks William, I wasn't sure and just wanted to know. Jay
  6. Is there any truth to the rumor that, a dvd player will play cd's better than a cd player and why? Also does anyone know of a dvd player recorder, that records in 5.1 surround sound? Jay
  7. Hey Larry, Whenever you get the chance I am ready for that list. Jay
  8. Can tell me the best way to dial in a sub? Jay
  9. Yes I know I looked as well. Thanks . Jay
  10. Can some one tell me what are the xover points for the Forte II ? Jay
  11. Ok Larry that will be great. Jay
  12. Larry classic rock and or jazz. As far as the sound goes, I was really not surprised. They have IMO that Klipsch sound to them, coupled with my Scott 299 I am more than satisfided with their performace and the cost. I am still moving them here and there, trying to find the right position for the best overall results. I will post my overall impressions after some more time listening to them. Jay
  13. Allan if I still lived in Long Beach that would have been great, so I guess I will just have to settle for New Orleans jazz and some of it's local clubs. Jay
  14. Yea, right on Bill. Some times you can't get enough, other times you get alot more than you wanted. jay
  15. Yea Jonathan, did you make the bases. I think I want something like that for my Forte II's. BTW Michael, did you ever get you TT problems resolved? Jay
  16. Ok I am using them as mains in my second system, with a Scott 299. I guess I just have to play with them for awhile to get placement right. Jay
  17. Larry, I don't have the original list to choose from. Do you still have one? Jay
  18. WPM, welcome to the forum and the world of Klipsch. You really won't be disappointed. Jay
  19. Weren't they made to be on or near the floor, 10 inches seems a little high. Wouldn't that hinder or detract some of the bass? Jay
  20. Made it back from Houston last night, really tired straight to sleep. Well I think that winning these speakers on ebay is the 2 nd. best $ 400.00 I have ever spent on audio. With the ALK's being the first, the Forte's were as described. Nearly perfect one owner. The couple I got these from are doctors, that should tell you something. He bought them new while in med. school, paid over $ 1200.00 for them all paper work and the boxes. All the drivers are perfect, they look brand new no kidding. The cabinets look new as well, I found 1 tiny blemish on the back of one. I am completely satisfied with the whole deal even the all day in the car thing. I will post pic's later, today it's all about enjoying them until the Yankee's game. Jay
  21. Ok guy's I'm back from Houston with the Forte II's, and I am looking for advice on the placement of these. Anyone with Forte's please chime in. Jay
  22. Jonathan, I spoke with my brother. He is really busy right now and does not have the time to refinish your speakers. If you like I will ask him to let me know when he can. Meanwhile why don't you think about a road trip to N.O. We can talk a little shop and you can listen to what I have. Jay
  23. Yes i have heard other heritage speakers, and i have had the Scott for awhile. I just got it back from Craig at NOS Valves. He went through it and made it like new. As far as the sound goes for the Fortes, i have read alot of good things about them. Jay
