  1. You totally sure about this? does your rear left work? Amps dont randomly send info to different chans, maybe it is just playing the right side. Or who knows, maybe you put the cable in the center plug, do u have a 5.1 sound card, thats the only thing I can think of, the right playing center info, and the left trying to play sub info, which it can't.
  2. OLT, imo they are very biased compared to most, but it is true that horn speakers seem to flaten the sound stage and imaging since they are compacting the sound. I like my promedias, but I will say the transparecy is not there, although they make it sound like the pros sound like ish because of that, when this is not the case. They play all the same sounds, just don't place them with any accuracy. This is not notciable till you hear a set without horns, but the difference is there. They just put a lot of importance on that difference. The Klipsch sound is in your face, which doesn't sound as good as more neutral speakers imo. This is for music only though, movies and games, the Klipsch rule.
  3. Yo, gluegun, I'm fine with what your sayin, but ba louder than logitech w/o distortion? I'm going to have to see a few websites say that before I believe that, where did you get that info? For the record, mark said the 4.1 sub was a bit tighter than the logitech at low to moderate volumes, I havent heard the logitech, so I dont know if it sounds better, as in more detail. Also, Justin, the logitech are NOT true rms, they are BSed just like Klipsch, just Klipsch admits it, and logitech probably BS's more.
  4. My response is z-560, I dont see any reason to get the promedias anymore. Except for that special few who enjoys the "promedia" sound (don't say Klipsch, that is a discrase to the reference series). They do exist though, Justin is one of them, some people enjoy the sound of the horns.
  5. Man Hofy you really are crazy, what is with the cue cat?
  6. Paragon, have you compared them to the hd-600s on a good amp. I've read conflicting reviews so I'd like your opinion if you have. The thing that amazes me is that you can buy a hd-600 cable upgrade that seems to help the overall sound a lot, but is like $170. The speakers run for like $240 on ebay.
  7. The xover is different from a highpass filter from what I understand, and the xover is at 120 for the sats and sub, but the sats play lower than that, and the sub plays higher. That is just the point where the sub becomes louder than the sats lower than that, and the sats become louder than the sub higher than that. Same with the xover at 5 khz for the tweeter. So the xover is 120 hz sub/sat, 5 khz for midrange/tweeter.
  8. Man, justin, the truth comes out. We all know why you like Klipsch so much. The sound resembles your instrument you are so good at. I have really begun to dislike the sound of the pros for non-mainstream music, their isnt enough detail, too harsh. btw, I play clarinet. Actually, did... not next year.
  9. I'd like to see hofy attempt the 5.1. Might be a little harder balencing the sub this time around. And the center speaker doesnt have feet to use your patented tape on. Time for velcro
  10. Get the logitech z-560s, basshead, sheesh, the pros aren't enough? Can be had for as low as $115
  11. Try reading them all, it's pretty random, going into an arguement between justin and dbvader, and talking about cat launching. Took me awhile.
  12. Yeah, thats a lot of info, just think of it as this. If it was a sealed box, it would have to play with more power because it is playing against a higher air pressure in the cabinet, since it can move wood (the back of the cabinet) like it can a passive radiator. The driver has an easier time pounding out the low notes (although from what I've read and heard the rsw doesnt go that low) The main reason there is a radiator is because it replaces a port, almost as efficient with no port noise.
  13. Use winamp with the mad plug in, it's the best pc audio you can get for mp3s. You won't get any super bass or surround mode gimicks, but they just degrade the sound quality anyway. I think the pc dsps are not very good, but the mad plugin probably won't make much of a difference from wmp, considering you have the 4.1s.
  14. You know about 3dss right? Maybe ears will drop by this forum and give you an answer.
  15. Dont for get the megaworks justin. And the m200s, and the mm500s (in sound quality).
  16. You want the sub as low as it can blend with your fronts, the lower the better, I'd stay 90 at the very highest. As far as I know that 10db is default right? Anyway, it will make it louder even if it is not.
  17. If you went to the site, the dts (the best 5.1 pc system you can buy) is being sold for $300 US. This is an insane value, I wish I had the money.
  18. Go to this site for the digitheatre dts: http://www.icuii.com/hardware/speakers.php And this one to see how good they are, and how much of a deal this is: http://3dsoundsurge.com/reviews/DigiTheatreDTS/DigiTheatreDTS.html Keep in mind, I have yet to call, and I'm posting this out of their hours, but some of you should check this out. 19. Cool, I got family there, maybe I can take a trip to see, them, heh. When is it, I'd be more than happy to get a pair of rf-7s for a giveaway.
  20. BurNin'hell, you don't need to stand up for the pros, they have been destroyed and stood up for many, many, many times in the past. As a word of advice, don't make that kind of post, it makes you look bad, not him. If you made some kind of valid comeback to his comments on the pros, that would be better, but then again, as I said, all pros and cons to the promedias have been said many times, so it is pointless to discuss about them anymore, unless you are new to pc audio. Bigbusa has fun with it though.
  21. Yes, I've lost almost all of the respect I had for creative as a company. And I have to control myself everytime someone says that their friends have the BEST speakers; I ask what kind, and they say "they are these small cubes, they are so small, and sound so good." I don't even get started because most of them have it set in their head what good audio sounds like. It is hard to change their opinion, we know this from the earlier years with the pros and 3dss forum. BTW, Kevsmusic, I was refering to main at 90, keep the response flat. I understand the blending between the sub and the sats, that is the biggest problem for the system, the sub can't be turned down enough to work more seemly with the system. The sub could be just too boomy to really blend anyway, or maybe logitech needs to rework the rolloff of the upper end of the sub. I don't think the 4.1s sound be considered better though.
  22. I agree, put the sub in an open area, along a wall. Change the angle until it sounds the best. But remember this is a pc system, go with convience over what will sound the very best. The sub won't sound too different regardless of where you put it, unless it is corner loaded.
  23. hmm, thats not what I've read. You have your audigy around 90% main or lower right? I haven't seen anyone see what you just wrote. Did you get a bad set? The sub should be cleaner at high volumes, about as boomy. The sats should sound better in midrange, dont let the tweeters on the pros fool you into thinking that they are more accurate. I haven't heard of the volume issues either. I really think you got a bad set if you had all those probs.
  24. Hehe, I thought I'd never hear someone say that the pros have less overpowering bass. Get the logitechs, sound better, play louder, better sub, less than half the price, end of story. I predict Klipsch will revamp the promedia line if needed, but people still buy them, so there is no need to do that from a business standpoint.
