  1. Mark, I'm not sure of the exact dimensions, but they are about this big:
  2. Hey Chuck! Definitely not a necessity but more of a curiosity. Better even, take off a week from Thursday or Friday and make a roadie with Don to watch some hoops and listen to some tunes. Sounding pretty sweet up here and I have gobs of new music.
  3. I have always heard great things about Magnepan speakers, so I decided to pull a deal on the cheap for a pair of SMGs. Fun to try out new toys. Since I have my attic, no bitching about more speakers, amps, projectors, etc. I am looking forward to trying something new although I always come back to tubes and horns.
  4. If you want a nice sounding radio, I agree that the Kloss/Tivoli is the way to go. And now I think I truly realize what Roberto Duran meant when he said 'No Mas.'
  5. That beast of a bass horn appears to be begging for a 402 horn. From what I understand the 402/K69 is a pretty special horn/driver combo. Do it.
  6. That is very cool to offer up an audition. It's one that I am going to take you up on. I'll try to schedule something around a near future business trip to Asheville if your schedule permits that, of course. I am also interested in the Jubilee and no other variation. And as far as the money goes, it's only going to cost me the cost of the speakers plus a screened-in porch and a set of french doors so no worries. Thanks for the offer and I can't wait to hear them.
  7. Any idea where the closest Jubs are to Raleigh, NC? I need to hear a pair before I go any further on this. If anyone close is willing to let me have a listen, I would be most grateful. I also need to see if I can fit the bass bins up to my attic but I'm pretty sure I can. I have my space in the attic in a 18' x 16' foot room with clipped walls. It's a surprisingly good sounding room but I'm running out of space.
  8. Wrinkles, I have the same setup as you with 511/902 and 2404s on closed-back K-korn bass bins and DeanGs Super AA. They sound fabulous but I really to hear some Jubs with all I have heard on the forum. Cosmetics aren't an issue and I have the attic to do as I wish. I want the best possible sound for my buck and thought that I was pretty close. A couple of questions for the active Jub guys. I am now driving my horns with Rogue 6550 amps. Is it a requirement to bi-amp using an active x-over? Right now I could not do a new set from Klipsch simply due to the $. I am considering building the bins and buying the horn and drivers from Klipsch. Has anyone done this and does Klipsch sell the drivers seperately? If so, what is the approximate cost for the drivers and xover? Thanks.
  9. What are the dimensions of those beasts? I'm having crazy thoughts.
  10. Very nice. I can't wait to hear a pair of these. Enjoy!!
  11. The tannoys are expensive but are awesome drivers. A pair of the reds could make for an awesome speaker in those cabs. I heard a couple pairs of their higher end speakers (Churchhills and Westminister) and they were nothing short of incredible.
  12. How about one of the Tannoy 15" dual concentric drivers? Seems like that could be a decent solution.
  13. Nice, I've got a little Elton John from 1974 going.
  14. No question about it, with all other things being equal, the KT88 will provide much more bass slam than EL34s. I have had both in a few different amps. A 6CA7 will be somewhere in the middle - still has nice bass and the sweet midrange that EL34s are known for.
  15. Sweet cabs, those will be nice when you are done. [] Can you provide the interior dimensions and height and width of the existing baffle?
  16. That statement on its own sold me. I also picked up Iron and Wine 'The Shepherd's Dog' upon Joe's recommendation and 'In The Aeroplane Over The Sea' by Neutral Milk Hotel from the esteemed synthfreek. I'll give my thoughts on all of the new stuff. Thanks for the ideas.
  17. Mike beat me to it. I've heard every possible variety of Heresy including the Hiii in Columbia, SC. It is a serious upgrade and I never thought I would say that due to my high regard for both H and Hii.
  18. I absolutely think that Forte is the best value in the Klipsch line.
  19. Nice call on Rodrigo y Gabriella. They are pretty sick. http://youtube.com/watch?v=mUoijlfDPhk
  20. I agree, thanks Amy! I'll throw out a couple other of my favorites over the past year: Spoon - possibly the most underrated rock band out there 'Ga Ga Ga Ga' and 'Girls Can Tell' Moe. - silly good guitar work, jam band without the 'noodling' that drives me nuts with others. tight live band. will be seeing them for a couple nights in Charlotte, NC in April and can't wait 'The Conch' More to come.
  21. I think Tony Reed was looking for one if I remember correctly. I'll shoot him a PM.
  22. Easy to sign up for and I've found some good stuff on here. http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/
  23. If you don't own Moe. 'The Conch', go buy it. It is a great album and awesome guitar work.
  24. Thanks for the recommendations Joe. I like Sufjan Stevens alot - especially the Illinois album. I'll definitely check out Iron and Wine.
