  1. Alright, I did some more testing. The RSW-10d is nothing to lift your nose at. I have some theater lighting above my theater system. Well, while listening to some music at a higher volume I noticed the elements in the light bulbs where vibrating to the bass. The lights weren't dimming, but they had a flicker to them. I've never seen anything like that before. Everything vibrates in my room/house, even the house across the street. WOW.
  2. Hey wuzzer, where you located? I'm in Ramsey now. Yeah, I bought the Center and surrounds at Ultimate In Maple Grove, the sub I bought on line and the Denon 3808 I bought at Best Buy Magnolia in Maple Grove, last one too. I would rather support Ultimate Electronics but they wouldn't get a 3808 till next month, and most of those are spoken for.
  3. Last week I purchased a RC-62, RS-52 and a RSW-10d to go with my main KG5.5's, this week I bought a Denon AVR-3808ci to complete my 5.1 setup. I still have a lot of setting up to do but all I can say is WOW, I've really been missing out. Last night I tried a movie for the first time with the setup and I ended up watching the whole thing (3:00am) I was so impressed with the sound, I got a lot of joy out of watching the movie because of the sound. The RSW-10d hit some low notes (foundation shaking) without loosing control or drawing attention to it's self, the bass was just there when it was suppose to be. While reading other audio forums, you discover that Klipsch subs are not the first choice with other people. there might be better subs out there, but knowing what I know with the sub that I have, I would not want to roll the dice with any other sub. I'm sure my system will sound better when I get it properly setup.
  4. Yeah, speaking of world problems. I glanced over my yahoo home page to see that there are a lot of world problems out there. Floods, crashes and fires, oh my.
  5. So, we're all cool now, right?
  6. So, how do unauthorized dealers get Klipsch products? Where do products come from? I have a Klipsch sub with the factory serial number on it. Can I call Klipsch to get the history info on this unit? Do I dare?
  7. No "Y" adapter needed. If your using a single line, it goes in the left input just like the manual states.
  8. Alright, now that this thread is back on track. Thanks Sivadselim! I was going to reply sooner, but felt like I'd be hi-jacking the thread. I've never experiance any more problems with the display. The sub is sitting on carpet and I was walking around right before I was adjusting the controls, so there might be some logic to the static charge thing. I called the place I bought it from, they will give me a two week return option. That gives me two weeks to decide what I'm going to do. It's an intermitant problem, so even if I don't have a problem with it, but don't feel comfortable with keeping it, I could just say it quit working and return it. We also went over some warrenty plans and I ended up buying a 4 year warrenty for $89. That doesn't solve everything, as I wonder how much of a hassle it would be to get any warrenty work done. I asked as many questions as I could think of, it covers parts, labor and shipping. We'll see. I think I might call Klipsch just to see if what I experianced could be caused by static electicity.
  9. I wonder if the display went through a initialization or something. Before it quit working, I didn't have as many settings as I do after is started working again. I know the "Phase" settings where not there before and maybe a some other settings. Does this sound right?
  10. Yeah, I know. My local dealer didn't have the one I wanted. That, and I wanted to save a buck, or 400. I called them back and told them it's working again. They said they would give me two weeks to try it.
  11. I just received my Klipsch RSW-10d sub that I ordered from a non-authorized on-line dealer. It's a digitally controlled sub and after about 10 minutes of use, the display screen showed unreadable numbers/letters and then went blank. It was still lite-up but didn't show your functions. I cycled power a few time with no help. I called the place I ordered it from. They said no problem, we'll send you another one. Well, after I got off the phone, it started working again. My question is should I still trade this one in for a different one, or just keep this one? It doesn't have a factory warranty.
  12. What was the brand of cable that took a poop???
  13. When I went through a divorce a few months ago, I had the choice on what receiver to take, between the 12 year old Pioneer Elite VSX-49 that was used to power the KG5.5's with decent power but only Dolby Pro Logic, but I took the less powerful Pioneer VSX-D412 that is newer with Dolby Digital. I have my on on the Denon AVR-3808ci. Waiting on this HDMI to settle down a bit. Update: I just ordered a RSW-10d. It was from a non-authorized on-line seller. I hope I don't have a bad experience with this. My local dealer didn't have this item.
  14. I just came from my local ultimal electronics store today and walked out with a set of RS-52's for the read and a RC-62 for the center to go with my KG5.5's. The RC-62 will replace the little KV2. I'm still up in the air on a sub. The dealer said the RW-12d they had would keep up with the 5.5's I have. They don't stock the RSW-10d, and that's the one I'm looking to get. Man, I just love the feeling I get when I take new speaker out of the box. The bad part, I had to leave for work right after I took them out. Didn't get to listen to them yet.
  15. Right now I have a set of KG5.5's for the mains. I'm looking for a sub to go with them. I'm thinking about the RW-12d, wondering if that will keep up? The only other speaker I have now is a KV2 that will get replaced by a RC-62. I'm kinda looking at building a speaker system that resembles the RF-82 set, except I'll use my KG5.5 in stead of the RF-82. I'm assuming the KG5.5's should be close in performance as the RF-82's. To sum it up, I'm looking at KG5.5 for mains, RC-62 for center, RS-52 for surround, and an RW-12d for sub, or would a RSW-10d be a better choice? I'm also looking a Denon AVR 3808CI. And if my KG5.5's don't fit in with this set-up, I might replace them with the RF-82.

  17. I agree with capo. You might get more sympathy if you posted you complain on a definitive technology forum. But I see they don't have one, looks like their service sucks.
  18. Oldbuckster, even though I don't have a lot of knowledge on this subject, I like to think I have a knowledgeable opinion. When comparing 200 watts vs. 400 watts of sunfire power, I don't think it's a matter of too little vs. too much, but more like much vs. too much. The 200 watt sunfire is nothing to lift your nose at. I'd wonder if he'd notice a difference if he did buy the 200 watt amp and you snuck in his house a month later to swapped it out with the 400 watt. Other wise to your question, IMO too much is better then too little. In the sunfire case, you don't have too little.
  19. Buy the smaller amp and plug into a 220v outlet. If it holds together, how much head room will that give ya? Just a twisted look at things.
  20. Will this still hold true if he uses the Denon as a pre-amp? Or does the aggression come from the Denon's internal amp, which would be by-passed if used as a pre? One of my questions was going be is how does the 3805 work out? For I have my eye on the 3806 which I believe is basically the same. But by the sounds of it, the Ear says Denon and Klipsch are not a good match???
  21. What is the price on those two amps???
  22. If the wires are connected at the source end for bi-wiring, then it shouldn't matter if they are connected at the speaker end, right? The only advantage I can see with bi-wiring is that it increases the gauge of wire. You could replace the bi-wire set-up with one bigger wire to have the same effect, right?
  23. So for bi-wiring it shouldn't make much difference, but it would be best to leave the straps in?!?
