  1. you can always upgrade the crossovers. i had my 7's bi-amped. there was a slight imporvement, but not enough for me to buy "better" speaker wire. bought the best bi-amping RCA's i could get my hands on, now they sit in a box.....lol. put you sub question the the Sub catagory. u will get more help there. i'll tell you this, i have 7's, and i live in an apt. it sucks. every so often, i don't care and watch a movie at "normal" volume. the last time i did that, i swore the cops were going to show up. not trying to be a jerk, my my upstairs neighbors are super loud, so i figure once in a while is ok for me! )
  2. it's on ebay.... here is the link..... LINK (normal disclaimer)
  3. anyone interested in a pair of RS-42's? i know, i know, pics....pics....and more pics.... i don't have access to them right this second. they have been boxed up to be kept safe. they are both in great shape. one is better than the other and has the box and all. the other has a small blemish on the grill (bottom point) but you can't see it unless you pick it up and look at that bottom. you can see some pics of the speakers in the links in my sig. if someone is actually interested i could have my buddy take a few pics. i have 2 pairs that i would like to sell. they both have matched crossover upgrades. i use Sonic Craft and mills (just like ALK). they also have Rhodium WTB binding posts. i'll set the price at.... of course i will make sure they ship perfectly. i currently live in OKC. may bad...i don't have a link to some of those pic....but i have a few in my gallery. oh, of course OBO accepted. i'm trying to find a good home where someone will use them. they are doing me no good sitting in a box. the amp that powers them is going as well (LPA-1), i just have no use for them anymore. i think the RC-7 will go away too. thats for another discussion.... EDIT: here is the original post...i'm about to re-post. today when i get home i'm going to take pics. my asking price is $400 for all 4 surround speakers. no i don't want to split them right now. click on the link in my sig for the upgrades to the surrounds. EDIT: sorry, i finally had time to take pics of 1 set of speakers and post them here.
  4. i have a question regarding the new ps4. does it do anything different (audio processing wise) than the ps3? i ask because way back when...lol....when the first ps3 came out (fat version) it played "all the codex's". then the newer slim version came out and it could now play the newer HD or Master codex's. so people like me, sold off the fat for the slim (like all shallow people do!....lol) i would like a new ps4 (for game reasons) but i can put that off until they come out with a newer version (like always).

    foam

    From the album: HT gear

the foam i used on the RF/RC-7's. took the stock foam in (mine had different amounts so i thought it would be better to make them both equal). this stuff is .5" and takes all vibrations out. it made my speakers act like they are 2" thick. same concept you want in subs.

  19. Lol. That's what I mainly need help with. I truly don't know the current value. The only item I know a little is the LPA-1, I think its around $450, could be $400. I think it all depends on how much the shipping is. Shoot me a pm with an offer and we'll see...
  20. here are some pics. i currently have the mains and center in a 3.1 set up. the rs-42's have been boxed up for the last 3 years (in an air conditioned house).
  21. my bad, i thought my location was under my photo....
  22. just a feeler....anyone interested in RF-7's, RC-7, RS-42, LPA-1, maybe UMC-1? u can check out all the mods i did to them. it's all located in the mod section. a quick run down of the mods: complete crossover upgrade, High and low side. inductors in the mains. 4N wire through out. Sonic Craft caps, mills resistors, all gold plated connections. added .5" foam to horns (simular result of using a wood horn). the surrounds are also upgraded with sonic craft caps. all caps are matched as well. again, more details if you are interested in the mods. i should mention the mains and center are not in "perfect" shape. this is why i am also throwing in the Ebony Aircraft grade A veneer. this veneer i specifically chose becasue it's a rich deep black and very nice copper that accents the woofers very well. there is enough to do the mains, center, and i'll also throw in the amount for the sub (it wouldn't do much good for me to hold on to it). if you are interested i can provide much much much more info. i honestly don't know the value and would need some suggestions or appraisals. located in OKC, OK (73099) i don't have current pics....but they haven't changed since my last pics on here....
  23. not really, it's been a few years now. i was first in tulsa, but i have been in OKC since 08/2011.
  24. is there any K-heads in OKC? i did a search in the members section with the filter "okc" then "oklahoma" and nothing came up. anyways, looking for fellow klipsch people in the area.
  25. Youth, you just made me come out of retirement for this..... you have just entered my crazy world. you know, once you start with something like this, you can't stop! i still have my FULLY modified RF-7's and still love them. they are stuck being using in an apartment in a 3.1 set up, but they still sound nice. you should hear a striking difference between upgraded and not. i know klipch sells an awesome and amazing product, but they can't afford "nicer" name brand resistors or caps in all their gear, the cost would be staggering. what trully happens, your speakers get a nice tune up. an easy way to think of it is, buy a brand new (insert favorite sports car) and install new headers, exhaust, and computer chip. since i haven't been on here in a while, are you thinking of getting the emotiva xmc? it's 2K, a little high for me (good thing i have that 40% off), but from what i have read and heard from emotiva, it seems killer. sorry, i get off topic quick...... you should love this upgrade.......
