  1. Meagain......I don't play guitar as a musican but love to play with them as a hobby for fun, on the other hand my son who is 19 plays bass and has for about five years. He plays in a local band and took lessons for around a year. I think lessons are very important because a good teacher can help improve technique and and work with you on scales. Not to say you can't do this on your own but I know how much this helped my son, and after a year he had a solid foundation. After that you need to get with friends to jam because that is where you can really learn to play and get your chops so to speak..........my son really loves to play, and because he is our only child he has, shall we say been indulged.... His bass guitars include.... 1979 Rick Model 4001...really great condition, as others have said it's a classic.......Warwick 5-string thumb bass, made in Germany......Peavy Cirrus 4-string.....Hohner 5-string........Ibanez Prestige 5-string......a couple other basses that I can't locate..... Needless to say this can turn into an obssesion, almost as bad as klipsch products!!!!! Take that back, I mean to say almost as good as Klipsch products, good luck and have fun however far you go with your bass playing, because fun is what music experiences are all about............ Later..... Steve
  2. I have some LaScalla II's that I've had for about a month and just got an RT12-d this past week.........a good friend came over who has some B&W 802 Nautilus speakers and Sunfire amp..........He loved the way the Klipsch performed, and if you have space for some fairly large cabs check these out. I really like the way RT12-d helps add the bottom end to music and Lord knows it really adds PUNCH to movies! Later... Steve
  3. The movie was very good, "She's a brick house" made it great...........IMO, but I guess I already made that point
  4. The movie was very good, "She's a Brick House" elevated it to great...............IMO

    Saw III

You cut right to the chase........the movie was really intended for the gore factor, problems with the plot of course should not be minimized.......... Steve
  6. A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO TREY CANNON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got my La Scala's late Thursday, just came off of vacation and have not been able to call Trey because of my work schedule.......but will get with him Monday. It has been several years since I owned a pair of Heritage speakers and finally being able to kick back and enjoy the La Scala's has made the last month fade into a fog which will be soon forgotten. Trey was the driving force behind this choice, and although the Belle is a fine speaker I can't get over how GREAT the new La Scala looks and sounds..........the only problem is the need to upgrade my remaining speakers. I am using my old RP-5's for the back, an advent center and a small 8" Klipsch sub.......Trey said I really needed to invest in some kick *** Klipsch to finish things off and he is right on target....... Trey, pictures will be coming your way soon, and once again THANKS, Later, Steve

    Saw III

I'm new to the forum so this post may or may not be seen, but I need to throw another film in the mix. HIGH TENSION, this flick makes Saw III seem tame, and if you make it thru the first scene of Saw III you have earned your boy scout badge for gore! (especially now that it is on Blue Ray Disc) High Tension is a foreign entry that has been dubed to english and is just about one step over the line, it's hard to follow but you pull it together toward the end of the movie..... Later......... Steve
  8. I must admit my mother has a picture of me holding Trey on our Grandmother's porch in Little Rock, Ar when he was probably two months old, and he has always been one of those people who really care about everyone. He is also a give you "hug" guy who has never met a stranger. Later..................Steve
  9. After all of the hassles I'm glad to have the worst behind me.....once again thank you guys for the words of encouragement...I can hardley wait.....the pictures from Hope were cool and the comments on the sound of the new La Scala's makes this choice that much sweeter......... Regards.... Steve
  10. Actually they just came in and I got first shot so it looks like the middle of next week. They have the walnut veneer, the only kicker is 175 lbs., thank the Lord they are at least in four boxes and I have a stout son to help.......once everything gets set I will be proud to post some pictures......... Later, Steve (a very happy boy) Hollowell
  11. I now see a picture under my user name, gee I did't put it there but it probably seals my fate......La Scala's will be the thing. Also my wife knew how bumbed out I was over this long drawn out runaround and gave her blessing... Thanks to everyone for their thoughts. I'll keep you posted, Steve
  12. so true, it's time to move on..........how abot some La Scalla 2's........new in the box, but in this case they are new in the box............ thanks to the forum I got to vent my frustrations and it cost less than a shrink! I'll kick that money in on really NEW Speakers! Thanks for the input.......... Steve
  13. It's just after 9:00 on Tuesday morning and the final{maybe} outcome follows: the dude is to busy at this time and wants to wait until he opens his new store in about two months, I'm tired of his crap and am going to just go with some other options.......I'll call Trey later today and see if he wants me to contact the guy later for him, but the aggrevation doesn't seem to be worth the end result.....or I have finally reached my point of diminishing returns....I may be dumb to not wait him out but somtimes you do what you feel like you have to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Later..... on probably another topic............ Steve
  14. Short and not so sweet.........still no deal. The guy talks the talk but doesn't seem in any hurry to come through.....At this point I'm going to leave it alone for a week until I get off of vacation and see what develops. At that point I will be inclined to post his phone number to see how many of ya would like to enquire about a pair of speakers for a good deal in Arkansas.....Maybe jam his business with calls!!!!!!!! NOT THAT MY TEMPER IS GETTING SHORT! Actually I wouldn't do that, but this guy is getting to be very inconsiderate when he tells me when to call him, and then puts me off and willnot return my call. Any way.......... Later Steve
  15. It is Sunday and I am reminded "All good things come to those who wait". Alas my contact had to go out of town Saturday and I'm still on hold.........However, famous last words were "Monday is my short day and we should be able to meet at my warehouse around noon".....so the saga continues! Trey didn't turn me on to the speakers but if another pair were available he would be very interested! And as a side note my wife must love me because she is not only giving me the chance to upgrade my sound systrem, but I love guitars and in the last three years I've acquired a PRS Custom 22, a Les Paul Elegant Custom shop and my pride and joy a Rick Turner Model 1. Damn, I could have turned that money into these Belle's and a THX Ultra 2 for my home theater............ I guess live and learn is the rule of th day. Thanks for your comments and a prayer would also be appreciated......I really want this deal to come thru............. Steve
  16. It looks like Trey has a very large extended family! If all goes well I will pick up the speakers on Saturday, the seller is really busy and has been putting me off on getting together. Honestly I have not pushed it for fear of blowing the deal............. However my wife called him and said I was driving her nuts being so anal about getting my hands on the Belle's and we needed to finish the transaction, he told her he was sorry but promised a deal would happen this weekend and that the speaker were just sitting in his warehouse! Thank the Lord for a wonderful wife..........does she love me or is she just sick of my crap? Either way life appears to be good! Later...on hopefully a happy ending story...............Steve
  17. I have talked to the seller and we should finalize the details tonight and complete the transaction prior to the end of the week...........I go on vacation next week.....guess what I'll be doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, Trey Cannon is my cousin and is helping me work on a surround system to go with the Belle speakers. I'm looking at the RF-83 system minus the front towers. Trey has worked for Klipsch for some time now and I really value his input. Later .....Steve
  18. it looks like I will probably get the pair for $2000, I'm not sure what finish they have but the speakers should be in perfect condition.........by the way they are out of Bryant which is abouy 5 miles from Little Rock, Arkansas..... Later............Steve
  19. This is my first post and I have a rare opportunity. I have owned everything from heresy to K-horns and currently have a pair of RP-5 speakers. I now have a chance to buy a pair of belle speakers that are 4 to 5 years old still in the original unopened box...... the owner is a dealer who got 4 pair of these when he bought out a business, he traded one pair for a motorcycle, gave two pair to his brother for a house warming gift and has promised me the last pair. He doesn't like BIG speakers and only does in wall applications....BIG QUESTION what should I pay I think I can get them for $2000 to $2500 but if the price goes any above this amount I would appreciate some input from other Klipsch owners..... Thanks in advance....................Steve
