  1. Has anyone ever used a Rotel 1098 with MC275. I am thinking of purchasing a MC275 to drive the mains of my system. I listen to music 75% of the time. I would believe the MC275 would be a good match with my Forte's and I could use the remaining two channels from my 1075 for another zone.
  2. Of course I love New York, Albany was a favorite place to go many, many years ago when the legal age to drink was 18 and it was 21 here. By the way I too appreciate Cornwall's, just too big for my room.
  3. Southwestern part of the state near Keene, NH. 20 miles from Brattleboro, VT
  4. Hello, I live in Cheshire County, New Hampshire. I have owned Klipsch Forte's for twenty years and have enjoyed them very much. Upgraded the crossovers with K-Stacks and most recently installed Bob Crites tweeters. This forum is a great source for information and encouragement to upgrade and try new things. From reading many posts I do not see many members from New Hampshire. So I was wondering if there are any other members in Cheshire Country or over the river in Vermont who would like to share their listening experience. It is alway fun to get feedback from someone else who is interested in the hobby of sound and music.
  5. I am just wondering what others are using for a cross-over HZ with the Forte. Thanks for your reply. Reid
  6. I own a pair of Forte I's. I currently have the cross-over set at 60HZ for passing the bass to my sub when using as part of HT. When in stereo mode I let the Forte's go full range with the sub helping from 90HZ but at a much lower level. Your input would be very much appreciated. Reid
  7. My spider was loose on the metal frame. Did not notice until I pushed gently on the cone. Super glue fixed the problem, Several light coats all around to attach to the metal. No problems since the fix.
  8. You could check the spider on the speaker. This is the material that helps control the motion of the speaker and center it over the coil. I have a sub that had a loose spider. I used some super glue to reattach it and it has never bothered again. Look real close and move the cone, it may be hard to see if the spider is loose.
  9. I also have the KSW200 which does hum if plugged directly into an outlet. When I plug the sub into a two prong plug converter it goes away. Ground problem I suspect. Klipsch does have replacement amps for this unit, I think I was quoted $329.83. This sub also has another bad habit of generating noise when the auto-on is selected. To resolve this, I leave the sub on all the time. When it dies I am thinking of HSU or SVS to replace it. Good luck.
  10. Nice to have another Forte owner on the forum. I have Forte I's as my main L/R speakers with a KV3 for center. Voice, to me, is pretty close and sounds very good. I have Kg 1.5 for surrounds which also work very well. My sub is a KSW200 I think. This sub will be replace next year with a HSU or SVS model. Enjoy[]
  11. Bob, I have the Forte I's with upgraded crossovers, thanks to Chris's K-stacks. The upgrade to the tweeter does look interesting. Question I have is what should I expect? If the range is increased by 3k, I know I will not hear in that range, or for that matter come even close to hearing above 11khz. I do enjoy the Forte's very much, I have owned them for twenty years and have found very few speakers that can compare and none at the price point of the original retail price. I would be very interested to hear from you. I have the utmost respect for you and your engineering skills as many others here on the forum. Best Regards Reid
  12. To all of the happy Forte owners. What have you found to be the ideal space from the back of the speaker to the wall. For me I have 4 inches on one edge and 4.5 on the other so the speaker is toed in just slightly. They are spaced 10 feet apart, no corners since I have a hall way on both sides of this wall. Not ideal but we must work with what we have. They sound great with new K-Stacks, thanks Chris, but in their current location do need a little help from a subwoofer.
