By the way, I am only 15 years old.
One good thing you are doing right, getting advice. Most 15 year olds think they know it all. Keep it up.
If you get either one of these speakers, you will be the envy of your peers.

Would those sound as good as a pair of RF-62s? I found a pair of RF-62s new for $600.
Good price for the 62's but the KLF-30's and KLF-20's rank right up there(or higher) with the RF-7's ,RF-83's,RF-63's. Having a midrange horn really smooths things out.

Take a look at the second link I sent you. Twenty dollars more than you want to spend but three times the quality.

KLF-20's, KLF-C7, KSW-15----All for $800.00
Call this guy now! He(Mike) is waiting on your call. This setup will smoke the doors off any of the speakers you are considering.
Forum members chime in and help confirm this.

Rickyjay,
Where are you located? I think you would be better off exploring the used market to get more bang for your buck. Personally I think the VF-36's are ugly and you can't remove thhe woofer grills. What's that all about?

I am not sure but if you are not using it for commerce I think you will be okay. Maybe some Klipsch employees will let you know for sure.

Welcome to the forum.
Stick with the RC-7!!! The RC-62 is a great center channel but with the RF-7's you will not come close to voice matching.
Here is an idea if you are having trouble finding a suitable stand that will accomodate your RC-7. Get something like this and place on your stand and use it as a riser to raise the plasma about 6 inches above the stand. Then you can place your RC-7 right in front of the riser. I am considering getting one to raise my bedroom LCD up a little higher so my center channel does not block view. I know weight might be a concern so make sure you check for weight limits.

If the majority of your listening is 2 channel and not watching movies, get the sub first.

You want drums. Rush---Snakes and Arrows Live. Fantastic on Blu-ray.

I say get the RC-62. It is crucial for the center to be voiced matched to the mains. You do not have to buy the same brand of subwoofer.

would you be able to suggest a fair price for the 22** and 23** series in good used conditions?
I bought my 2252b for $125.00 a few months ago. The price range for the Marantz can be as little as $50.00 for 22** series to as much as $800.00 for 23** series. There are so many models of these receivers that rarity, wattage, and condition can play into the price you will pay.
Do an advanced search on Ebay and plug in some of the models and see what the completed listings closed at. Here is what I pulled up:
The last twenty 2230's(30w) sold for a low of $31.00 to a high of $227.50
The last two 2330's(130w) sold for $380.00 and $710.00
As you can see a huge range of prices.

can u tell how much the stuff has been costing u
If you asked my wife she would say too much.
also plz suggest prices for chorus and fortes and of quartets equally
Looking at the way the market is today, used prices have a larger range.
Quartet's---------------$250.00 to $500.00
Forte's(I & II)------------------$350.00 to $650.00
Chorus's(I & I)----------------$375.00 to $750.00
These days asking prices are all over the board.
Take all this with a grain of salt. A motivated or uninformed seller will clearly be on the low end while others will try to sell them as if they are brand new.
I bought my Forte's(great condition) back in March for $450.00. At the time a good price. I saw an add for a pair of Forte's the other day for $200.00.

Sorry, don't mean to hijack, but when you say 'vintage marantz', what models specifically? And does that statement also apply to the Cornwalls? thanks
That kind of hijacking is legal. Any of the mid to late 70's Marantz receiver's(22** series or 23** series) sound great with Q's,F's,Ch's,H's,CW's.

Welcome to the forum.
All your speakers will be timbre matched. One thing I would change would be your mains. With a room of that size, I think you would be happier with the RB-81's instead of the 61's if you can afford them. Again with such a large room, a bigger sub would be advised.
Klipsch speakers sound great with most rock music with Metallica being a fine example.

Get a modern SS setup to power your RF-3 HT and a vintage Marantz or tubes to power a pair of Forte's for 2 channel.
The main reason I think the Heritage/extended Heritage line of speakers sound better for 2 channel is the midrange horn.
Take a look at my system setups at bottom of page. Forte's and Quartet's sound awesome with low power vintage or high power seperates.

Welcome to the forum.
I have a pair of Forte's being powered by a Marantz 2252b(52w) receiver set up in a 13x13 room. The bass is just short of overwheming(in a good way). I have them in the corners pulled out about 13" from each wall toed in only about 5 degrees. With the EQ on the Marantz set to flat and the loudness button off, the bass is still prominent. I have to turn back the bass EQ to about one quarter to get it right.
Even when I had the Forte's set up in a 16x25 room, the bass was still strong.
My point is even if you buy the lesser of the three models(Forte II), the bass will not be lacking.
Many factors play a role in sound(bass) reproduction: room size/acoustics, amplification, woofer size, etc.

Shaunm,
What model Onkyo receiver do you have? If it does not have pre-outs, you can't connect an external amp. It probably only has a pre-out for a subwoofer. If your receiver doesn't have preouts, set the receiver's crossover at 80hz as Youthman suggested and see if the bass increases. This will let the sub's amplifier handle the low bass and the Onkyo's amps handle the upper bass, mids, and highs. Your receiver's amps will then have some power reserves to spare.

Shaunm,
You most certainly did not make a mistake. While the RF-82's do provide an incredible amount of bass alone(no sub), the RF-63's definitely have a more refined sound from the lows to the highs. If I had to guess what the cause of your concern is, I would say your low-end Onkyo(75w/ch) receiver is the culprit. When I powered my 63's with my Onkyo(100w/channel) alone without a sub, the bass was lacking.
I added a B&K 200w/ch amp to my Onkyo and voila', BASS,BASS,BASS. Even though the 63's are very efficient speakers(99dB), to move all three of those 6.5" woofers with authority, you need some more clean juice.
Note this is my experience only, I am sure others will offer their opinions.

Yes you can remove them. They come from the factory like that to prevent dust, styrofoam balls, etc. from getting inside. Pop em out with a knife and plug in the bananas and you are good to go.

Michael,
Happy birthday.
I only know you from your posts but with 25,002 and counting(hopefully), I think I have an idea who you are. Nice touch on the watertable between Hardiboard and limestone.

Sold him my KG4's back in June. I have not talked to him in a while. He had his Heathkit's for sale on C-list a couple of weeks ago.

I will definitely agree with Youthman.
For example, my family room HT setup msrp was around $11000.00. The price I paid piecing things together over time(new and used), was less than $5000.00.
My family room 2 channel setup was even better. Price retail was around $4000.00. Price paid(all used), $471.00.
Believe me, their are others on this forum who have done better than me. Learn to be like a hawk in a tree. Spot dinner and pounce. Keep a sharp eye on C-list and other used gear websites and have cash in hand.

F-3 or VF-36?

While getting a more powerful receiver is not necessary, it would give you more headroom. Does your receiver have preouts to connect an outboard amp to? If so, and you feel you need more oomp, get an amp when funds become available.
