  1. Yeah... I feel so extremly stupid that i fell for the oldest trick in the book.
  2. Just wanted to shear with you the oldest scamming trick in the book(that i felt for...). www.berthoaudioshop.com is problably a big hi-fi fraud. Don't order something from him. He will just take you money and stop replying to your e-mails. http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6343
  3. Congratulations! Hope the trip is fantastic! []
  4. Hey guys and girls. Just wanted to tell you about this "big" hi-fi convention we have here in Norway once a year. This year it was more than 40 supplyers displaying over 200 brands in 2 hotells in a little town called Horten. Many scandinavian brands that maby even you havent heard of?? Well, i took a trip there today, and it was a very nice evening. Alot of tubes, vinyl, big-*** speakers(i'm talking about from the floor to the roof speakers), and alot of nice gear... Upgrade Audio had a nice set of speakers and mono tubes, along with a dac and a nice cd-player. He(the guys from Upgrade Audio) played a very nice song by Rammstein with alot of guitar and vocal. Those 2x14 W tubes gave the sound a nice warmth and the little speakers kicked like a mule. The ginourmus(is that a word?) Midgard Audio's speakers names "Gaia" was something i had never seen before. They where huge, reaching almost the sealing. 2 15" woofer on each speaker, and a insane front. I think this was the best sound of the convention. Well, here is some links to pictures and stuff. Sorry for my bad english. Just ask if you want something transelated. Main site: http://www.hifimessen.no/ The Midgard Audio "Gaia": http://avforum.no/forum/attachments/pressemeldinger-audio/23318d1190936173-pressemelding-verdenspremiere-midgard-audio-gaia-img2-edit.jpg Pictures beginning at page 6: http://avforum.no/forum/generelle-pressemeldinger-nyheter/57300-hi-fi-messen-2007-horten-lordag-11-19-sondag-11-18-bilder-post-108-a.html More pictures will come, as this convention ended today only 5 hours ago. -Tom
  5. Thanks for looking in the the case, Bob! Really apriciate it. I have looked at Rotel and Vincent pre-amps, but now, maby i'll just use my Roksan instead. I may get a hold of a Cambrige-Audio preamp, but we'll see. I'll let you all know how it turns out. Thanks again Captain Bob!
  6. Something's going terribly wrong here. [] The MC275 is a stereo poweramp producing 2x75 watts, hence the name. Normally this poweramp should be controlled by a preamp. It is however possible to connect cd directly into the amps input and regulate volume with the output switches, one per channel. In the long run not recommended. Now, what 'my remote' are you talking about? MC275 has no ir, because it was built to be a poweramp not a preamp. Is the fog clearing up? Tim Thanks for you interest in this case Tim! I'm new to this pre-amp and power-amp thing you see. What i really meant when i wrote "my remote", was the remote of my Roksan integrated amp. I'm wondering if i could use the pre-amp stage of my integrated Roksan amp controll the MC 275. If not, does anyone have a nice pre-amp to recomend? Not a Mac, but something else that does the job and don't cost a Porche...
  7. Not unless your MC275 comes with a remote. Does the MC275 have IR?[:|]
  8. After i read your post a cupple of times, i think i understood what to do. But anyone think there is a chance that i could use my amp as a preamp, so i can adjust the volume with my remote for instance?
  9. It's a 1992/1993 gow edition mc 275. It's this amp: http://www.roksan.co.uk/kan_amplifier.html and it's this player: http://www.roksan.co.uk/kan_dvd.html Where do i adjust the volume? Hope you bear with me on the stupid questions...[]
  10. The MC 275 is listed as a power amp, but it has 2 set of rca inputs. Does that mean i can hook it up with a cd-player, or do i have to use a pre-amp? I altso have a Roksan int. amp. Can i use this as a pre-amp?
  11. Hey guys and girls. Does anyone have any experience with www.berthoaudioshop.com or www.hificlassifieds.com?
  12. I can tell you that it's hard to find a company who can providfe a demo, period. No one in a 1000 mile radius can give me a demo of the heritage systems. But the importer of Klipsch in Norway said that i could call them a little later on, and they would give me an "exclusive demo", even though they don't have a shop, just a office. That's what i call a nice importer!
  13. They are officially launching later this month, but I believe initial quantities have already been snatched up. It may be a while before you can find them in select specialty stores. 3 finishes, all wood veneers. There's a light (as shown in the press release), a medium reddish tint (as shown in my daily photo blog from a week or so ago), and a dark brown, which I don't have a picture of yet. These are the accumulation of our knowledge, technology, and resources, so I would say they are our new statement, yes! Thanks for the "inside info" Amy! I talked to the norwegian importer today, and he had already pre-ordered 10 pairs. He was looking foreward to hear them. He also said it was 3 nine inch woofers, and the chassis was based on the RF-7/83. The people he had talked to in the stats who had listend to it, said it was amazing. Like nothing else... This is going to be great!
  14. Anyone got some juicy info on theese speakers?
  15. Thanks, uhm, Daddy, for your excelent answer! It was this kind of detailed answer i was looking for. Now i am beginning to understand the difference between theese two speakers. I'll open a store if the Klipsch forum promise to become regular customers!
  16. Haha, good one... Well, i work in the electronics business, and i do agree that the whole "B&O design trend" is taking over. It's almost that they make you pay for their "genius" design, not whats inside(not that their's anything worth paying for anyway...). I like good looking audio equipment and speakers, maby even with a small amount of twist, but i don't want it to look like a UFO or a goddamn chocolat...
  17. Well.... It was only 92 degrees (33.3 Celsius). But then I'm in south central Florida (Okeechobee/ Fort Pierce area). But it's cooling off!!![ip] God... Let me move to Florida! I can work with about anything! Maby open up a Klipsch store.[*-)]
  18. Let me ask a new question; what is the differense between La Scalas I and II? And is it worth the double price tag in the II's?
  19. Claude's right, test with music that you know and have heard before. I have preferences for certain types of music for either the LaScala's, or the Cornwalls. Both are "stock" at the moment, but have new caps, etc. Rock & Roll - Cornwall (that's just me), vocals/ classical, I like the LaScalas. It's going to be a compromise at some point. If you have a chance, also listen to the Klipschorns. That may also help out. How's the weather in your area (Oslo, Stavanger, etc., where are you located; been to Norway a long time ago) Should be cooling off by now!![H] Thanks for the tips guys. Yeah, it's not exactly warm in the evnings/nights(i live 1 hour south of Oslo). Some evnings its down to 5 degreeds ceclius. But today it was t-shirt weather in the middel of the day. How's the weather over there?
  20. Yeah, i thought it might be a difficult and stupid question. Why i ask, is because the LaScala II's is listed twice as expensive as the cornwall III's, soi thought that LaScalas is a more expensive and better speaker. But as you say, i'll just take a road trip some day and listen to both the LaScala's and CW's and make up my mind.
  21. I read that a distributer had a speciall offer on the La Scala I. And i saw that the price of the La Scala I's and the Cornwall III's were the same. So, i think i mean La Scala I, hehe.
  22. Is the La Scala I much better than the Cornwall III ? I guess the answer is "Hell yeah!", but just want to hear your humble review of the 2 speakers.
  23. Yeah, Danish Jamo we've heard of. I work at one of the biggest electronic/householding companies, and a while ago, we had a deal with Jamo, but it's closed now, due to some bad service and so on. But now that Klipsch own's it, i'm sure it's a whole other thing. Think i have to take a road trip to Germany with alot of $$$ in my pockets and fill up the car with equipment!
