Glad you were able to sell them. You kept your speakers in very nice condition I'm sure their new owners will appreciate it!

Someday when I move into a house I will have a vintage two-channel rig but not sure if it would be Corns or Scalas.
Scalas, all day long is my vote

Sweet score! Good thing space is limited because I was gonna say don't listen too long, you might end up wanting a pair for yourself!

This is a little off topic, but IbizaFlame have you ever had the chance to listen to the RF-5's or 7's?
-
I thought it might be. I think I've only ever seen the 10 in the black veneer. I've seen the 12 and 15 in maple and cherry though.

Which color is it?

I can vouch for the quality of Hsu subs. My first real sub was a 12" Hsu VTF-3 MK3 with turbo and it's still rocking away today at my good buddies house. I actually had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Hsu in person, he's straight up awesome guy who loves his work and shows in the products his company makes.

The 10 packs a lot of punch for a smaller sub. Like K5SS mentioned, had space at the time not been an issue I would have kept it for a computer sub as well, but I was given a RSW-15 from my bro-in-law who found one in a storage locker he bid on and won and something needed to go or the wifey mighta had words with me

Such a pretty pair of speakers

Looks good man! I just picked up a black finish pair of Scalas as well, and like you, I'm loving them more and more each day.

Nice write up Derrick, I loved my Fortés, such a good all around speaker that could easily get by without a sub.

Well now I am,thinking just going with 1 good sun that will not only work in my current room but also work in my new bigger living room when I finally move. So even though I am,very very impatient I think I may go with the psa v1500 when it is back in stock for $1049
Sounds like a solid plan bud!

I second Kaspersky, it's been least system bogging down service I've used, and it's just a great anti virus/spyware etc preventer.

How big an improvement do the Super X's provide?
-
Are those AL-3 xovers?Don' listen to Max... The k55 is fine, as well as the k400 horn, unless you listen at pretty high levels.
Just enjoy for a while.
I was comparing the LS's to Chorus.
I do have something that would benefit them and they will soon be in the garage sale section.
BTW, that's a 401 composite mid, not a cast 400.
-
For those that want to know, I ended up taking these bad boys $400 =)

I'm so happy with how the sound is now I have no desire to do so. If I did update anything it would be just to keep everything running smoothly. I know caps and xovers need a refresh at some point, but I'll wait a bit before I get there. Those look really nice. Just listen for a while before someone convinces to upgrade all the parts.

SVS is a great choice, just be careful though, one sub usually leads to two =)

I don't think you can go wrong either way, if you can swing it, buy both compare the two, then send the one you don't end up keeping back. I know SVS, has a pretty fantastic return policy.

You need K-Horns for those corners!!
I gotta ease my wife in slowly or she might suspect something is up

Oh and if someone could give me a hand in figuring out how old they are, I'd appreciate it
The serial number shown in the photo above... 98 46 0001
Means they were manufactured during the 46th week of 1998. With serial numbers 0001 and I'm guessing 0002.
The LSBK17 is LaScala Black. The only part I'm not completely sure about is the 17... But I believe it refers to the grill cloth color (black).
Hope that helps. There are also a couple of threads here in the forum that cover the date numbering schemes, wood/veneers and other options of the heritage line.
Thank you sir! I was just curious to their age for how good condition they are in.

Black wouldn't be my first choice, but I must say I'm very pleased with the condition they are in.
I have to give big up's to my wife for letting me have the Chorus' in there with the scalas in our tiny living room so I could compare the two, though I wish I had thought of taking a picture of the clutter. It was quite entertaining trying to move around with all the speakers LOL. A side note, I had the RB-81's in the living room for a little bit before I moved them back into the garage for my HT, so I brought them back in for the wifey to experience the difference between a bookshelf and a heritage speaker, needless to say there was a big difference.

Looks good Scrappy! The Palladium's look so sweet, such a nice finish on them! Glad you had the opportunity to give them a try. How do you 904's sound to them in comparison?
