  1. What is the proper fuse size/type for the kp-250? Mike
  2. Hi, I am new to the forum and looking to see if any of you guys are up here in the Pacific NW? I am getting back into being an audiophile and and am looking a attending the Pacific NW Audio Society. Thanks, MikeD
  3. I was browsing Craiglist and came across these... It's a bit of a drive for me. What do you think? This is a set of 1956 Klipsch Short Horn Ortho Drive Speakers. Great purchase for a collector or a fan of Klipsch. One has the original sticker dated Sept. 25, 1956 with the original price of $239.00 written on the speaker. Model #SU-15, Serial #625. They are in excellent shape. One owner built into a home in the 1950's. They are 36 1/2" high, 24" wide, 14 1/2" in depth. These are rare and difficult to find, especially in such great condition. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ele/442629665.html
  4. Ah, I sold both of them at the Stereo Shoppe, Tacoma, WA in 1985 as my first job. It depends what you want... The 801's are very flat, go very deep, and very detailed; they show every flaw in anything that is hooked up to them. You could dump 300w/ch into them and get them reasonably loud. I had dual Hafler DH-500's bridged. The Heresy's were excellent and efficient but lacked the bottom end. I found the Heresy's base was muddled because of floor coupling. I added the tilted stands that made things much better. We raised them up about a foot they sounded even better. If I remember right, the 801's were double or triple the cost and as I listened to both over the months I kept coming back to the 801's w/ the Haflers over the Heresey's w/ the Luxman hybrid tube pre-amp. 5. I used 4 of these for outside dances at college w/ 12000 watts of crown behind them. We measured 121 db A Weighted at 50' away! We used a 31 band eq on them and they were insane. Solid umph and no the Klipsch W's (As much as I love them) do not do what these do for the size. We also used the EV matching Mid/Hi boxes with another 12000 watts of power. They actually imaged at that 121 db w/ NO distortion. My wife was two miles away at our house while I was doing the dance. She said, "I enjoyed the music Mike I heard every single note!"
