I have a pair of La Scala and one speaker is missing the Klipsch emblem. Does anyone have one lying around? If so, how much you want for it? Inserted an image but it's not showing in post. Thanks, Jav

Hello all. I have an opportunity to buy a pair of Klipsch speaakers, don't know what model, though. Each cabinet has an 8" and 12" speaker as shown below. I could probably use this as front speakers for my small TV in the living room. Should I buy it?

Very nice indeed. Clean, roomy, and very inviting. Good choice of room colors; I have simillar color for my HT, dark hunter green for walls and dark walnut for ceiling but dressed with Auralex acoustic foams. Thanks for sharing!

Same method I used to triangulate my mains. Determine sitting distance from TV and that is the spot where the mains intersect. You can dynamically ajdust your dB but your distance to TV will always be static...unless you have a rocking chair... You'll have a wonderful system.

I'm also wondering if the HT orientation looks exactly how it's drawn.

Yup, saw them Belles but I was after the Khorns. I already have a pair of Scala and the thought was to get these Khorns for mains and use one of my Scala as center. BTW, the Belles were sold same price as Khorns, $1500.

Khorns face was custom-made to match a China Cabinet, I was told.

Darn it....was my first to attend an estate sale and didn't realized you have to be early, take a number, and stand in line. I didn't know...as a result of my ingorance, a pair of delicious-looking Klipschorn went to another home for $1500!!!! waaaaa! Actually, I could see the speakers from outside and while waiting for my number to be called, I could see no one even looked at it yet because the guys that went before me were told the speakers were all the way to the back of the warehouse. However, once those guys started to head back to the front, I know it was too late for me...

THX Select 2 certification dictates, among other things, room size and speaker position to achieve best possible sound at any reference level. You still have to calibrate your receiver so that each speaker is balanced; eg, 75-80db to listening position. Scan the forum on discussions of speaker placement and calibration. I used to watched movies with THX Movie setting on my receiver but changed it to Monofilm after speakers calibration. I noticed a big difference between the two settings; THX Movie seems a little bright at times while Monofilm setting seems to produce better dynamics. I guess you just have to try different settings on your receiver to find your favorite setup. Have fun!

Thanks for sharing the link. I bought an SPL, used it, and my HT sounds so much better! As far as I can tell, my speakers are much more balanced now than it was before the SPL calibration. All speakers are set to ~80db and I don't have to touch the volume level control anymore; eg, dialogues or vocals -vs- explosions or thunders, dynamics are just right and neither are overwhelming. I'd recommend an SPL calibration, that is, if the receiver or amplifier allows for speaker tuning.

What I'd love to have is a Belle or Scala for Center...only problem is singles rarely come by.

I have an opportunity to acquire a pair of Chorus II, or Forte II. Since I replaced my mains with La Scala, everytime I watched movie now, I keep on staring at my rc-3 with contempt...lol Which of these speakers, Chorus or Forte, would work best as my center? Thanks, jav

Hi Andreas. Let me be the first to welcome you to the forum! You're in a predicament my friend...but a good one. Either option will bring Klipsch in your home for you to enjoy. Personally, I'd go with 42 system and the sub. Either 52 or 42, imho, are not sufficient enough to perform an efficient LFE so a seperate sub is preferred. Good luck!

If I had RF-83s, I'd show them off! Heck, I'd even bring them out to the street for everyone to see! heheee...well maybe not. I love the look of the RF series. The size and colors are perfect fit for my HT. In my search to upgrade my RF-3s, I was actualy looking for an RF-83. Not too many out there now days.

I wouldn't put too much time into the science. Temporarily attached, if possible, the panels to side walls and ceiling and do the clap and yell test. If you no longer hear echoes then that's your setting. Place the panels in aesthetic configuration so not too affect the rooms aesthetic appearance. In truth, when you are watching your favorite movie and volume setting to reference level, at that point, echoes are just part of the special sound effects..

That's a pretty good price for high-quality panels.

When I finished building my HT room, all drywalls up and ceiling closed, I placed my self at the center of the room. I clapped my hands and I can definitely hear the echoing(boing!) effect. It also has an effect on normal conversation in the room; vocal from a person 3 feet away sounds un-natural; it has that high-pitched echoic-reverb effect. So I did what you did...started to look at different accoustic panels. I end up going to a music instrument shop and bought couple box of Auralex 2" acoustic panels. I placed them according to the recommended locations and the effect is huge. I'm in the middle of the room, clapped my hands and echo(boing!) is gone. The "clap" sound goes away and never comes back. Vocal sounds are more natural. You will not regret having them panels in your HT room. You have a nice HT btw, Attached is a pic of my panels.
