Ha!Ha! You guys are pretty funny. I'm sorry for the confusion but I do not intend to paint the speakers. I'm building a new computer with all the latest tech, Geforce 3, 256MB PC2100 DDR ram, Tbird 1333 or it's soon to be released successor, ect. The case alone is costing me over $600.00 as I'm modding it to O/C the crap out of everything. I have my computer hooked up to my Reference Series speakers and my ProMedias so I want to paint the case to match the speakers. It's a black Alienware case so I want to Paint the fan grills,power buttons,eject buttons,ect... the same color as the cones on the speakers. I've already emailed BobG for the Pantone number I just wanted to clear things up.

Does anyone know what color spray paint would match the copperish goldish color of the Reference Series cones?

Does anyone know what color spray paint would match the copperish goldish color of the klipsch badge on the ProMedias? I'm modding my computer case and wanted to accent the case to match the Pro Medias.

80hZ is the normal crossover on most receivers when you use the LFE on the receiver. I for one would be very surprised if your SB-3's could produce better bass than my SVS sub below 80hZ. With my other speakers and sub I always had them set to large and I did the same thing with these until I got the new sub and listened to the speakers on small and large. I could definitely hear a difference and so could my friends. I never would have thought this because I figured with towers they could handle the bass and they can but when I set them to small they sound more detailed. Maybe it depends on your speakers but all you have to do is listen to them on small and large and what ever sounds better is the answer for you. Like I said this is one of those big debates so if you think your speakers sound better on large then that's the way for you to go. I never would have tried it but the guys at SVS suggested it to me and I think in my case they were right.

Good choice on speakers. The System 6 is great. As far as receivers you can't go wrong with Denon. In other words you won't go to a friends house and feel you wasted your money after hearing a different receiver. If I was buying a new receiver I would listen to Denon,Onkyo and Marantz. All 3 of these companies make great receivers, any of which will sound sweet.

Been busy lately so I'm slow replying. Erdric is right, I have a SVS 16-46PC and at low levels in the night it still shakes everything. Now I could turn it up and down all the time but that's a pain in the *** because every movie is different. Like I said I turn the sub off and the mains to large so I get some bass from the speakers and I get the feel from the bass shakers. Turning the mains to large or small is another big debate. I have RF-3's for mains which will go lower than SB-3's but IMO I feel that if you have a good sub it should play the bass because that's what it's designed for. I feel your mains are able to do a better job on mids and highs when they are set to small. They will still play down to 80hZ depending on your receiver so you don't loose any sound stage and any bass below this if your sub is placed right should be non-directional. Like I said it's one of those big debates. Maybe it depends on the speakers you have but in my testing my speakers sound clearer when set to small letting the sub do the bass. Which do you think reproduces bass better, your sub or your speakers? If you answered the speakers you either have really good speakers or you need a new sub.

Good choice. For the money the Sony is pretty good. You will still have the neighbor problem. I also have the same problem. In the night time I have to turn the sub off and set my mains to large because the SVS really pisses off the neighbors. I still missed being able to feel the bass so I went and bought a set of bass shakers for watching movies at night. It's not the same as my sub but it does add some feel to movies so now I don't mind having to turn off the sub. Don't get me wrong bass shakers are no substitute for a good sub but they are a good compromise for night time movies. As a side note I made a 16Hz test tone for my sub just for fun and I was going to see how much dB it could put out. I never even got the SPL meter on it. When I got up to 1/3 volume the entire apt. started to shake and a neighbor who lives down the hall came to see if I was OK. If you have any problems with your neighbors just tell them, at least they don't live near me.

Go with the Synergy System 6. No I don't own them I have the Reference Series so that's not why I'm recomending the System 6. The System 6 IMO blows away any speaker package in that price range including the Quintets & the Energy Take 5 that gets recomended so much at the Home Theater Forum.

The SS-1 should be fine for your current setup. Matching the surrounds to the rest of the system is not as important as matching the center and mains. Go to the Klipsch home page and click home audio followed by speaker matching chart.

I would get the RC-3 to go with the RB-5 or RF-3 because it is more important that your mains and centre match. It would be nice to have the RS-3 for the rear but if money is a problem then I would up grade the SS-1 later on because matching the surrounds is not as important as matching the mains and centre.

boa12 other than this problem do you hear or see any difference in your HT? I've been thinking about purchasing Avia so I'm interested in what you thought over all. Up here in Canada I could get a couple DVD's or another set of bass shakers for the same price so if you never noticed much difference I won't waste my money.

Why do you want a Cerwin Vega sub? The only thing I can figure is that you are trying to match them to your speakers or you know someone who sells them and can get a great deal. I guess the only thing I can do is refer you to their site www.cerwin-vega.com because the only Cerwin Vega's I've ever heard were cheap crap. I've never heard any one rave about their subs and I'm a member of a lot of message boards.The only thing I can tell you is that their subs don't play real low. If you want to check out some products that I know are top notch look at SVS,Paradigm & Velodyne. Any one of these three would be a great sub.

Easy answer,SVS. All the reviews lately about SVS are because they can't be beat in their price range. Paradigm & Velodyne also make good subs. I spent a couple of months auditioning subs. Paradigm & Velodyne definitely make great products but you would have to spend 2-3 times as much to beat SVS and even then I think it would be close. No disrespect to Klipsch but there are a lot of better subs out there in the same price range as the KSW-15.

Your KLF-30's do a pretty good job with bass but nothing beats a good sub. I don't know what your budget is but you should look at Paradigm,Velodyne,& SVS. They all make great subs. I did a lot of traveling over Christmas(took 2 months off)and every chance I got I was auditioning subs. Paradigm & Velodyne took no prisoners and they beat everything I listened to in their classes. I received my SVS 16-46PC the other day and I personally feel that it kicks the **** out of everybody. What ever your price range is if you buy a sub by any of these companies you can't go wrong. I have just about enough money saved to build a new house. Another 2 to 3 years and I will be able to build a house and pay cash and not need to bother with a mortgage. I plan on having a room dedicated to HT and would like to know if anyone knows of any sites that have construction plans for HT rooms. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Yes they have a new quiet amp and it's more powerful, 700 watts. I have RF3's for mains with the RC3 and RS3's. When the new RF5's and RF7's come out I plan on using one of them for mains and using the RF3's as a second set of surrounds.

It's here! I just spent the past two days listening to music and watching a lot of my favorite DVD scenes and all I can say is,AWESOME! Just like a lot of people have said before it was like watching for the first time. Any action based movie or heavy bass music will blow you away. Last night a couple of the guys came over for a few beers and to check out the sub. We watched movies that we were all familiar with,(Jurassic Park,Lost World,Blade,Matrix and Saving Private Ryan)and everyone was amazed by the sub. There are some nice HT systems up here in the Arctic because everyone makes big coin and can afford what they like. I've heard a few good subs up here but the simple fact is that SVS KICKS ***!

I have not posted anything in a while because I took about 2 months off for Christmas. I finally recieved notice yesterday that my 16-46PC had shipped from SVS. I ordered it back in late October so I can hardly wait for it to get here. I just wanted to say that the guys at SVS are great. I sent them a fair amount of e-mail and they were very quick to respond unlike other companies I have delt with in the past. I live in the Artic so I figure it will be about 2 weeks before it arrives. I'll let you guys know what I think when I get it setup.
