  1. Problem with that is I can only find 2...so after the obvious what's next?
  2. I recently aquired a set of Athena S3/P2 speakers ( http://www.athenaspeakers.com/products/s3-specifications/) to use a rears. I'm trying to figure out how to best set them up to use the Audysessy calibration. I have the RF-82's as mains. RC62 as center. Does anyone have any suggestions? On the P2 is a bass response from 50 to 150 and a volume. I guess I kinda am wondering where I should set that bass response before I run the Audysessy. Also Audysessy always sets the mains as full band on the Onkyo 805. I read that most folks suggest not using full band? What do you guys think? thnx
  3. Onkyo 805 with Rf-82 fronts and RC-62 center.Sub is RW-12 . Audessy sets full band. Should I stick with that?
  4. I know the specs...was hopimg for an opinion from someone whose listened to both!
  5. Hope not to upset anyone...but I was wondering how these Infinities would stack up against the RF15's? They aren't new so the price is very very good! http://reviews.cnet.com/separate-speakers/infinity-beta-50-cherry/4505-7869_7-31296960.html
  6. There are 2 sub hookups on the 805...the one I suspected to be the right one was wrong... maybe you choose that one as well?
  7. What was the general consensus of that review?
  8. Thnx guys...just from a little trial and error I seem to like the Depth setting. As this is movies only setup that follows from your explaination. When it says that it accents certain frquency, does that mean you lose any of the higher frequency?
  9. I did read the manual and basically I was looking to understand how it bumps it up...you mean it makes it louder? Bumping those frequency for what reason?
  10. Can some briefly summarize these settings and recommend what I should use for movies with the RW-12d? thnx
  11. Ressurecting an old thread. I'm looking for some direction on this exact same topic. If priced equally which wouuld be the better Sub. RW-12d or the Sub 12??? tia
  12. Turns out that it's the sub and not the speakers....even in calibration mode (using an SPL meter) to set the db level I find it's a bit uncomfortable. I'm using the RW-8. This same sub doesn't bother me in the upstairs portion of the home. It's only become an issue since I installed the Projector down stairs. Something in the room acoustics I guess??
  13. Went to try and power up 2 rw-8's to see what it would be like... One gives no worthwhile volume . Turns out it the volume level won't go beyond about 1/4 of the other no matter what. I hooked it up separate with 2 different cables and try both the inputs...nothing works...volume is about 1/4 of what it should be!
  14. any small kids at your house? mine did that once and I found little gifts have been pushed into the hole!
  15. I guess I'm not too bright when it comes to audio equipment.Honestly unless it's real bad it all sounds good to me. I've had Klipsch computer speakers and quintets and now Floor standing...never heard of speakers hurting ears till now. I'm gonna give it a little more time. My room is typical for a living space. Coouch, loveseat, carpet, pictures. couple windows(albeit covered) PJ is short for Projector...thought you all would figured that out! I will go back and try the speakers on a different AVR. I am curious!
  16. I have a Yamaha RX V540 hooked up to Klipsch quintets rsx3? and a rc25 center. Never had an issue. This new stuff is setup for a PJ and while the volume may have been a bit loud to start I turned it down. Not sure what to think. Hard for me to swallow that the amp can cause my ears to hurt tho!
  17. I didn't realize it at the time but when I demoed the speakers they were all running thru Onkyo amps.Four types of Klipsch Floor standers and 4 different amps. We were only using music at the time. My ears hurt pretty badly then and I got very agitated but didnt know why till after. I thought it was cause the music is too loud....crap. I thought the Onkyo is a great receiver!?
  18. are u serious? get rid of the Onkyo?
  19. Hi folks, I'm new here and I'm looking for advice. I've just upgraded my speakers system to the RF-15 and rc25 center. I also udated my amp to the Onkyo 805. I played Transformers HD version to kinda test things out and within minutes my ears were hurting. I turned it down as much as possible but while the pain lessened it was not removed. My daughter who is 20 yrs old never had any issues... I am wondering what if anything I can do? thnx
