  1. So I got them sanded down, wiped off, and the first coat of Watco walnut Danish oil is on. I guess they look decent overall. Honestly, I'm not going to keep these as the funds from them will further my Belle project. There are no emblems on the grills; is it worth buying some of those plastic knock offs on ebayour just for selling them? Original emblems are way expensive. Plus not having their tags on the backs, there's not an easy way to date when they were made. I've had 3 pairs of Heresy's thru the years and do like the way they sound, for what they are. But, there's nowhere else I'd be able to use them as the living room is my main listening area for now. Until, (1) I build the attic into a listening room or, (2) we buy or build a new house where I have that dedicated area.

So these will be coming up for sale soon but still wanted opinions on the grill emblems. I thought about doing some new walnut veneer on them but don't think there's enough ROI in doing so.

  2. That's what I mainly meant....those cheap knock offs. Like the type they used in some older car audio stuff in cheap full range boxes.

It's odd that a person can buy a used, or new, K-33 woofer for a lot less than the new replacement Heresy woofers. I bought a new pair of K-33's for less than half of what a replacement Heresy woofer runs. (But I know lots of dealers)

There's quite a few used K-22's and K-24's on ebay right now. Even some red surround versions that are around 8 ohm. Might be an option.

  3. Could a pair of these potentially work on my Belle clone project?  I've already got a new pair of K-33 woofers and will most likely build a 3-way design.  Any idea what the depth is on this horn with a K-55 attached?  I'm open for space on the top hat of my Belle's and will most likely use the CT120 or 125.

  4. Yeah, this paint had taken about 3 rounds per side. It's been a pain compared to when I used Strypeeze taking black paint off the solid oak top and bottom caps of a pair of POLK SDA's. After this is done, I move to mineral spirits and steel wool and maybe get some paint on them tomorrow after work. I've been off today and this is mostly what I've been doing.

I've got to get some new gasket material for all the drivers, too. And a couple pieces of the round velcro dots.
