  1. i had the fine experience of having a set of rs-35's removed after the auction had went for 4 of the 5 days and had been bid up above my expectations. ebay stated that klipsch had the auction stopped because of copyright infringement. the funny part was that another auction i watched end for the exact same item, used the exact same text for specifications that i had used. not to mention i did not get my $17 in fees returned to me... i re-listed them slightly different and they sold anyway.
  2. i had a chance to get out and see the U2 imax concert that is also in 3D. if this show is playing anywhere near you, it is a MUST SEE! i am by no means a huge U2 fan, but they really put their all into the live show. the show was filmed in buenos aires at a very large packed stadium. the sound was amazing. the 3D format was even more amazing, especially on a 6 story screen! bono may really like the public attention, but he sure puts a lot of heart into their live show.
  3. i picked up the 'love' dvd/cd set. the dvd 5.1 is much better!!
  4. better yet, go for the caprice 'classic' wagon... third row seating option with a rear view.
  5. eric clapton's- 461 ocean boulevard on sacd. is it just me, or is it that after listening to sacd's and dvd audio, a regular cd just can't cut it anymore? lol!
  6. [/quote The Beatles were such a hard working band. If you look at what they did an the time frame involved it is a pace not matched especially for diversity and quality. ] well stated! i think i messed up and bought the 'love' cd instead of the dvd that i should have bought...
  7. sirius has grown leaps and bounds the past couple of years. most analyst's have given stern the credit for the growth since the jump in subscribers started when he joined sirius. of course he gives himself all of the credit too! i had xm when it first came out, and after 2 years, i switched to sirius. now that i'm tired of sirius, i think i will give xm another shot, or whatever the new conglomerate is called. having listened to both extensively, they both have their high and low points making them virtually equal to each other. the ONLY reason i have any satellite radio is the time spent behind the wheel. have you ever tried driving across several states every week searching for radio stations? i'm here to chime in. with the exception of some good independent stations here and there(92.3 in bloomington, in), the majority of 'free' radio is a wasteland. whats even worse now is that clearchannel owns most of the major stations and they even have the same cookie cutter format from city to city. the only real downfall, imo, is that the sound quality is not very good on even a decent stereo. it may be better than most fm stations, but certainly is not near digital quality... the very reason i always carry a small cd collection with me.
  8. the more i look, the more i think the 62's will fit my room better. it seems to me they will be better tucked in the upper corners as i had hoped. dave, how do you like your emotiva gear? have you had any other gear hooked up before to compare to? bob oh yeah, go IU! even without knight...
  9. as you can see, i am basically sitting on the back wall. i was looking to mount whatever i end up with in the upper rear corners of my room.
  10. nothing like hoosier hospitality! i still have the rf-7's. that was another question or concern i had. even though they are just surrounds, how would the 62's blend with my center 7 and main 7's? what really caught my eye with the 62's is the fact that they could better cover a 180 degree area.
  11. i was considering a set of rs-7's for my rear surrounds. as i looked a little further, the rs-62 also looks like it might do as well. i'm looking for something to be a close as possible in sound to say a rb-81 soundwise, if possible. i am mounting my rear surrounds up high in the rear corners of my room due to the layout. i've tried rear surround's on stands without much success. mainly i am looking to see if anyone can give me their opinion of either set and/or a direct comparison they have experienced. thanks.
  12. check out emotiva.com that will be my next purchase. very high quality. very appealing in the looks department. very good pricing. unbelievable customer service. very good sound having heard first hand. as far as their video handling capabilities.... i believe their soon to be released new prepro will have you covered.
  13. wow, you are talking the 12-1500 range for a receiver. have you given any thought to a prepro/amp combo? although most in that price range will not offer a lot of the frills and fuzzy lace that the denon and such will offer, but will sound far superior...
  14. not sure what your price range is here, but from what i've listened to, i'd go with HK without a doubt. it isn't about what chipset and who makes it, it's really how it sounds with your gear. if you are talking primarily ht use, then anything mentioned above would do the trick. i guess it just depends on how you are going to use it the most. good luck.
  15. they have a very cool website with video when they were featured on sunday morning. there is another tribute band that i heard on a morning radio show some time ago named 'the fab faux'. a couple of the guys play in conan obriens band. they sounded unbelievable as well.
  16. thanks greatly for all of the input. looks like i'll be picking up revolver, rubber soul, and the white album this weekend for sure. then of course the anthology set. i just like to get a feel for the sound of an entire album first. now, isn't the anthology dvd that is also in 5.1? i was thinking that is what the packaging said, not 100% for sure. i did see the new 'love' disc in the store as well. is it entire songs that are original or something different? buddy, you said it right on. the studio quality of their music is still better than most today. i guess digital isn't always better. of course abby road is a gem, but the last 7 or 8 tracks are a masterpiece. in my opinion, of course! it would be nice to have some really high quality recordings of them doing some extended jams.
  17. widespread panic- the album 'don't tell the band' on dvd audio. jam, southern, exceptional rock n' roll. these guys never run the well dry.
  18. i just recently began listening, really listening, to a lot of beatles tunes lately. they were really before my time and i've always been fascinated by how they are considered what changed music for a lot of people. most of their more played tunes i've heared many times over the years. it wasn't until recently i've really payed attention to just how great some of the lesser played tunes are. ringo's licks sound simple until you really pay attention to them. so far i've bought magical mystery tour, sgt. peppers lonely hearts club, and abby road. abby road really does it for me and i'm looking for a similar direction to go for in the next purchases. just looking for anyone's input in general as to what albums they consider TOP NOTCH, and so on. has anyone listened to anthology on dvd? it is supposed to be in 5.1. i wasn't sure if they were mixing it more for effect, or more towards dvd audio quality?
  19. me too buc. i'm still stuck on esteban's dvd lessons!! lol!!! i read a little more about that kid. he supposedly does all of the bass and drum work for the tunes that are his. just the bass lines in a few of those tunes are really great. he has been playing since age 8 and is from france.
  20. thanks for that link. here's another. that dude is simply amazing and only 17. eddie van halen who??!
  21. moe. the album 'sticks and stones'.
  22. that is what i was trying to figure out. i can get a set of the rs-7's cheap only because each one has a horn that is blown. i don't figure any kind of warranty would be active to cover that. will klipsch sell them direct?
  23. a few shots. i can't get enough of the rf-7's...
  24. does anyone know if, where, and how i could find replacement horns for a set of rs-7's? thx.
