  1. yeah i might wait. I can always upgrade.
  2. its not really the HDMI inputs that concern me. My dad is needing a receiver, and I was going to give him mine and get a new one. thats all. I can get the 705 for $523 shipped and the 606 for $429 shipped
  3. Wait for the 606 or get the 705? what do you guys think. will there be a 706? http://www.onkyousa.com/products_compare.cfm
  4. damn, i paid $400 new for my RW10d. how much does the 12d run new?
  5. I didn't mean any offense.. I was just referring to a speaker's need to breathe a little bit. And maybe your pic doesn't really show where they're positioned all that well. Sorry. considering the angle of "toe in" you must be sitting about 30' away from them, right? it does look like a very nice setup btw - nice work. actually they are toed in very very little. Of course if you can see, i dont have a seating area in front of the tv. my seating area is right in front of the speakrs.
  6. ok, no more jokes for you guys.[:$]
  7. []you know that was a joke, correct. lol
  8. sorry also. didnt mean anything by it. [}]
  9. I started out the same way you did. I have the RF62s, RC62, and RW10d. i promise the RW10d has plenty of thump and I have it in a 31x15 room. I have it +4db on my receiver and just default on the sub itself. I like alot of bass also. Would you rather spend alot more money on a sub or would you rather save some money, turn it up a little and buy you something nice like a RC62. The RC52 is not the matched center with the RF82s anyway. trust me I have listened to them with music and movies. If you have the room on the walls i would say go for the RS42s. Unless you would rather go with something like the RB61 and put them on stands? up to you really. i like the ceiling mount speakers, out of the way and concealed. sounddistributors.com has some very very good prices on anything you want.
  10. sell the RC52, get the 62 asap. what do you mean pay double. you can get it for around $300 shipped. Save your money and get the best setup up front first. You cant chinch on the center then go big with the sub.
  11. RF62 38Hz-23kHz +/-3dB RC62 57Hz-23kHz +/-3dB Currently I have these crossed at 40hz for the RF62s and 60hz for the RC62. I had them before today at 80hz for both, they seemed a little bright, maybe just my ears. My question is: anyone else having this problem? Seems like I get a little more midrange and bass resonse from them. Is this ok? thanks in advace.
  12. if you own a ps3 like I do, it decodes the dts master and sends it to the receiver as a pcm track. I have the onkyo and havent upgraded the firmware.
  13. they are toed in, they are away from the back wall at least 1 1/2 feet, and NO im not moving them away from the cabinet, they look good. thanks anyway.
  14. newest additon: brushed stainless handles.[H]
  15. buy from an authorized dealer, not ebay.
  16. it seems one of your surrounds will be closer to you than the other?
  17. I think he feels like I do everyday:
  18. RF82s fronts RC 62 center RS 52s surrounds or something in ceiling same for the rear surrounds RW10d, RW12d, or RSW10
  19. I know he has some RF35s which are same IMO as the RF82s, for $699 shipped. RC35, same as the RC62, for $279 shipped. go with the 35 series, save some money. 2007 stock is my understanding also.
  20. I have mine biamped. My receiver has a spot for this. The back rear surrounds inputs are used for this. I thought double the wattage, but not sure. My onkyo is 90 watts per channel, so biamped, I have no idea how much im giving them. I know they can take upwards of 500 watts each though.
  21. yeah, I thought they would be ok. I was in between some RS42s or these. My wife isnt a big fan of the speakers on the wall in ou living room. i dont mind them on the walls, they would just be a problem in our living room. So, steve these would sound great? Are these still in production, whats the deal with them? thanks alot.
  22. but i think my understanding is that with the ps3, it decodes it, then sends it as PCM. so basically you are still getting the package, the ps3 is just opening it for you before my onkyo 605 does.
  23. I was wondering what you guys think of the RCR 3s for my rear surrounds in ceiling? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Im getting a brand new pair from sounddistributors.com(authorized dealer) for a good price I think. Not sure what these babies go for brand new anywhere else? 24. I just tried I AM LEGEND on blu ray with my PS3. It has a TrueHD track on it, but all I was getting was PCM 5.1. I think the ps3 decodes it internally then my onkyo gets it as a PCM track. but only 48khz?
