  1. thats just it, there really isnt a way of tweaking it is there? you cant see the eq settings audyssey setup for you.
  2. where in the world can you get RF 62s that cheap.
  3. those are not the crossover points. That is the Eq adjustment. You can adjust from 80hz which is medium to low bass all the way up to 8000hz which is very high treble. I guess you can make the treble more pronounced than the midbass and bass. I was going for something full but still with highs in it.
  4. I just recently purchased 2 RF 62s, 1 RC 62, & RW10d sub. I absolutely love them. Ok, my question is this: I have everything running on my new Onkyo 605. I ran the Audyssey auto speaker setup and it sounds better than having the eq off, but the audyssey seems more midbassy and not as bright sounding. I get great bass and voices through the front speakers though. The floorstandings are set to FULL BAND. I was wondering if I wanted to setup the EQ manually, could anyone give me some pointers on where to start? The available EQ settings are for the fronts with going all the way up to +6db and down to -6db: Fronts: 80hz 0db 250hz 0db 800hz 0db 2500hz 0db 8000hz 0db I am currently experimenting with this setting: FRONTS 80hz +1db, 250hz +2db, 800hz +3db, 2500hz +4db, 8000hz +6db. SUBWOOFER: 25hz +6db, 40hz +5db, 63hz +4db, 100hz +3db, 160hz +2db. sounds ok so far.
  5. ok youth, I tried your test cd on my promedia klipsch while at my pc. It gave me a very good idea of the different effects of each Hz setting. I think 50-60hz on that CD is great bass. wow. anyway, I think I will either set the LPF on my receiver around 80hz or 100hz. it seems like a nice medium in there. 120 is too high. 120 sounds more midbassy too me.
  6. why dont you put those RS 42s on the back walls?
  7. I received this straight from klipsch: LFE = low frequency effects. This is generally a discreet track put out by modern receivers. It consists of low frequency signals intended for a subwoofer. LEF signals are always low voltage, with the intention that the subwoofer is self powered and will do its own amplification (like yours is) or the sub is passive and paired with a dedicated power amp. Low pass filter – this is a digital filter built in the audio processors. Think of this filter as a threshold for audio frequencies (measured in Hertz). Say it is set to 100Hz. Any audio signal under 100Hz will be sent to the sub and anything over 100Hz will be prevented from going to the sub and sent elsewhere (i.e. the rest of your speakers). The purpose is the send your subwoofer only the frequencies it was meant to play. It is adjustable because your other speakers may be able to handle some low frequencies themselves. Really it’s all a matter of personal taste. It makes sense that as you went from 0 to 120 you go more bass. When it is set to 0Hz all audio frequencies are skipping your sub – it isn’t being sent anything! Your receiver has its own low pass filter. This serves the exact same purpose that the one on the subwoofer does. But we don’t have to set them both…. All that being said – here is how your type of system is normally set up. On the subwoofer’s display – turn “lowpass” off (I believe the display will say LFE mode). On the receiver set the low pass filter to 80 Hz (80Hz is the THX recommendation). What have we just done? When setting the receiver’s low pass filter to 80Hz we have told the receiver that we want all frequencies under 80Hz to go to your subwoofer, and all frequencies over 80Hz to go to your other speakers. We have also completely bypassed the low pass filter on the sub. We don’t need it – we already filtered the audio long before it ever gets to the sub.
  8. I thought I would chime in. I just recently purchase a RW10d and it sounds great even on the low end. No ping pong sound or any weird sound coming from my sub. great punch. if i had the funds, I would get the RW12d.
  9. so by setting it to 120hz i would be letting everything from 0 to 120hz come through the sub on the LFE? and vice versa on the 80hz setting? everything from 0 to 80hz would come through the sub? Is 120hz too high? is 80 hz too low? im really confused.
  10. youth the receiver has a setting to set the LPF of LFE to 80hz,100hz, or 120hz. not sure about this I just set the subs crossover to LPF off and its in LFE mode. doesnt sound any different. hmmm
  11. My current setup is: Fronts: RF62 frequency response 38Hz-23kHz +/-3dB Center: RC 62 frequency response 57Hz-23kHz +/-3dB sub: RW 10d frequency response 28-120Hz +/-3dB I have the Onkyo 605 and currently I have the sub set on its internal crossover to LFE MODE. The receiver setup is as follows Subwoofer YES Fronts FULL BAND LPF of LFE 120hz not sure if I should set this to 80 or 100. I have no idea what the difference is or anything. please help a fellow klipsch fanatic with this new setup. thanks.

    RW-10d help

I just recently purchased a RW 10d and have a couple questions. I have a Onkyo 605 and there are so many settings I dont really understand. The sub right now is set at 120hz which is through the digital display on the sub. On the receiver my RF 62s are set to FULL BAND. My subwoofer is set to YES, and 120hz. not really sure what to set this thing at. It sounds great now. Should I keep pressing up on the digital display until it says LOW PASS OFF, LFE mode? im really confused about all this hz talk. thanks
  13. OMG a fellow louisianaian. Im from alexandria. sweet setup
  14. so, set my rw10d to LFE? my front RF62s to small? set the receiver to 80hz. not sure if there is a overall setting for that. I know you can set speakers individually. do you have a onkyo 605?
  15. i know my onkyo 605 will do it, it even says it on the back panel. rear channel for biamping.
  16. I also have a treble and bass control on my onkyo 605. I have the treble and bass both at 0db, no more no less. seems fine.
  17. wow, that seems low, is it enough bass? which sub do u have. on the receiver i have the tone on the sub at 0db and the level calibration at +2db. on the sub itself i have it at 0db. there is actually three volumes if you will that i could mess with to make it lower or higher.
  18. onkyo is a great receiver. I just got my 605 in and love it. I think I will run my ps3 with HDMI to the receiver also. I was running a optical audio cable from it, but i heard it is better to use the HDMI on avsfoums. o well. I was getting dolby Digital from my xbox 360 though with a optical cable. I ran the 360 via component to the tv, then a optical to the receiver. works great.
  19. o, I like alot![] It is very nice. plenty of inputs. great picture. it does 1080p over component where alot of other tvs dont.
  20. ooooo, wow, the sound from just these two and the sub are amazing. I played guitar hero and rock band on them, WOW! it sounds so crisp and clean. just the right thump from the sub. I have the sub set at 0db 120hz 0 phase. i think that is correct, not sure. I did the audyssey speaker setup with my onkyo, and have to say it set them up well. My speakers are exactly 9-10 feet from the your ears when laying on the couch and it set them at 9 feet and the sub at 10-12 feet. very nice extra.
  21. lol, i know but I have my center channel that needs to be in there. Im getting a nice wall unit made so I can house my tv,center channel, and all my components.
  22. Temporary setup until the wall entertainment center gets done.
  23. got the black finish. my room doesnt have any cherry in it. love the look though of the cherry.
  24. hey youth, what kind of speaker wire do you running to your 83s? bannana plugs?
