  1. Alright BobG you have a point, but what about using two sets of ks 525's in the back, and sides? How would that sound, with dipoles in the rear? Let me know what you think. Droopy
  2. Oh yeah, when i was in Qatar, their crossing signs have dudes with the whole Dhirkas on, you know the dresses these guys wear? Pretty funny to see that. I was going to guess that you were somewhere over here too, I just found this forum post today though. MBC...yeah you wont be seeing that at home. We get it here though, and it is like NBC, but not.... What is really funny about their commercials here is how everyone doesnt dress like you would think, most people are westernized and they are shown looking like us and living in houses like we do. All happy little families, which you wouldnt guess from our stereotypes at home. Nice work! Droopy
  3. Awesome trip. I am just north of saudi in that place where it sucks to live...bombs and what not. Anyway, I can say that I will miss the desert, something about the landscape here is weirdly appealing. I have been all over this region, I have flown over or seen every country in the middle east, but I havent had dinner with the King. I am glad that you had such an awesome trip, that must be amazing to see it all from that point of view. I still wish gas cost 1.00 instead of the 4.00 we are all paying but hey what are we going to do. Anyway, thanks for sharing your time and photos, what a trip for all of us to share here. Droopy
  4. Alright, another question, I was wondering if anyone would know, would it be better to get the KL525 fronts instead of the KL-650's for the THX 7.2 system? Would the 525's in the front be better all around to match all the 525's in the back and sides? Wouldnt that make a better match for timbre and more of a seamless sound stage? I think the 650's would rock but would it be better with all the same size speakers around you in the theater? Thanks. Droopy
  5. For seperates you need to go with Anthem D2. You will not find a better hand made product anywhere, esp when it comes to customer service. You can actually call the engineer who makes them and talk to him in person or email him, which is what I do. As far as amps, buy the P5 and or the P2 for your system to along with the D2, they are made by anthem also. They have 325 watts per channel and are highly rated, you would have to spend many more thousands to get any better and I am talking on the order of 10's of thousands. All of this equipement is THX Ultra 2 certified and will work perfectly together. Anthem has the ARC-1, which is a room correction mic system that corrects your for your rooms natural acoustics. I have the D2 and I am getting the THX system with 7.1 including the two subs and i cant wait to see how it comes out. Droopy
  6. I vote for the pioneer! I had yamaha and i loved it but I think if it were me i would go with the elite. Droopy
  7. I would gladly sell you my setup minus the rs 42's. You can buy everything, but i would assume you wouldnt want the subs either. Make me an offer, I still have all the boxes in perfect condition, I live in a kid/pet/smoke free environment, it is just me and my wife. I would ship them to you at your cost so factor that in. I live in maine so I hope you are close. i will make you a great deal on them. you can email me if you like just let me know. Droopy
  8. I see what you are saying. No we are movie watchers, we do not use it for music at all. Thanks Droopy
  9. Yeah I do have a good setup. I am not using the subs, they are in their boxes hopefully someone will buy them. So I am looking to get either the THX setup or to go with like the rf63's and rc64 and forgo the sub for now. I dont quite understand what you mean by I am on the right track, and then saying she may thank me later? Is the THX better? Thanks
  10. Alright, well I have been thinking about going with the rf63's and the rc 64, but I want to know if I should just get the THX system? How different are the systems? Is the ref line as good or better? What would be the differences in sound stage and dynamics? My wife would prefer the smaller style system but I would prefer the best sounding.
  11. Youthman, I see what you are saying. My hearing isnt the best either to many years flying prop driven airplanes. What does a set of 83's cost? Anyway, I am going to be doing more research and hopefully I can find out all the answers I need to. I like Arky's answer, short and sweet. Arky do you think it will match the speakers that I have now or be to much? Thanks for all the input guys. Droopy
  12. youthman, thanks for the advice. I am leaning more and more...I hear the 64 calling my name. What makes the biggest difference in the 82's vs the 83's i mean isnt the difference just the added woofer? How can the timbre be that different? Just asking. Thanks. Droopy
  13. Hey thanks for the response dary and nezff. Dary, I am very familiar with an spl meter, but I will do you one better, the D2 just came out with the ARC-1, the Acoustic Room Correction, kind of like Audessy but for Anthem only. I am currently overseas so I cant setup the system but my wife already has it sitting at home in my welcome home package. I want that speaker but I dont know how it will make a difference. i can get a great deal on the speaker too, which is making it hard not to get, but the wife factor is chimming in. Thanks for the welcome to the forum, I love Klipsch speakers, I would absolutely love a setup that included the new Palladium system. Anyway, I hope more people can help me out. Thanks, Droopy
  14. I currently have this setup: RF-82's RC-62 RS-42's RB-51's 2-Synergy 10" subs All being powered by the Anthem PVA 7 amp and the Anthem Statement D2. My current setup is nice and I love the sound that I get, but I have this overwhelming desire to get the RC-64. I want to know if anyone out there has a similar setup and if they have made that switch or know how different the speakers sound? We are movie and tv watchers, so this system rarely gets music played through it, so my concern is the movie side of the house. Will this bring a brighter or clearer sound stage or depth that I am not currently getting? How will this change my overall acoustic envelope? Will the RC-64 be to much for the center of this sound stage? My front speakers are seperated by a few feet, so my sound stage is pretty wide. I also am in a retangular room, with the correct setup of surrounds in the back and rs-42's to the sides. I dont know how I ever got my wife to let me get this setup, nor allow me to setup our living room in this manner but it is working. Do you think it will be worth the extra $ that I will need to spend in order to get this center channel? Thanks for any and all inputs. Droopy
