    I have the 30's & Chorus II's. For me, it's the Chorus' hands down, and it's not even close! The 30's just seem to lack something when compared to the Chorus'. It's kinda hard to explain but, the Chorus' just plain sound better.

    If there was any doubt about Klipsch pulling out of Hope, it has been removed. Klipsch has announced that they will be building a new 46,000 square foot "distribution" center in Hope. Pretty big news around here in Arkansas! They'll be adding about 80 new jobs. Can't wait!

    Very well said. It seems that many of the "old timers" have been around here from day one. Come to think of it... I can't remember reading one negative post from any of those guys. These are the "class act" people! I have an opinion about many things like the others, I just don't have the need to shove it in someone else's face and scream about it. This BB has grown leaps and bounds in the recent past. I guess you get the bad with the good. I don't post as much because many of the technical threads are just out of my league. I do enjoy reading them, though. I especially enjoy reading the posts from the people I've met, as well as a few others. You know... you can sure tell a lot about someone by the way they post. The only thing I do know for sure is that I like Klipsch speakers, which is more than some people here can say.

    I visit the factory in Hope quite frequently, as I have friends that work there. I can tell you that the LaScala is not currently in production. Hopefully soon! I haven't checked, but my LaScala's may still have "fresh" sawdust, as that substance does not evaporate.

    I own CF-3's and actually like them. (whoa... did I say that out loud?) Anyway... they're quality speakers with a very distinct sound, but they don't have the sound that sets Klipsch apart from everything else! I hope the Reference line doesn't go the way of the Epics.

    Does anyone here see similarites between the Reference line and the Epic line? When the Epic line came out they were touted as having a very "sophisticated" sound, due in part to intricate components. More of an "audiophile" sound. Both are 2-way, appealing to the purists. I know the two are totally different designs, but we know what happened last time Klipsch went for the "audiophile" sound.

    Welcome to Klipschville. There's no turning back now. Dougdrake2 is right, this is just the beginning. Why... I've even heard tell that some of the more "fanatical" members once made a trip to Hope, AR. just to see & visit their "Holy Grail". (tongue firmly planted in cheek)

    That drawing you obtained from Gil had to be the one I did. (I had it posted here for some time) It's a mod that seemed to make sense to me, more so for a 2-way than a 3-way. I've built a pair of homemade LaScala's just for this mod, but I haven't had a chance to test it yet. One of the engineers at Klipsch said it looked like a good mod to him. He went on to say, they had thought of this before, but hadn't really explored it like they should have.

    That's my feeling as well. When I went to PWK's birthday party, I noticed that The Klipsch's closest friends have Chorus's. (as well as others) Knowing Mr. Paul, (to a small degree) I don't think he (or his friends) would have that unless he had some "attachment" to them.

    I have Chorus II's & Cornwall II's. The Chorus did replace the Cornwall. Apparently more "modern" looking. The Chorus is a great speaker but, I prefer the sound of the Cornwall, it goes deeper. There seems to be some debate as to whether the Chorus/Forte/Quartet line was Heritage or not. Klipsch says no, but these speakers were designed while PWK still owned the company. It's also interesting to note that PWK has multiple pairs of these in his home along with the other Heritage speakers. I don't think he would have someone else's designs in his home.

    Pro Line LaScala's & Volume Frustration

    I'm using pro line LaScala's (left & right flank) and a pro line Heresy (center) for some local DJ/PA work. They're powered by a Crate PA8FX 8 channel box mixer/amp. I'm using Shure SM58 mics for voice & a Harman-Kardon CDR-2 for the CD's. The problem is getting the sound levels set correctly. The mics are no problem. I'm turning the gain about 1/3 rotation of the adjustment knob with the master volume set very low. The problem is with the CD level. You can't turn the adjustment knob far enough to fine-tune the volume level. It seems like it's either to low/off or it's blasting away. I guess I'm trying to say the adjustment is just too sensitive. You breathe on it and it's a drastic change one way or the other. I've got the master volume so low it's almost off. I need to be able to get the adjustment far enough into the rotation where the volume can be fine-tuned. Is there anything I can do to reduce the signal from the CD player to the amp? The Cd player itself doesn't have an adjustment for the signal that I can find. Any ideas?
