  1. That thing is a beast! I have 2 Rotel Integrated amps and 3 of their CDPs and think they punch way above their weight class, which in the case of your amp looks to be quite substantial.

     GLWTS.

  2. So far it has been a pretty bad start to the NFL season and I am not just talking about the NY Giants. To lose so many big names right out of the gate knocks some luster off the start of the season, Drew Brees out for 6 weeks, Roethlesburger out for the season, Nick Foles out for the season, (how does that big contract taste right about now?) Andrew Luck bailing out, Gronk retiring, to say nothing of the Jets Sam Darnold out with Mono,( Really?) and then Siemian his replacement gets rolled up on MNF and right to surgery. Talk about the survival of the fittest.

  3. That is one heck of a lineup, I have been lucky enough to have seen about half of the artists including Derek Trucks, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, Jimmie Vaughan, Sonny Landreth, Robert Cray, Bonnie Raitt, Clapton, & Los Lobos. A word of advice, Los Lobos is not to be missed, they put on a great show. For fun they throw in some covers for encores and do blistering versions of the Dead's "Bertha" and Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On", as well as Ritchie Valens "Let's Go". Sonny Landreth is an absolute monster, check him out. Enjoy guys and gals.

  4. It took me 3 days to sell a pair of stock '87 Cornwall IIs in 8/10 condition for $650. It all depends on your location as to availabilty. West Coast prices seem to be much higher. With beaters, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

  5. Well I laid them in the lap of our Klipsch brethren and they dribbled the ball off of their foot and out of bounds. They traded away at a lay up price. At least $100 below WVU 80 spreadsheet prices. At least I posted them here first..

  6. Well Old-timer it was a long drive as there was a horrible accident on the Merritt Parkway on the way up to Tom's where they had to bring in a chopper to get the victims to the hospital. A 2 hour drive was 4+, but don't worry Tom was a complete gentleman.😀

PS: JVitti 1970 has expressed buying interest,...

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

A woodchuck would chuck as much as a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

Michael Palin in "A Fish Called Wanda" absolutely killed that as he played the stuttering thief.

Great deal and an excellent member of the forum.  Wish I was closer and I'd come up and visit some of the LI wineries, and play a bit of golf at Shinnecock....

Jim, my game is so bad these days I turned DOWN an offer to play Shinnecock Hills last month! Killed me to do it but to play like crap in that gorgeous course is embarrassing.

  9. The time has come to part company with my 1987 Cornwall IIs. Oak veneer, cane grills. I will offer them up for sale here on the Klipsch forum to give members here first crack. They are located on the east end of Long Island, zip 11977. I would conservatively rate them a 7.5-8/10, they have the usual nicks here and there on the veneer, fairly minor in my mind as they were in my living room for years. Some bowing of the grills that I have included in the pictures and have attached some velcro strips to tame. No labels on back although I do have a photo of a partial label somewhere and will look for that label that I stored somewhere safe, as in I can't remember where. Can be auditioned before purchase.  Price is $650 FIRM, cash and carry. No shipping. I bought them from an esteemed member here on the forums at a fair price and am returning the favor. I do have a handtruck to help move them.

Like that guy @wuzzzer wasn't he the dude 007 defiled his virgin voodoo priestess in "Live And Let Die" after leaving Mardi Gras?

It might be him! But not 7-up.

That is a primo clip above!! Saw the Ron Hextall version and lots of others!

Thinking Michael Clarke Duncan but it was before his time.

Big bald photogenic ***** with a friendly face that had a LOW blues voice. Raspy, gravelly "Not Too Sweet X 3 then Canada Dry Ginger Ale"

The actor you guys are thinking about is Geoffrey Holder. And yes, he was the Voodoo Priest in "Live & Let Die."

  11.  Those are some nice looking Blue Claws. My grandfather taught my brother and me how to catch Blue Claws when we were kids. Take a wire hanger and open it up, skewer 4 or 5 Snapper heads (baby bluefish) onto the hanger and twist it back together. tie a rope onto it and toss overbaord. Grandpa would either smoke a cigarette or drink a beer and then tell us to slowly bring it up. With any luck you would have a couple of crabs chowing down. Catch them with the net and repeat. I miss being 9 years old, life was much more simple back then.

  12. It looks like this storm may be upgraded to a catagory 1 hurricane with winds up to 85 mph. Nothing to fool around with, certainly not at sea level. Best of luck to them, let's hope they get out of town in time.

Those discs deteriorate with time as well.  Not just from playing like vinyl does, but simply from time.

I have heard that but from my experience it has not been the case. My discs are treated accordingly and stored properly, i.e. away from sunlight, not stacked etc. I was told cdrs would have to be replaced after 20 years or so, but the several hundred I have still all play perfectly. My vinyl having gone to a few too many keg parties in college on the other hand....
