  1. Knoxville eh Coytee. Hmmm. PICS look very intriguing Tom. I want to try to get them to LOOK like they are domesticated. Size is not an issue. Current own VMPS IIa/R SEs. They will be very difficult to give up on the bass. Image needs to be heard. Life is entirely my goal. Check the pic in my profile. It will tell you most. Can I get them with the right look or do I need to hire a cabinet maker? OMG.... SP
  2. Thanks, Tom. On the possible Jubilee mods as to appearance - PICS, PICS, PICS
  3. Sounds like Jubilees are ahead in the vote so far. Thanks to all that are contributing! I live in the Louisville metro area, Preston, Tom. Are there any suggestions were Jubilee to win on appearance mods? Not certain that a mid-century industrial / 'behind the screen' vibe will work in my home with either my spouse - or my internal sensibilities. That comparo would need to be in person certainly. Don't know how to get the comparo part done that must include both speakers in attendance. Incidentally - I have asked the same question " Which is better - Jubilee or AK6" of an in-house person at Hope. So far no responses there as yet. Existing pre and power may need to change too. I have super efficient speakers now - but they also seem do very well with SS and 200 w. SP
  4. Will a RC-7 work and be a good sound upgrade for my current KV-3? Mains are KG 5.5's with RS-3 rears. The Receiver uses automatic room equalization. It's a Pioneer Elite VSX-84TXSi that uses a fairly advanced Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration equalization process for the room with a mic feedback via a 9 band eq & associated ranges phase control (!?). The RC-7 looks better on paper but I am regretfully an audiophile.... Thanks. SP
  5. Sub: Thanks for the follow up. Yea - I want some guidance on how they sound as a starting point only. Don't think I'm going to find a retailer with the exact setup and I'll possibly use the Intertnet to buy at the lowest price. Return policy is as always very important I agree. I think my acceptance window eventually will be a lot larger than in the Audiophile Room .... WAF is also critical here. ALL / ANY thoughts or opinions are welcomed! SP
  6. SuB: Thanks for your response. The system I am considering is ONLY the sound bar (G-42) and the sub (SW-110). This is for a new bedroom flat plasma TV just purchased. Main home theater system is in the Family Room with big Klipschs, sub., etc. Audio room is so far divoid of any Klipsch products so far. Any experience with the G-42 & SW-110 combo? Sound? etc.? SP
  7. Small new plasma in a bedroom. Has anyone heard this combo and know where to get the best $$? Remember - it's just a bedroom .... SP
  8. I have an old set of 70's Cornwalls. Original raw birch and now in bad shape. Small areas where veneer is chipped off and they are stained and DIRTY. Very small tear in one woofer. They need grill cloths and the frame. 1. Best option to refinish 2. Way to get grill cloths on to (any) substituted frame? 3. Simple woofer repair? They will be used in a garage system and will be powered by a refurbed Fisher 500C. All suggestions WELCOMED! Thanks - SP
  9. t-man: I think all is ok with the KV3. I can recheck the phasing to be certain. Test tones during MCACC can be heard and sound the same level to mains. Center is directly beneath the big screen and tilted up slightly. What do you suggest? SP
  10. I am wanting to upgrade my center channel but continue to use my existing KG 5.5 s. 5.5s have not yet be checked for cabinet leaks, etc. Existing center channel is a KV3. Current 5.1 receiver is a Pioneer Elite VSX-84TXSi with the advanced MCACC room equalization that also checks the channel delay and channel level. My taget is improved dialog rendition which now varies widely from channel to channel (DirecTv). When the source is real good (like BluRay) - center is still not great. Which Klipsch center would be my best bet for use with the 5.5s? This is for home theatre only - two channel audio system is in another room. Rears are are RS3 s and sub is a Sunfire MK IV. Thanks - SP
  11. Loose / sell your other subs, find an older Sunfire Mk4 maybe on eBay, ($300) ... check the driver for motion and surround (resistance for around 4 ohms),.. get the power amp / board refurbed at ritas vintage audio in WA. ($250), and then remove all loose items in your listening area. With a great BluRay source / disc and all quality HDMI you will be very entertained (quiver your liver). Don't put the Sunfire in a corner unless you want to hurt yourself! SP
  12. Tried to post as pic of historical interest - but could only add it to the Home Theatre folder. Is there a way to creat a folder for more such? KIA
  13. ......... and the Pioneer Elite VSX-84TXSi automatically sets up speakers with it's own mic for speaker efficiency, phase, room nodes, etc. Will this allow me to compensate widely for the differences in efficencies and give a better center - maybe with a wider spread (one RC-7 vs. two RB-5s)? KIA
  14. UPDATE! Haven't moved to go for the new speakers as yet - economy. Replacing VMPS IIa/R Limited Editions soooo - it will be a race to get that depth of bass and image. Hard act to follow if you have heard them. Still serious about going back to horns though - love the low octave energy of Khorns (or Jubilees) and live sound I lived with before the big VMPS. Maybe Spring -
  15. Ok guys - which one could be better in my Home Theatre in the dispersion area - 1-RB7 or 2-RB5 (able to be pivoted a little horizontally)? Mains are currently KG 5.5 and rears are RS-3. Existing center is to be replaced - currently a KV-3. I am an audiophile but this setup is just for video ^..^ Surround receiver is a Pioneer Elite VSX-84TXSi and it automatically sets up speakers with it's own mic for speaker efficiency, phase, room nodes, etc. Thanks - Chuck
  16. Thanks to all for your suggestions and thoughts. Looks like I may be taking a trip to KS! KIA
